Selea's face kept changing. First it would be troubled, then a Egg would hatch and it would be joyous. Then her face would return to it's troubled station. ....where could she be?...she knows her duties.... Three more Eggs hatched:2 Browns and a Green. ...Oh i love this feeling...

She saw a small flit of white over in the very back of the Grounds, by the inner caves. .....Noo?...Shards don't tell me....

She looked back at the three successful Impressions. --So Far So Good-- ~Yes...~

Damilae felt the rumbling of the cavern and woke with a start. "Oh!~" She wiped her now wide open eyes for sleep. ...Am i Late?....Did it start without me?.... She looked over at her basket of Glow. It was not glowing. .....Not Good!... She rushed through the dark cavern to the edge of the cave where it met the Hatching Grounds. Her shiny white and silver skirt slid around the edge with the inertia of her run. She pulled it back hastily, but what she didn't know is..the damage was done. "Ohh~hh.." She sighed in the childlike manner of one who knows they are in trouble. She peeked around the edge of the warmed cave wall to see four dragonets being led off to be fed and the other 24 eggs sitting in the shiny heat of the sands. Looking over the view, she saw the tinier almost translucent egg. ....oooooooh!~....so pretty...but will it live?....I hope it does... She thought to herself as she kept herself hidden from the masses' view. ..what am i going to do?....

Young man shrugged, seemingly indifferent about the situation. He glanced back on hatched eggs with a content smile, masking his boredom quite well.

~Probably because she's yet to know you.~ Bronze paused a moment. ~Oh...~

<What's wrong?> alarmed with sudden change of dragon's voice, he asked.

~Nothing that you can change right now.~

<..... Try being more confusing next time, please?>

"We'll see after a month." he joked, but smiled back at Sedna. "Thanks though. Now, who do you suggest, which weyrleader won't kill me at sight? Alas, who might use a bronze rider with a wide knowledge about........ many things?"

~You possibly couldn't be less confusing, could you?~

<Thank you for your eternal support and faith in me! I'll keep that in mind when we go between next time.>

"I take that back, I guess I can say I'm good at technical details." With arrival of the jealous green, bronze rider was distracted again. "Ah, didn't notice you were gone. Of course I missed you!" he dodged his finger from a teasing bite, and grabbed tiny firelizard's head, keeping it closed so she won't try biting.

~Lyna go over ther and bring the girl into the room~ Lunair said as she nudged Lyna and gave you a mental image of what she was talking about.

~Okay Luna but if this back fires it is on you not me.~ Lyna said as she walked over to the girl that Lunair was talking about. She looked her over and noticed her skirt, she smiled kindly at the girl. "What are you waitting for?" she asked her as she leaned against the wall next to her and watched as some more eggs hatched except for the almost transparent egg. She remembered when she she had impressed Lunair, it was simular to a hatching like this but her egg and a blueish hue to it, she knew that Lunair would have been a blue dragon if it was for her deficiantcy. She smiled and looked at the girl, she hopped that she wasn't hidding because of her ruinned skirt.

Sedna watched him in thought, saying nothing. He seemed a little … bored for lack of a better word. Oh well, she was not an exciting person really… to secretive and kept to much to herself. The man’s expression was easy to read but … the dragon was a much harder beast. She said nothing further, however, and simply waited until she was spoken to. She smiled slightly, “I …well you would find Sheryn is a very accepting woman of a riders many faults… but I do not know Miss Selea well so she may be equally accepting. She and Sheryn seem good friends….”

Running her hands through her hair she then glanced towards Selea, tilting her head to the side. Thinking of something she let a soft smile lift the tip of her lips. “There are fewer riders at fort… so Selea may appreciate your presence…” There may have been more to what she said… in fact being she did not often smile there likely was but she said nothing…. In truth she thought that weyrwoman selea needed something though she wasn’t sure what and was trying in her own subtle way to do something to help….

Damilae didn't get out fast enough. She had been caught red handed where she shouldn't be. "Don't tell my Mother~ Please?~" She said in a hushed panic of a yell. She remembered she stil had to keep quiet or Selea would notice her here. She grabbed the DR's arm and pulled her out of sight with her. "I'm supposed to be up there-" She pointed to the stands. "-But i fell asleep back here." She was almost crying. Her white and silver skirt glittered in the half light.

