Fable 3 Roleplay, with a twist (Accepting!)

Role-play Set Up

You need not know any of the fable lore or even have played any of the games. This is just based in the fable III world, thirty years after the game actually, with a slight twist on the way magic is used. For those of you who do not know the world I will describe it. Also I will include as few spoilers as possible for the fans out there! There should be next to none in terms of spoilers in this role-play. Onward to description.

I will say now that I want to keep this a semi-literate thread so keep posts four sentences plus at all times, if you need help coming up with what to post I would be happy to help. Also I understand spell errors happen, especially typing words that are actually other words!, but at least run your post through a spell check or type it in a browser with spell check built in. I do not want to read a post with 5 'thes' spelled like 'tehs'.

Follow Menewsha rules, if you are unsure what Menewsha rules role-playing rules, to reinstate some of the ones I find most important look below:

Cursing is fine, and my character will be doing it quite a bit. Just make sure it is in character when you do it and do not over do it (a curse word each sentence or every other sentence is over doing it).

Pg13 romance is fine, thought id just say this one even thought it is in menewsha rules. Just as long as the curtain closes when it gets past that point I am fine with romance.

Attacking other peoples characters is just fine as well. The only thing I ask is no auto hitting other people, for example do not describe as your bullet rips through their shoulder leave it up to them to be hit. With that kept in mind also know that heroes have limits too, especially when fighting hordes of enemies or other heroes. If you have a high hardiness you should role-play like your character is able to recover and receive damage better. Though having an extra rank in hardiness does not guarantee a win, just play it fair especially when fighting another hero/heroine.

Also do not drag other people along or move other characters. Obviously if everyone is already heading towards a location (like talking in a group and walking for a destination) it is ok to move them closer to that destination.

Overall just use your brains when posting, do to other people what you want done to you.

Try not to ignore other characters and please be able to post once every three days or so. Also do not post to often, doing that can confuse people who do not post as much as you do (if you have questions on how many posts is to many posts ask me).

Plot

Albion has a culture much like that of England when they were first discovering steam power but with a little flare of its own. The world of Albion is a place where steam power has just come into use. Guns have been around for a while but only recently have they became able to shoot more than one shot before reloading, coming with a clip anywhere from two to ten before replacing the ammo cartridge. Though swords are still widely used in Albion armor has dwindled in production due to the increased use of guns. Factories now begin to make their way into Bowerstone Industrial but a threat was looming in the darkness and surfacing in the shadows of the world.

Thirty years ago this great threat came upon the people, and the new hero King was forced to take action. They gave up some of the things they became used to in order to prepare, and when it came they were ready. The war against the evil was successful and it was utterly defeated with minimal civilian casualties.

With the war over Albion was able to rebuild. In the thirty years that followed much progress was made to that fact. New ships soon arrived in the harbor from other kingdoms, it seems that the Kingdom of Albion was not alone in this world after all. They brought strange goods and new heroes with them, the King soon formed a treaty with them and trade began to boom in Albion. Albion itself started producing more heroes as well, and since the King had built a new hero guild they had some place to learn and train.

Map

This map is one that I made of Fable 3, it is impossible to find a full map like this I searched everywhere! So I made one, sorry if the quality is lacking but I believe I did a good job if I do not say so myself :P. Warning, this is a spoiler in a sense. This map is the full map of Albion as according to Fable 3, Albion is not the world, but only a kingdom in the world.

Albion

Town Descriptions
Town Name (Population estimate): Descriptionnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Bowerstone Castle: The nobles who advise the king and oversee different parts of the kingdom hold their primary home here. This is by far the richest place in Albion and it shows. Big houses for important people, lush gardens, and most importantly the King and his castle.

Bowerstone Industry: While renovated in the last thirty years this town has the name Industry in it for a reason. This is the center of Albion production, all of Albion's factories are located here along with the cramped houses of the people who work here. Also the center of Albion's trade with the world, a large harbor is located here and due to the spike of foreign trade this town is rapidly changing into a better place to live. Under Bowerstone Industry is actually another town, Understone which is also provides housing for those who work in the huge industrial complexes of Bowerstone Industry.

Bowerstone Market: This used to be the center of trade of Albion and still stays busy. Middle class fill the houses here, most involved somehow in the trade that either passes through, on its way to the Bowerstone Industry shipyard or into Albion, or one of the many jobs that make this town one of the best places to live.

Bowerstone Old Quarters: Once a piece of land dedicated to the housing of the poor it was the first to be renovated by the Hero King after he took power. The houses are small to medium size and the people found here vary from poor to middle class. There is a port here and while some trade goes on here it is primarily used for fishing.

Brightwall: The people who live here define middle class, many of them thrive on trade to Mistpeak Valley and the Dweller camp both of which have no other way to get goods from the rest of Albion except for the road that passes right in-front of Brightwall. The town's value skyrocketed out the roof when the library was restored, the largest library in Albion, and the hero guild was built behind it. The population of this town has only grown.

Driftwood
: These people were once hidden from the rule of the King of Albion but after the rebellion was successful they returned to the rule of Albion. This 'town' stretches over three very small coastal islands that are connected by walking bridges. While the town consists of wagons and a small makeshift port the people there are happy. Most make a living through fishing, some by town upkeep, and even fewer still as explorers with the backing of the King.

