"True true!" He sighed as he watched Wiketh trudge over to where Posideon was playing with Sam and Rile and made a low rumbling noise at the lizards, towering over the blue. What did I say about showing off! Knock it off! Honestly, you act like your a queen sometimes
The large brown made a laughing noise and swung its head to look at him, The girls rather shy, why force your company upon her so? Because if I don't do something, and I am stuck here all day, I might go insane! Chuckling he watched as Wiketh made a showy wave of his wings and dismissed this thought as foolishness. "Well, I always find observation to be key." taping his fingers slowly against his thigh he sighed, "Shards, when are the eggs going to hatch? I have more work to do!" Muttering he bit his lip and watched as Rile glided over, landing on his shoulder and drapping herself along his shoulder, tail wrapped around his upper arm and head resting on his chest. "Blasted creatures. Almost worse than the Lord Holders." After a brief pause he added, "Almost." |
Den ignored the rumbling dragon, far more interested in playing then caring even if he was so much smaller. He never was wise about that kinda thing… outgoing and playful, seemingly Sedna’s opposite in every way. He was even vivid in color while her pale skin and ivory hair was everything but…
The woman in question looked up as he spoke to her, nodding to the first and getting a small smile on her lips. Yes…observation was key….she said nothing, however, until he spoke of the fire lizard. Slowly reaching over she stroked down the fire lizards nose, her eyes warming subtly. “I don’t know… I think they’re rather cute…” She stated quietly before dropping her hand and looking up at Den again. “I suppose though some fire lizards would not like that…” She murmured with an almost chuckle. |
~Lyna, i believe that is Lord Sapir comming this way~ Lunair said as she looked over everyones' head as she noticed the Lord comming towards them. ~Are you sure, Lunair?~ i asked as i looked around the enormous room. ~Yes, it is him he seems....mad~ Lunair said as she cocked her head to the side as she thought of the right word to say. ~Let's just hope it isn't to bad~ I said as i saw him draw closer to us i hopped that he wasn't looking for us. i shiftted from one foot to the other as i waitted to see if he was actually heading towards us or going some place else.
He grinned and shook his head, "Cute's not the word they prefer." Shaking his head he closed his eyes as Rile chirrped noisly at him and bit his ear. "Dammit Rile. I just told her!" He sighed and scratched the little golds eye ridges and raised an eyebrow, "She prefers impressive, awe inspiring, or amazing." He chuckled and winked, "I call her imperious wretch though."
Sedna smiled gently, tilting her head to the side at the small lizard as she watched it. “I think I’ll just stick with cute…despite her queenly manner” she murmured, winking at the little fire lizard as she reached up to stroke beneath it’s chin. She then dropped her hand, smiling faintly before looking up at J’lor curiously. It was unusual to her… for someone to sit talking to her and she didn’t seem all that sure what to say or do…
Grinning he patted her head, "Relax, Relax. It's a hatching. A party, celebration. So stop being so stiff." he grinned and stretched, yawning as Rile hissed her displeasure at his movment. "Now, I have to ask you to forgive me but I've only had one cup this morning. I'm almost between here." He grinned and waved towards the kitchens, "I'm sure the women have some brewing right now! Would I be so bold as to request your company?"
Sedna blinked as he patted her head, almost blushing simply because it surprised her so much. She notted the yawn and as he spoke nodded her head, fully expecting him to now turn and walk away…when he surprised her again. For a moment she was to surprised to answer but then simply gave him a soft smile and nodded her head. “I..would like that…” She murmured quietly, studying him a moment. She was curious really… she was use to being ignored by most.
"Relax lass. I'm not going to bite. Thats strictly reserved for this little wretch!" jerking a thumb at Rile he grinned as he began to lead the way towards the kitchens he yawned again, "Why so quiet anyway? I am surely not that terrifying." tapping his foot impatiently as he watched the women running around, cooks bellowing around and he sighed. "Hello? Klah? Need some. Sorry. Impatient." He looked sideways at the young woman and sighed, "really, why so quiet?"
Sedna blushed faintly as he told her to relax, running a hand through a bit of her hair that was loose. She listened to him speak and smiled a little, shaking her head as he spoke of being terrifying. In all honesty though…she supposed in the long run she found everyone at southern terrifying in away…terrified she’d get closer to them then she had any right to.
As he repeated the question she gathered she would actually need to answer and gave him a slightly warmer smile as she shrugged her slender shoulders. “I..I guess I don’t always know what to say. I am not use to talking very much. I’ve been told I make a good listener though.” Sedna said the last with a soft chuckle, den glancing over at her and tilting his head to the side. Poseidon knew through experience… she talked just fine once she was comfortable. “so.. How do you think the hatching will go?” She asked conversationally. |
He grinned and shook his head "Too long. Of course it had to come when my research... Never mind. You don't mind too much do you?" He sighed, "I could talk your ear off all day about that stuff." He grinned and sat down into a table and a young woman ran over and sighed handing him a cup. "Thank you." he nodded as he took a sip and sighed, "I mean, I guess I could get back in time for the next test but...."