"I promise you i won't tell. Lunair is comming over to help you out." Lyna said as she smiled downa t the girl, as she moved out of sight next to the girl. Lunair came over and touched the girl's forehead with her nose. "She says hello." She smiled even more, she remembered how it was when she wantted to impress. "It will be alright just stick to the wall with me and Lunair between you and your mother. We will get you to where you need to be just please don't cry." She said kindly as she hugged the girl, she knew how she felt, so she didn't want her to get into trouble. That was something that she completely understood was getting into trouble with her mother, she hopped that she wouldn't get into too much trouble later and that her helpping her would work.

Damilae looked over quickly at Selea. She wasn't looking at her, but at the eggs. Two more hatched. The tiny egg was barely fidgeting while the others shook violently. "That one looks so sad...Oh, i don't want to go anywhere until after the Hatching...I can sneak into my room and claim to have been there and take whatever punishment." She wiped the half tears out of her eyes. "The Wyerwoman is usually very fair if you come clean, but this is pretty bad...." She looked out at the happy new DRs and their dragonets.

"If you say so. I will stay here with you if you like. It is sad, we, me and Lunair believe that it is a white. I thought the same thing before Lunair hatched. But i will tell you this who ever impresses that dragnet will be more lucky than some one who impress a Gold." Lyna stated as she leaned against the wall and looked at the egg that almost everyone was looking at, Lunair continued to hum as she watched the egg intently. Lyna reached up and scratched Lunair on the eye ridge, waitting for that one egg to hatch, if it didn't then it would be really sad for the poor thing.

"I should ask them both then," he said, looking at impressed ones.

~After the hatching will be wise...~

"After the hatching will be wiser..." he agreed aloud. "Weyrwomen can be quite a challenge to deal with." he added in a low murmur.

~Also you ought to ask to be a wingleader, or a wingsecond. Not that thread is a threat anymore, but I don't like laying like a huge chunk of bronze meat around.~ bronze's voice echoed with a rumbling.

~I'm a reasonable intellectual, best they can do is keeping you on air, away from weyr as much possible. When bored, you can prove to be a great threat to yourself and the weyr.~

"Where did Lyna go?" he asked, for a change of topic.

~Not in the air, as you're worried. No one is flying at the moment with you standing inside watching the hatching. Stop acting like a paranoid.~

Zephira wasn't one to stay in one place either. It was obvious and agreed by others at Ista that the bronze dragon was indeed wiser and more mature then it's rider. But both had something in common, when they had nothing to do they got annoyed. R'el wondered if he should ask for a quest to fulfill, a task where requires long distance travelling much often. A content grunt of bronze's approved the way he was thinking. Both were getting restless by minute.

[[I'll wait for the Selea's daughter to impress before I have R'el go approach to any of the weyrwomen. So everyone be wrned ^__^]]

Selea watched the Grounds, getting more into the event again. ...Ohhh....I hope that one hatches.... She noticed the egg barely rocking and its Cadidates getting worried. One was crying. ...Oh Shards...they just aren't hardy kids anymore... She grumbled in her head. She smiled and cheered at each Impression.

Damilae nodded in thanks, not taking her eyes off the egg. "I don't see why they are crying, they should be happy, and proud to be on the grounds. The Eggs sense the world around them. It probably isn't hatching because no one out there believes in it." She told the white rider next to her. "It looks like it was supposed to be another gold, but then do you she the green fleck in the shell? It is like it wanted to be a Green and a Gold and got confused..." She giggled lightly. She stared intently on the egg all but wishing it out of its shell. A few moments go by and the Candidates around the small egg turn as if to leave the Grounds towards a different egg, when the small egg Shook violently. It shook so strongly that after a moment it nearly fell overand you could see the small dragonet pecking away at the inside of the shell, but the shell was really thick. The Candidates run back to the egg screaming in support telling the dragonet to live and fight the shell. The Dragonet hearing this through the shell gave one final push and cracked the shell. The Drgaonet was tiny, Gold and green sheen on a shade of white. The Cndadates all think trying to Impress, but none do. The Dragonet starts shreiking and running around and running into the kids. All of a sudden, there is a scream coming from the caves as the Dragonet stops.
"Xesuth!~" Damilae runs out onto the Grounds and runs straight to the dragon.