Dweller Camp: Not originally considered part of the Kingdom of Albion the Dweller Camp is a cold environment with heavy snowfall three of the four seasons. The people here live in wagons and are considered poor but content. They are very much about the collected, and together hunt the surrounding game. The lumber industry here is also booming.

Mercenary Camp: Home to hirelings, prostitutes, and upstart mercenaries. This is the only 'town' that does not need any guards and does not have any guards. People here are free to live as they would, and many live in tents or small cabins when they are not away from home. While the law may be very flexible here, anyone with a large bounty on their head would not want to be consider this place a hideout. The mercenaries operate under full authority of the King of Albion, and if caught committing criminal actions are prosecuted accordingly.

Millfields: While some of the nobles call Bowerstone Castle their home the less influential ones or simply people with a lot of money make their houses here. The river that runs through his town pools into a lake that lays in the center of the huge houses that surround it.

Mistpeak Valley
: This is a valley located between Brightwall and the Dweller Camp. Few people call this home and danger is still abound here. Many bandits wait to jump caravans passing through here while wild almost rabid wolf attacks are often reported. This is the necessary path to get back and forth between Brightwall and the Dweller Camp.

Morningwood: Located in the middle of the only swamp in Albion the people here are very laid back. The center of town consists of a few shops and some large houses but most people who live here take residents in whatever they can be it tents, shacks, or otherwise. A run through the Bowerstone Industry sewers will eventually take you to a location quite close to Morningwood though it is much sanitary than the location it used to be in.

Silverpines
: A small village in the center of the Silverpine woods, there are very few reasons for anyone to want to come here. Constantly under the threat of Balverine attack (werewolves who have been fully transformed into the beast) it is hard to make a living here. The people here care for each other, and rarely leave the village. If one looks around they can see that everywhere the eye looks there are torches burning a substance that deters Balverines. The few exports that come from here are Balverine related and this is the best place to look for weapons that dispatch of the beasts.

Sunset Home
: Once a haunted mansion it has been restored by the King who seems to have a special connection the ghost that haunts the grounds. While no one actually lives here it is a key location in Albion. Many explorers and scientists go here to see or study the being that haunts the Mansion. The mansion is a burnt wreckage during the day, but at night is rebuilt and comes alive. The ghost there reportedly used to kill those who entered but now enjoys friendly games of life size chess with those who explore its halls.

Heroes

This is for those of you not familiar with 'heroes' as they appear in the Fable universe. A hero is essentially someone of any ethnicity or gender that is born with a uniqueness about them. Heroes will birth other heroes if they reproduce with a normal person or another hero and heroes can be born to non-heroes on occasion.

In this role-play you will be playing a hero, though you need not be from Albion. Those of hero blood heal faster, are resistant to illness, can fall over five stories and live (this does not mean you will be fine! The hero probably will be hurting for a while as in a couple of days.), and can do other amazing things such as wield magic.

Isaac Levis 11-22-2010 06:33 PM

Magic

Any hero can use magic, some are more skilled in it in than others through repeated practice. The use of magic tests ones mental willpower and stamina. While able to cast magic without the use of any channeling device it is much more taxing and harder to control. Albion developed a device called a spell gauntlet (creative I know) which allow them to channel a particular spell making it much easier to cast (though it still taxes their mental strength some to do so just as it taxes someones physical strength to swing a sword).

These spell gauntlets are designed with a disk just under the size of a closed fist placed in the top of them. The disks are interchangeable and each represent a different spell, changing a disk takes approximately ten to fifteen seconds not counting the time it takes to retrieve from wherever you stored it and put back the one you took out.

Other Kingdoms may have developed other ways of channeling magic, seeing as they too had heroes, though Albion has yet to adopt any of them. If you make a hero from another kingdom let me know if you want to use something other than a spell gauntlet and what your idea is.

Isaac Levis 11-22-2010 06:34 PM

Experience System

This is the twist I mentioned in the name of this thread. I structured a very simple system for heroes to gain experience and spend those said experience points (or xp for short) in order to master new abilities or improve the ones they already have. First I will explain what certain words mean that I will refer to often.

Attributes
Hardy: Represents a character's stamina and physical toughness.
Melee: Stands for combat ability with all melee weapons.
Ranged: Conveys combat ability with all ranged weapons.
Magic: Represents the heroes ability to use magic, increasing spell strength and spells that the hero can master as more ranks are obtained.
Stealth: Allows for hero to engage in shady activities easier such as, but limited to, stealing, hiding, and moving silently.

All of these attributes are upgraded by spending experience, every hero will start with one rank in each attribute except for stealth. Attributes consist of four ranks (except for stealth which consists of 2 ranks).

Ranks can be explained like this
Rank 1: Well above average
Rank 2: Master
Rank 3: Grand Master
Rank 4: Legendary

Stealth works differently in that it only has 2 ranks
Rank 0: Very little skill in sneaking
Rank 1: Skilled in the arts of stealth the character can be compared to a very talented thief.
Rank 2: Character is considered a stealth master and posses near inhuman abilities to remain unseen when he/she chooses to be.

The following is how much it costs to buy more ranks in each attribute.
Hardy: upgraded to rank 2 spend 200 xp, upgrade to rank 3 spend 400 xp, upgrade to rank 4 spend 700 xp.
Melee: upgrade to rank 2 spend 300 xp, upgrade to rank spend 700 xp, upgrade to rank 4 spend 1200 xp.
Ranged: Same xp spent as with melee.
Magic: Same xp spent as with melee.
Stealth: upgrade to rank 1 spend 300 xp, upgrade to rank 2 spend 600 xp.