“I don’t mind…” Sedna answered the first question, listening to the rest absently. It wasn’t too much of a surprise to her honestly, having heard a little bit of his talking about his research to Sheryn… As he spoke of the test she couldn’t help but smile a little, nodding and saying quietly “I’m sure you will… What will it be looking for anyway?”
"Well. Thats pretty tough." He scratched his head and groaned, "Some curious differences. These little lizards can breath fire. The big beasties can't." Frowning he leaned back in his chair, tipping it and staring into the ceiling. "Other than some changes in size and intelegance.... there are only very minor differences between the Lizards and the Dragons. Genetically I mean... Have you been taught about genetics? Fascinating really, genetics are what make up all living things... Its hard to explain really. You'd have to study them to get the full extent. Anyway. Thats what I'm working on right now." He smiled broadly and rocked back and forth on the back legs of the chair.
"Um, ok... as long as you're telling the truth about being happy," Hamon said, trying to keep his mind on the subject. "What all did you manage to keep?"
"The world hates us stong women," Sheryn replied, smiling and gently hugging Selea. "It'll be fine, the next should make it. I'm hoping my next will also be good, good for me and the Weyr. But Rapturanth won't have anything less, either." She pulled back, smiling. "And I'll help rouse the others, don't worry." She walked off to wake the other leaders. |
"C'mon and I'll show you!" Feng grabs his hand and leads him to her room. "I still have one of her dresses, and a comb. I also have some things from when my mum and the pidgeon were together. He sent her away when she got pregnant.... and of course I'm happy! I'm with you"
“I know a little….” Sedna murmured, tilting her head to the side as she watched him a moment. She shook her head a moment, adding “Be careful you don’t fall…do you enjoy your work then?” She asked quietly though the slight smile on her pale lips suggested she had a distinct feeling he did. She didn’t mind though, making conversation…
He grinned and nodded, "Oh of course. Theres nothing like it. Learning and finding the secrets of the world? Theres nothing better!" He leaned forward and sighed. "The dragons, and the lizards... they are the most important thing in this world." tapping his fingers on the table he grinned, "And I want to know what makes them so important."
It's because we are so cool. Thats why. "Wiketh! You know what I meant!" He glanced out the doorway and shook his head as the big browns eye blocked one of the rushing weyr women and waved him off, "How long until the eggs hatch than hmm? I can't be here all day!" Shaking his head he turned back to Sedna. "I digress." |
Sedna couldn’t help a small laugh though she hid it in her hand. “I see…and yes perhaps you do but it’s fun. Sometimes it’s nice to just hear someone talk about what they love…” Sedna shrugged then, running a hand through her ivory hair a moment in thought. She was feeling a little unsure now, but not because of him…more other things the conversation was bringing to mind.
"Her and the pidgeon... oh, yeah. I had forgotten," Hamon said, "Is there anything condeming? Like, to use as blackmail?"
~Blackmail?~ -Something you have of someone else's to make them do what you want. It's usually something they don't want people to know about or have.- ~Oh... I think I get it.~ |
He grinned, "I fell like i have been doing all the talking. You should tell me about yourself a bit." Leaning forward he motioned for one of the rushing women to refill the cup. An exasperated sigh and a full cup later he sighed. Looking over his cup he sipped the warm beverage slowly, "So what about you hmm? what is it YOU love?"
Feng grins evilly, "Oh course. Just because I'm happy now doesn't mean that I don't want revenge." She opens her door and pull out a package from under her bed. "Look. I have some books too." She pulls out a beautiful gown, a few books, some shiney trinkets, and some folded papers.
Hamon picked up one of the books. "How did you keep all this safe?"
~Do we have anything to blackmail someone with?~ -Unless you count K'ton's love of wine, no. That doesn't even count, everyone already knows.- ~Oh.~ |
"I kept it all in an oiled sack burried in the sand in a cave off the coast." she looks at the book he picked up. "That's a history of Threadfall." She turns to the pile of stuff and picks up the papers. "These are love letters from and to the Pidgeon. I have a dress she got from him as well."
"Wow," he said. He looked at the dress. "This is fairly expensive fabric. He was willing to spend a lot on her. Was it before or after he was married? That would make a lot of difference in who we go to with some of this, for help and advice. Though I think Weyrwoman Sheryn would really like to know about it, so she could get him off of her..."
Sedna flushed a moment as she thought but shook it off before smiling and chuckling softly. “Dragons and the sea I suppose.” Sedna shrugged her shoulders, glancing down at her hands a moment. “I’m boring really… always been… always will be…” She suggested gently, running a hand through her hair again in thought. “So it’s little wonder you’d do the talking…”
"It was while he was engaged. My mom got pregnant just before the marriage. We could go to Sheryn... she certainly doesn't like him, and she might be interested simply in the fact that I'm his illegitimate child."