Selea saw the violence of the dragonet rampaging through the Candidates, shrieking. ...Oh By the Egg!!!...Noo!... She leaped over the box she was in, her lower legs bared to the air as she fell downward to the sands. As she righted herself next to the Grounds, she saw Damilae. "What?!" She saw her silver dress streaking through the sands as she shouted the dragonet's name. "NO!~" Her voice almost drowned out by the Humming.
~Let them be Selea She stopped what might have had to be stopped by the Dragonriders, Look!!~
Selea stopped, looked around and saw the Dragonriders at full running stance relaxing and smiling. --I will deal with this later....-- Her words almost acidic in the mind. --later...-- She made her way back to her seat, letting the Mature dragon riders lead the Impressed youths out to the feeding fields. Selea sat in minor frustration, barely enjoying any of the rest of the proceedings.

Sounds wise…”Sedna answered the first quietly, glancing over and tilting her head to the side. She watched him a moment, silent as she thought. As he spoke of them as a challenge she simply suppressed a smile, seeming still as if something was on her mind. His second change made her smile, but it was a wider smile then before. She’d observed Lyna long enough to know she was a little lonely so someone showing interesting talking to her pleased her.

As his thought seemed to shift, however, she tried to keep the smile from falling before glancing away. “I believe lyna is over there” she said quietly indicating the general direction after a quick thought. She then studied R’el a moment longer, turning her head to look up at the roof. As if on cue the small but quick blue she rode, Poseidon, landed next to her. Apparently he’d been playing nearby, often acting like a little kid.

“if there is something you would like to do I can send Poseidon to get you when the hatching is complete….” She said offhandedly, as if sensing the restlessness of both dragon and rider. She then reached up to stroke the dragon’s regal head, causing Den, as her dragon was nicknamed, to wag the tip of his tail like an earth puppy would have.

~Wow, that was unexspectted.~

~Yes it was.~

~but i did tell you it would hatch~

~Yes, yes you did~

~Lets go and congraulate her~ Lunair said as she started to head towards feeding fields, they passed in front of Sedna and R'el. They stopped for a moment and looked at them smiling. "Well, R'el. It was a white tinted gold and green. looks like we both won. Nice seeing you again Sedna, sorry i can't stay and chat Lunair wants to go and talk to some one." Lyna said as she grinned at them, she waved and startted to walk again. When they finally reached the feeding feilds she looked around for the girl and Xesuth, Lunair flew over everyone's heads trying to spot her and the little white.

Damilae was in the feeding grounds. She patted Xesuth's hide, staring at the dragonet. Looking up, Damilae saw Lunair flying. She waved to the dragon. When she looked down from Lunair and saw Lyna. "Hey~" She said dreamily.

“of course, thank you” Sedna said with a soft surprised tone at Lyna, giving her one of her rare smiles before bowing her head in greeting as she passed. She had not thought she’d been so noticed by the silver haired woman but it was a pleasant surprise…. Perhaps Sheryn wasn’t the only one who ever noticed she existed after all…

"Hey, i never caught your name from before. Your really lucky to have impressed Xesuth." She said as she walked over towards her, she motioned to Lunair to land. By time she got over to her Lunair was already looking over the young White as if she was expectting something different from her/him. "It feels wonderful doesn't it?" she asked as she leaned against Lunair and scratched her on the eye ridge, she made a content thrumming noise, Lyna couldn't help but smile.

Damilae sighed. "It does feel nice. Like having someone else in your heart and head." She looked over at the woman. "Oh, I apologize. I am Damilae, who are you again. I'm sure you've told me but i can't remember..." She smiled warmly.
~Hi!~ Xesuth turned her head towards the mature dragon Lunair.

~Hello little one. I am Lunair. Welcome~ Lunair said as she touched Xesuth's forehead with her nose breathing lightly on her.

"Nice to meet you Damilae. I am Lyna and you already know Lunair's name." Lyna said as she smiled at the girl, she was glad that she felt good after impressing Xesuth. "You won't be able to ride her until she is fully grown."

~She can ride me with Xesuth with her. Tell her Lyna~ Lunair said as she nudged Lyna in the shoulder to get her to tell them.

"Lunair said she would be glad to take you and Xesuth flying sometime." Lyna said as she raised an eyebrow at her dragon, she turnned back towards Damilae and smiled, she held her hand out to shake hers, she liked the girl.