Experience points can also be spent on spells. The spell list is provided in another post. The following is how much a spell costs, in order to buy a spell the hero must first have enough ranks in magic to learn it. The hero will eventually be able to have the option of gaining the ability to cast more than one spell at a time as well.

Spells requiring 1 rank in magic: 100 xp cost each
Spells requiring 2 ranks in magic: 200 xp cost each
------ability to cast 2 spells at once: 200 xp cost
Spells requiring 3 ranks in magic: 300 xp cost each
Spells requiring 4 ranks in magic: 400 xp cost each
------ability to cast 3 spells at once: 400 xp cost

That is it. There are no in game limitations or strict rules regarding what your character can and can not do but being true to the limitations of your character is encouraged, and rewarded.

A character can earn xp by going on a mission, of which all characters will be involved as to not split the RP up, the following checklist will decide how much a character is rewarded for their efforts:
Combat is had: 50xp
-----Extreme Combat?: 50 additional xp
Role-play is had: 100xp
-----Character forced to make tough decision: That hero gains 50 additional xp
-----Character was believable: That hero gains 50 additional xp
Base xp reward for completing mission: Anywhere from 100-500xp
-----If mission is not completed half the xp is still rewarded

That leaves a range of 150 xp (lowest, 50 for quest and 100 for role-play even if it is terrible) to 800xp (everything checked off). With the normal laying around 300-500xp.

I would also consider giving xp for interactions between missions but it would be less and I am not sure exactly how I would do that. Right now I would probably just end up winging it based on role-play.

Assuming anyone actually read all of this, let me know what you think :]. I would like suggestion, comments, and questions just PM me.

Heroes will start with 500 xp to spend and one rank in hardy, melee, ranged, and magic.

Spell List
Obtaining more ranks in magic increases the power of the spell, duration, number of targets it can effect if used as an area of effect, and a larger area the spell is effective.

Spell list so far: (more can be added upon request provided and description of the spell if it approved)

Magic rank 1 required:

Battle Charge: You rush the enemy at blinding speeds attacking them and knocking them down upon arrival. Other heroes may be able to block in time before the attack is completed.

Chaos: Confuses those in an area around the caster. Heros are more likely to recover from the effect quicker. Can be concentrated at a single foe for greater effect and duration.

Ice Storm: A storm of ice can be formed around the user, or it can be centered around an enemy. The enemies in the ice storm are slowed and take a little bit of damage from the storm.

Inferno: A blast of fire in the form of a concentrated fire ball or a wave of fire around the hero.

Lightning: A single lightning bolt at an enemy or a area around the user is electrified. This spell does slightly less damage than inferno but stuns the targets.

Magic rank 2 required:

Spell weaving: The hero can now wear two spell gauntlets. Spell weaving is not a spell, it is the ability to combine spells and cast them as if they were just one mashed together spell. Examples being a fire tornado (inferno + vortex), or casting a shield spell over a friend and they slowly heal inside (shield + heal). You must know the spells before hand and be trained in spell weaving. You may choose to only use one of the gauntlets and only cast that one spell if you wish.

Berserk: Changes your physical appearance making you bigger and stronger. The user runs faster and is overall more effective in combat for a short period of time. Note: This spell is for augmenting physical capabilities, not replacing them with a spell. (Evil characters gain more benefit from using this spell)

Blades: The ability to summon large ghostly swords and hurl them at your enemies. These can be thrown in all different direction around you or target one enemy specifically.

Vortex: A swirling tornado can be guided towards a group of enemies or summoned around the mage. This spell is not efficient for damage, but does do a good job of rendering your foe helpless in the air.

Force push: Can be directed at single foe or as an area around you the effect being things falling down or objects being pushed over.

Ghost sword: A ghost sword that is summoned to your side to help fight for you in battle.

Heal: Physically cures the body of diseases, seals up wounds, revitalizes, and
can save a target from the brink of death. This can be cast on another or yourself.

Turncoat: Essentially a mind control spell that turns enemies against each other. In order to get the enemy to do something it would absolutely not do under any circumstance, like killed a loved one, it might break free and has a exceptionally greater chance to if that target is another hero.

Magic rank 3 required:

Drain life: Saps the energy of another, this energy then is given to the mage who used the spell or can be placed into an ally who is willing to accept another's life energy (an evil act).

Invisibility: Renders the user unable to see for a short period of time, he still makes all sounds as normal and his boots still leave prints.

Raise dead: The ability to call on ghosts or raise fallen friends or foes from the grave to simply ask them questions or have them fight for you. In order to ask answer question an offering is often asked by the ghost which is usually in the form of an errand that they never got the chance to take care of themselves. (This spell is mastered easier and is more potent when used by those of Evil alignment)

Shield: Forms a barrier that protects the user from harm for a limited time or a limited amount of physical abuse which ever is reached first. This does not block from spells that do not have a direct physical effect on the body (exs: drain life, turn coat, chaos...). This shield can be placed on another instead.

Teleport: Teleports the user to a location of his choosing. This spell can range from teleportation of ten feet to teleporting between towns and bringing friends with you.

Magic rank 4 required:

Spell weaving II: This extends the number of spells able to weave together by one. Now three spells can be cast at once but the strength is slightly diminished of two of them for they now share the same gauntlet. One of your spell gauntlets has been altered to have the ability to have two spell disks stack on top of each other and create a duel spell effect through one gauntlet. If you were to do this to both gauntlets your body would rip apart when you attempted to cast all four spells at once.