R'el immediately turned his head to look at white haired girl, a smile crept into a mischevious shape on his face. His eyes lingered over the blue dragon for a while, calculating and thinking something cunning by the looks of it. Zephira's deep growl could be heard from outside, he sounded proud like a victorious beast. It wasn't to scare younglings, it was a kind of greeting, and his way of showing his approval on is rider's track of thoughts. And when he had the chance, he studied features of the girl briefly. Silent she was, full of thought her dark eyes were swiming in though.

~I don't like the way your thoughts portray this rider.~Zephira commented.

"Not exactly what I had on my mind..." he murmured, in a mysterious deep voice. He sounded loud and casual when he spoke again though; "Still it might sound unreasonable, since it's not a usual... I still think though, Zephira can outdo a blue in a race. We could do it on Ista, I'm sure it's not impossible in other weyrs." he turned to Sedna, bowing with his head in a courteous way. "Maybe after I secure a position among southern or fort weyr. See you around." R'el turned fromt he girl with a smile.

He grinned with a low chuckle at Lyna's words as she passed by him.

"Yeah, it seems so. Take care white rider." he winked at the silver haired rider.

He walked to Selea, a determined smile sitting on his face. Bronze rider stopped before the lady, this seemed like a scary task now, but better now than never.

~If you happen to fail this one with an outstanding performance, I shall bite off your head.~ the bronze's voice echoed grimly.

"Weyrwoman Selea?" he paused before continuing, waiting for the attention of the weyrwoman. Then his eyes met hers, blue clashing with a mysterious shade of green. "I heard that you were in need of a rider."

Sedna watched his expression, curiosity all that showed in her dark eyes. She couldn’t help but smile a little in return, though she was curious about him studying her so closely… she was not ue to such intense study. And it gained her curiosity even further. Yet she said nothing, though there was a brief flicker of something….almost a fear in the back of her gaze.

As he spoke, however, she seemed to cheer a little, giving him a warmer smile then he would have seen from her so far. “I would like that” Was her only reply. She gave him a light bow as he left, turning to den who was currently nipping at one of her pigtails to try and get her attention.

~I wannna play…. ~

“Go play sweet one…” She cooed back with a smile.

~ I want you to come play with me…. The hatching’s almost over anyway…. ~

“I can’t….besides, we might get a race if we stick around.”

~Race? Oooh sounds good. Nobody races us back at the weyr anymore…oooh a blue hatchling…bye Se‘Se~ Sedna merely nodded and watched the other fly off with a chuckle. She then glanced to R’el, her eyes lingering on him a moment. This….would be interesting.

Selea turned, all signs of frustration leaving her face. Her Bright icy blue eyes brightening and stating into his. "Yes?...I am Selea....A new rider? Well, we always need new riders. We have recently been running very low on our level of dragon riders. This Hatching's dragons will need training so yes." She studied his face a moment. "What may I ask is your name, and which Wyer are you currently from?"She asked plainly as if it were an everyday occurance. "Southern, Benden, Telgar?" She waved her hand slowly pointing the Wyers out on the map in her mind.

Damilae shook the woman's hand with little force, very relaxed. "I would love to." She looked at Xesuth. "WE would love to. Mabye in a week or so."
Xesuth nudged back playfully in return. ~Thank y-...I'm not That little....Heh.~

"None of those. I'm R'el, bronze rider of Zephira, from Ista weyr." young man said proudly. "Small one indeed, and less riders compared to other weyrs. But apperantly they could spare one or two." he added as an after thought.

~Hatchlings to train? Soon we'll be in the sky, thankfully.~ he said in an low grunt.

<Well, it's not the first time we'll be doing it. Besides kids love you.>

~Kids do fear me, for good reason.~ dragon's amused rumbling echoed in R'el's mind.

"We're ready to leave as soon as you say." he added smiling, with a polite nod of his head.

Sheryn smiled from her spot up in the stands. All of the eggs had hatched, and all had Impressed. Good turnout, really. -How big do you think your next clutch will be, lovely?-
~Probably about as big. Maybe a touch smaller. It depends on the flight.~
-Right. And the Bronze.- She looked down to where Selea was talking to another rider. -Who's he?-
~Istan bronze-rider.~
-I'm short bronzes... you should be rising soon, we should get some from the other Weyrs, give you a wide selection...-

"I will," she murmered, pushing away from the railing and walking over to the ones who were there. "And we'll have to get T'ran out before you do..."


Hamon hugged Fenghuang close to him, smiling into her hair. "So... now what?" he murmered, brushing some of her hair out of her face.