Radiate good: Only use-able by good characters this projects your aura out around you harming all things that do not share your alignment. Especially harmful to evil creatures or humans.

Radiate evil: Only use-able by evil characters this projects your aura out around you harming all thins that do not share your alignment. Especially harmful to good creatures or humans.

Revive: The hero is actually able to revive the dead, not for a few minutes, or a few hours, but returning them to life as they once had it. This spell is extremely exhausting to perform, but others who know the spell may join in to lessen the burden on any one person who is attempting to revive the target. This only works on one target and the longer the spell takes to complete the less energy it takes from the user, though some energy will always be spent on part of the caster. This spell can not be used in combination with any other spell and the target comes back alive with very little reproductions though the longer they have been dead the more ill effects they will suffer. (Heroes raised back with this suffer a -100 xp penalty per twenty four hours the body is without a pulse. A normal person may not be raised back after more than twenty four hours of being dead but a hero has no such limit). (Good heroes are less exhausted from the use of the spell and the one who they are reviving halves the normal xp penalty).

Character Skeleton
Assuming anyone is still reading here is the format I would like your character to be PMed to me with. Please only one character per person.
Controller: Menewsha Avatar name :]
Name: Hero name
Gender: Hero or Heroine?
Age: Can be any age, though keep in mind your abilities will be limited in the beginning so ages between 15-25 are probably the best to pick. Also heroes did not start showing up back in Albion (being born) until after the hero King took his place on the throne thirty years ago. So if you are over thirty years of age and from Albion then you must have been in hiding before that.
Appearance: Please at least a paragraph, provide a picture as a additional resource if you want.
Bio: Two paragraph biography at least explaining where your character is from, what family they have, where they got their hero training (which should be in the guild for anyone from Albion). If they are from somewhere different explain a little bit of background of where they are from. If you can not come up with two paragraphs pm me what you have and we can work it out :]. This Fable wiki should be able to help, if you choose to use it.
Personality: A brief description.
Radiance: This is the hero's aura and it can change as the story progresses based on their decisions. It ranged from Good to Neutral to Evil and shades of gray in between. If you are in between two extremes state it like this: Good-Neutral or Neutral-Evil. Feel free to clarify how good or evil that may be with something like he/she is very inclined to do the good thing or only slightly inclined to. Auras display when the character does something that shows their true colors.
Characteristics: List of the characters attributes and their ranks, spells, and left over xp (if none put 0). Remember a starting character has 500 xp to spend and one rank in hardy, melee, ranged, and magic

Thank you for reading!

I hope we can have a very fun role-play, I am looking for 4-6 (8 max) role-players for this and we will start after getting 4. Here are some links to the OOC chat that we can use to help progress the story forward (which I will be making soon) and a link to the role-play request forum (which I will be updating soon).

Weapon Examples and Technology Available
After being asked more about what types of weapons were available in Albion I created this extra post to explain it. I also will add a more detailed explanation of what technology the world is likely to have available. This is a fantasy world and creativity is more than welcome, you are not confined to what I state in here but be careful walking the line between reasonable and unreasonable.

Weapons
Melee weapons that are found in Albion can be compared to weapons available during the medieval times in England with a little more splash of weapon variety. Some examples would include great swords, long swords, daggers, maces, two handed maces, spears, shields, and anything else you could place there. This does not limit the roleplay to just those weapons though, trade has increased in Albion and foreigners have brought new weapons from strange lands though keep in mind these weapons will cost you more gold.

Ranged weapons in Albion mostly consist of guns in their early stages of development. There are basically three types of guns. Rifles which have a long barrel and load a clip in the top number of bullets ranging from 4-6 depending upon the gun, pistols which load from the top and carry 8-10 shots per clip, and a shotgun type weapon which is most like a musket but is much more reliable and its spread is deadly. The shotgun shoots once before it is reloaded and it is reloaded by dumping gun powder and tiny bullets in the top and pushing it down with a cloth, it is a small time sacrifice to make after seeing your enemies torn to pieces in front of you.

Technology
I touched on this topic earlier, the technology of Albion revolves around their recent discovery of steam. Even their ships have been altered to run with a complicated engine along with sails to catch the power of wind and steam. Albion's ships are the fastest known, visitors often admire their design and speed. Other kingdoms will not be covered in this section, but use your imagination we probably will not come into contact with other places technology very much. Albion also has made attempts to create a land vehicle powered off of steam but none of those inventions are known to have succeeded.

The guild teleportation circles from the first games no longer work. They had been destroyed and run down, but one of the first things the new hero King of Albion did was to install the circles in each major town but they have not yet got out to hook coast. The teleportation seals are activated only by heroes and can only transport one to two people at a time and as such are used for guild business only.

I hope this helped!

Controller: MintyRey
Name: Tala Mayari
Gender: Heroine
Age: 25
Appearance: Tala is a short 5'4" young woman with sun tanned skin and green hair cut just above her shoulders. She has tattoos covering her back symbolizing her rank in the royal guard of her homeland. Originally a stylized picture of a winged wolf, Tala had the tattoo changed to that of a winged Balverine when she arrived at Witchwood for the first time. Because she hails from a land with a much warmer climate, her clothes are skimpier than the current fashions of Albion. Tala prefers to wear just a heavy hooded coat to protect herself from the cooler winds of Albion.

This is what her typical outfit looks like. Picture

Bio: It didn't come as a surprise that Tala was chosen to serve in her country's royal army. In her small homeland, she was one of the few heroes ever to be born in it's history. 'Hero' wasn't exactly the word used to describe them, as her people barely had contact with the outside world for decades. She was just a gifted child in their eyes, faster and stronger. The tyrannical royal family had banned magic throughout the desert country of Midi for as long as anyone could remember so it was harder still to tell that Tala had the potential to defeat opponents with more than just physical skill. It was only in her fourth year of service that she was promoted to Lieutenant of the Royal Guard, bringing great honor for the small Mayari clan. But just a year after that, a month after her 24th birthday, a revolution took place and although she participated in every battle to quell the rebels, the downfall of the unpopular monarchy was inevitable. After a new government was built, trade with the outside world was made easier and Tala found herself hired as Chief of Security for a lucrative trading company. Through her new career she found out about magic, Albion and the newly established Guild of Heroes.
Tala eventually quit her job to pursue her newfound dream of learning magic and becoming a 'legendary Hero'. The first part of Albion she ever reached was the frigid Hook Coast which was the closest port boats from Midi could reach. It was a shock for sure, as the climate greatly differed from the warmth she was used to. However, Tala adapted quickly with the help of thick fur coats purchased at the local shops. Because no ship at Hook Coast was heading towards the mainland at the time, she agreed to escort a traveling caravan to Knothole Glade where another ship would bring her through Bowerstone and all the way down to Silverpines. From there she was on her own until she finally made it to Brightwall.
Personality: Tala is a woman who can never pass through a region without finding something to complain about. Hook Coast was understandably deplorably freezing for Tala but Aurora wouldn't fare any better. She would definitely say that the weather's too hot and that the sand gets in everything, just as she often did back in Midi. She considered Witchwood a damp and soggy forest and Knothole Glade was just as wet. But at least all the different kinds of odd people made up for Albion's so far unsavory geography. She is definitely a people person and enjoys hearing all kinds of stories from the bards, merchants, and tavern goers. Tala isn't very materialistic and can be generous when the mood suits her. But she is also quite shrewd and takes everything with a little salt. She isn't above looting from defeated enemies.

Controller
: Isaac Levis
Name: Adel Cala Elissiah
Gender: Heroine
Age: 20
Appearance: Adel provides the almost exact normal height for Albion women standing at five foot and seven inches weighing at one hundred and thirty pounds of tone muscle. She has shoulder length light brown hair with a slight curl to it framing a soft face with a touch of tan and pale green eyes. While preferring to wear more formal clothing she understands that is impractical and expensive so she instead keeps flares of formality in her day to day clothes.
She sports many different outfits but her favorite consists of a long sleeve red top with, a tan sports corset put on over her shirt, forearm length dark leather gloves with a tan spiral to match the corset, a simple belt (which is not seen because of the corset), dark pants, and traveling boots. The left glove has a slot on the top for the placement of a guild disk to allow easier casting. On her back rest two slender short swords with decorative writing along the middle of each blade and her family seal pressed into the bottom of each hilt by a hot iron 'stamp' long ago. Her right side holsters a single pistol with her family crest just recently drawn onto the wooden end of it.
Bio: Her mother and father used to be nobles that worked close with the King of Albion until he was over thrown by the rebellion lead by the Hero King some thirty years ago. After the event it was found that her parents had become corrupt and their title, along with most of their money, was stripped and they were cast out of Bowerstone with the other corrupt Nobles. Almost ten years after leaving the castle Adel was born.
The bitterness of her parents was passed down onto her and soon enough Adel was left hating exactly what they did. She was raised believing that her rightful place was among the King's court and that such a life was ripped from her and her parents by the rebellion. After displaying early talents and intellect beyond her age Adel was taken to the guild at the age of twelve. Since then she has lived there and her powers grew with training. Though showing much promise Adel was always seen as dangerous with a determination shown by few other young heroes. Now she has finally been given the rest of her family heirlooms, which before now simply set on display in her parent's house collecting dust.
Personality: Over confident, superiority complex, ruthless, and determined are some words that can be used to describe her. Adel strives to win at everything she does and once she sets her sights on something she will stop it nothing to get it. She holds herself with a stature that shows education and the knowledge of proper manners a posture. Appearance is very important to her, and Adel must always look her best. A sense of humor is virtually unknown to her and she values seriousness and to the point conversations.

Controller: Nee
Name: Galavan Edric Colburn
Gender: Hero
Age: Twenty-Two (22)
Appearance: Galavan is averagely tall, standing at about 6'0" and weighing about 165 lbs. He is well-built on an average scale, though not overly-muscular. He has lightly tanned skin, dirty blond hair that he always seems to be brushing back, and teal-colored eyes. He normally wears loose-fitting and flexible yet somewhat stylish clothes of this type, which is usually always coupled with a hat.
Bio: Galavan was born in Albion, raised by his grandparents after the passing of his mother and father in a caravan raid. His parents had been couriers and were planning on passing the courier business down to him. However, things didn't turn out that way in the end. Living with his grandparents in a small, somewhat cut-off town, Galavan began having a fascination with guns and other types of weaponry. It was only shortly after that that he started showing 'heroic' signs. Fearing they'd lose him as they lost his parents, his grandparents tried to discourage any and all means of 'violence' or any action really, only wanting him to stay in town and be an innkeeper or baker. But when he turned sixteen, Galavan made it clear that he was sick of being cooped up in the small town and was ready for bigger things. For adventure. And so, he set off, so sooner finding himself in Albion's very own mercenary camp. He stayed at the camp, having been welcomed in by its inhabitants, and learned many things when it came to survival. He learned about heroes and magic and the many weapons and technology of Albion, even its vast history: things his grandparents kept secret from him in fear of losing him. He stayed with the mercenaries, doing odd jobs here and there himself, for three years. He considered the mercenaries at the merc. camp family, but now at the age of nineteen, he was ready for more. The mercenaries informed him about the Heros Guild, and told him that if he really wanted adventure, to join them. He was reluctant at first, but after another year of being a mercenary, was convinced and left the camp for Brithtwall Village to join the Heros Guild, at the age of twenty. He's stayed at the Hero's Guild for two years now, and though he might think he's seen everything, it seems he still has much to learn...
Personality: A clever and witty guy who always seems to be a source of entertainment, loving good humor and even better conversation. He is often a social butterfly when around people, especially with a drink in hand, and is often flirtations with the women, always seeming to pride on his 'good looks'. And, though he can be a bit greedy at times and a little bigheaded about certain things as well, he is generally a nice guy who isn't fond of drama and only wishes to have a good time.
Radiance: Good-Neutral. Galavan prides on looking out for number one, and doesn't claim to be loyal to anyone but himself. However, he has been known to go out of his way to help someone in need, often even beating himself up over such a thing. He doesn't like considering himself good, however, priding on the fact that he only claims to care for himself.

Controller: Angelo
Name: Tali Paendrag
Gender: Heroine
Age: 15 years old.
Appearance: Due to living in the icy far north, she is literally as pale as a ghost when compared to the people of Albion. As a result, she gets sunburned quite easily, and therefore carries aloe vera in her beat up traveling pack. Her face is often reddish as a result, giving her the appearance of always blushing. Standing at a mere 4' and weighing it at 23 pounds, she is a terrible melee fighter. As a tomboy, she often wears boyish clothing, such as trousers, shirts, and undergarments designed for boys. Her bright red hair is kept short, ending at her shoulders in a messy fashion. She has red eyes that seem to glow in the dark and give off their own light. Her frame is extremely thin for her height, giving her a severely lean look, almost as if she was a thick branch. Picture.

Bio: Tali has lived what is essentially a slave's life after her parents abandoned her. She grew up in the icy regions far to the north of Albion, where orphaned kids, such as her, are taken into slavery. She did very menial tasks, like sweeping, cleaning the house, helping with the animals, and working in the greenhouses, essentially buildings made of magnifying glass to increase the temperature inside. The work wasn't hard, but her masters were cruel, often treating her much like an animal, and beating her if she didn't meet their ridiculous time limits. It was especially hard as she was only as tall as an average kintergarden student, which made her an easy target for her masters' children. She also had to work ridiculously long lengths of time without breaks, and was lucky if she got a meal once a day.

A kind man from Albion, what she knew as the south, bought her from her masters after seeing their harsh treatment of her, essentially adopting her. Then, when her powers manifested themselves, he signed her up with the guild, despite the laughter he got from it. They didn't quite believe that such a small girl could be a Hero, but were proved wrong very quickly as she rapidly progressed. Ever since then, she has lived with the man on his estate in Brightwall, studying dutifully to make her surrogate father proud.
Personality: Tali is an extremely passionate individual; putting every fiber of her being into any task she deems worthy. She's also extremely loyal to those who have earned her affection, like her surrogate father; she truly believes she owes him her life, though he constantly disagrees. She is a generally kind, yet reclusive person, preferring to stick to herself than to hang out with a lot of other people.
Radiance:* Tali is of the Good-Neutral radiance. She's more than willing to do what she knows is right, but due to her harsh upbringing, she's not entirely sure what right is and how it differs from wrong.

This is a beautiful fall day in the city of Brightwall. The Fall season has come to Albion, the trees all around country have started to become different colors and a creeping coldness has been disrupting the warmness of summer. The people of the town and the residents of the recently built guild await a special day. The event is so big that all normal activities of the town have been put to rest for the day.

The guild of heroes has been re-built to pay homage to the original heroes guild. Inside of the giant three story castle like structure serves many purposes and very little of it remains unused. Areas of the guild castle are dedicated to certain purposes such as hero and heroine living quarters, a large mess hall, deliberation rooms, and even some small shops. Today the normally active guild castle boarders on emptiness just like the rest of the town of Brightwall.

All heroes and many of the villagers have gathered outside on this fine fall morning. Last night the final leaves turned colors from the traditional green color to an orange-yellow mix. The guild had been preparing for this moment all fall, the time had come where new groups of heroes will form to go out into the world. A day full of tests and trials await all heroes who have came to the guild be them new or senior students. If successful those chosen to form groups will go out into the world and while able to return to the guild their main source of learning will be outside of the protective walls.

Outside Teachers and students alike gather around the many training areas of the guild, from the gun ranges to the magic practice zone. One place in particular, however, is receiving extra attention. The dueling arenas, not specifically limited to one area, the arenas are the perfect place to test all of a hero’s senses and talent. Laced with spells the grounds of the arenas rarely see a death, combatants are forbidden from dealing killing blows and while the spells protect from death they do not hinder weariness or pain.

After the first round of deciding who might be ready groups are formed and after a series of different tests are given a pass or fail collectively. At the end of the trials there is a final test and although it changes every year it always has something to do with the surrounding area, the first mission the new group is given their success or failure deeming whether they stay together or get a new chance next year.

An instant after the whistle she was there with her sword at the ready. 'His draw is fast, but not fast enough.', Adel thought to herself as she brought her swords across his chest slicing through the fabric like a hot knife cuts through butter. She watched in a slow motion heightened sense of adrenaline filled awareness as flecks of blood scattered into the air.

'I need to make this fight count, this is the last one before groups will be formed', Adel thought to herself while gritting her teeth. The blow she landed could barley be considered an attack at all, but it sent her gun-slinging opponent on the defensive. Seizing the opportunity she laid into full force in a flurry of attacks that kept him off balance. After landing a few good slices to his upper arms and a strike with the pummel of her sword to his gut the gunslinger was able to roll away from the onslaught.

Adel turned and took a bullet in her shoulder before receiving another one in her lower abdomen. The gun rang out after each shot but the sounds were dulled to her ears as a stinging pain built up in her wounded areas. With a loud grunt she shrugged off the intense pain and closed the distance, but not before he landed another shot on her. The pain brought new energy to Adel's swings, those witnessing the fight could see the ferociousness in her eyes.

A shot later, which ended up missing, and another battle rush into her opponent's midst the duel was over. With the last blow Adel roared like an animal before sending one of her swords through the gunslinger's gut, ramming the blade through to the hilt. In one swift, almost graceful, motion Adel withdrew her sword and returned her weapons to their sheaths.

Turning away from the fallen foe Adel listened to the soft thump of the man hitting the ground. Adel displayed a confident smirk as she approached the edge of the small area the fight was held in and sat in a chair awaiting the medical attendants. While sitting there she observed how those same attendants rushed over to the fallen hero. Replaying the scene in her mind Adel knew that he would live especially after the swift arrival of healers.

She wiped her brow of the sweat that pooled there as the adrenaline worked its way out of her system. A dull pain started returning to the areas which she had been shot but Adel did her best to ignore it. 'I know I made the cuts, there is no way they can deny me this year', she thought to herself, 'I wonder who will be grouped with me... and if any of them were watching.'

Adel looked out into the large crowd that was watching her area, the 'judges' were in their little huddle talking amongst themselves. Her smile only grew as she saw the disgusted look on most of the onlooker's faces. A fight did not normally end like that, it usually resulted in a surrender of one party to the other but Adel was not about to let up to give the man any undeserved chances to attack.

Sighing she leaned back into the chair and began to move her aching shoulder with the opposite hand. This morning had been a long one, after these last few matches it would be time for the announcement of groups followed by lunch. Just thinking about the feast that the guild had prepared for today had her stomach rumbling.

puppetmaster999 12-05-2010 02:51 AM

Kyle watched as the girl fought her opponent. It was amazing how she fought. He never thought Heroes could take damage like that. He was never a good fighter and hadn't learned very much about fighting while he was here. He was a pacifist. He didn't like fighting but he felt that he needed to learn how to get over himself. He was the next to go up for the trials and he didn't expect to get in to the Heroes' ranks this year. He wasn't a fighter but before he got his powers he was a trained acrobat. He could flip over a ten foot wall... and that was before he had gotten his powers. He had tried to do that here and actually estimate he went three or four feet above that. That is how he was planning to defeat his opponent, flipping over them and applying pressure to specific points on their body to make them collapse.

(Time Lapse)

The man Kyle was forced to fight was a giant at least 6'7" would held a large sword in his hand. Apparently his name was Polis and Kyle's small pair of daggers didn't seem like they'd do much to his thick skin. Polis was obviously from a equatorial climate. He was tanned and marked with black tribal markings. He wore very little clothing, a loincloth and some tribal necklaces made of animal teeth. Kyle wavered at his readiness for this challenge. He wasn't cut out for this. He was a runaway from a foreign land. He wasn't a fighter. He was a reader, a student, a scholar. He never wanted these powers but got them anyway. He was a good son and his father and mother exiled him themselves. No... He shouldn't be here.

Before Kyle even realized the whistle had blown his opponent was upon him. He was swinging wildly and before Kyle could dodge the man brought the sword across Kyle's shoulders. "Ha... This should be easy," the man mocked. That did it. HE hated being underestimated. That set him off. Kyle began to stab at the man. He couldn't seem to connect and that got him even angrier. He hated people would could beat him, mostly because they were always very cocky about it afterward. His agitation caused him to some a mass of lightning that was sent flying towards his opponent. ((Note: Purchased lightning for 100 xp.)) Polis went down and was out for the count. He had won. Although because he had seen the heroes before him take blows to the face and chest and still keep going, he didn't understand how he had knocked polis out then, as he approached, weary from his first use of magic, he noticed just where his blast had hit, the exact pressure points he had used to paralyze opponents with his daggers. Lucky shot I guess. Then he left, glad he had won.

"And down he goes.", the woman muttered, her purple eyes following the wounded form of the man as he slumped to the ground. It wasn't long before medics came to his aid, giving a sense of relief to most of the civilian onlookers. This was a particularly nasty fight. Yet that was to be expected when the opponent was particularly nasty herself.

She glanced over to the confident young winner before returning her sights to the bloodied man in the small arena. Tala sighed, burying her face in her arms as she rested them on the large stone fence surrounding the ring. That was Adel for you, never letting up, not even an inch. The cloaked woman was glad she didn't have to go up against her at all today. She was done with her fight, it was two matches before Adel's. But unlike the passionate ex-noble, Tala stopped as soon as her opponent called a quits.

It wasn't an easy fight. The guildmate she went up against was adept with magic and loved to blast out Lightning whenever she got the chance. Tala had to focus on dodging for most of the battle. However, the fact that she could take more damage than her enemy certainly helped and though she got hit a few times, she wasn't easily stunned. Metal might not have been the best choice of material for the weapons she carried in this match, but steel throwing knives and a rifle were what she brought and what she had to deal with.
She could still feel the electricity from the last couple of times she was hit when she threw a set of four knives, quickly followed by a set of five. Of course, those were just for a distraction she hoped the mage would bite. As soon as she saw her dodge to the left, Tala quickly followed with rifle at the ready. She saw the woman's shocked face when the mage noticed the gun pointed towards her. No doubt she was about to throw another bolt her way. But Tala already fired.
The Midian was glad that her last minute plan worked. Without wasting any time, the warrior closed the gap between her and her foe, keeping her rifle aimed at the magic user in case she should get up. Fortunately, her opponent resigned instead.

After Tala finished reminiscing on her last match, the woman straightened up from her reclined position and flexed her spine a bit. Waking up before sunrise to train, watching all the duels so far, and participating in her own truly wore her out. She couldn't wait until this was all over and they could eat. Plus it was getting cold out, what with the changing season and all. It was a wonder she didn't want to wear anything warmer. Whenever anybody asked, she would always complain about how thicker clothes would just hinder her movements. Pulling her heavy cape tighter around her, Tala resumed leaning on the stone fence and awaited the next match to be.

"Hurry up already....", she groaned. Though she wished for the event to be over, she was actually anxious about the judges' decisions and whether or not she would be in a team. She had only been at the Guild for eight months but felt going out on actual missions would be way more productive than just reading about how to be a Hero. After all, she already went through military training. The only thing she had enough patience for were Magic lessons. Unfortunately, the fussy woman had yet to learn any spells.

Another sigh escaped her lips before the next two fighters entered the ring. As soon as she saw who they were, Tala couldn't help but laugh.
"Oho..Oh no!", she exclaimed with a grin. The stark difference in the two fighters' sizes clearly amused her as well as some of the other spectators. "How're you going to win this Kyle?", she said to herself before leaning over even closer to get a good view.

But she knew better than to judge solely on size alone. Sure Polis was a real brute and sure Kyle was more of a bookworm than anything, but this was a free-for-all match. Anything could happen. True enough, the viewers were really surprised when the giant came tumbling down. Tala was even more surprised at how Polis could fall to just one hit of that spell when she took on more zaps during her own duel.

"Huh. Looks like he was weaker than I thought?", she wondered, though she clearly remembered him beating her easily in one of the first training sessions she took up at the Heroes Guild. Shrugging off her doubt, she waited once again for the next fight.

Armando awoke this morning revealing in its glory. He had been waiting for this day since last year, his group's defeat never sat well with him. He felt as though he should have done better, but even with a helping hand several other members were just not prepared. Armando assured himself, "This year will be different. I'm stronger and faster." he said out loud to himself as he dressed.

Arriving at the trial grounds, Armando threw himself immediately into the basic trials. He knew he should avoid the duels. He surpassed many of his peers in the various trials, but would avoided every opponent that challenged him to a duel. Two of whom, he outright told "no." This was well and good to him, until he caught eyes with the sword master. As he began to approach him, he knew what he would say: "Why haven't you been dueling;" or "What did we talk about?" Armando didn't know what to do, so he just froze.
The master approached, "Wow, you've done great today. What do you think you'll do next?"
Armando was nervously replied, "I'm not sure."
"Well, why not him" as the master gestures to an average looking hero, wearing a shield sword and a sporting an elegant pistol.
"Well, I could... but I think that they're about to start with the group announcements."
"Oh, no. That won't be for another hour. Go ask him, I've heard he's won every duel today. Make sure you show him that special move I showed you." replied the master. Resentfully, Armando went to the hero and requested a duel. The hero, George, snickered for a minute seeing his oversized shield, lack of armor and simple spear. "Alright, if you think you could keep up."

Armando slowly entered the arena; his opponent had already gotten the attention of the crowd, boastfully encouraging them to cheer. Armando moved slowly to his corner and just began to look at his feet. "Alright, I can do this. I don't have to win, just do well. I have to control myself. God, I wish I had just slept in today." he muttered this to himself over and over.
"The fight will begin in thirty seconds. Prepare yourselves." the announcer yelled. Armando didn't move as his opponent ripped out his sword and shield. He just kept looking at his feet. "Fight!" Armando remained still as his opponent charged, releasing a battle cry. Then at the last minute before the sword was brought down on him, Armando side steps and unleashes a fire ball to his opponent’s back. He reaches behind himself and pulls out his shield blocking the recoiling sword from his opponent. Surprised by Armando's agility, George takes a few steps back. He lunges his sword at Armando, who simply deflects it with the shield. The crowd could see the frustration building, as George throws a lightning bolt from his gauntlet at Armando. Armando takes the hit, but he barely fliches. He reaches up and grabs his spear, stabbing straight through George's blocks. As the spear lands and the point begin sinking into George's abdomen, fire erupts from Armando, engulfing him and George. George falls back, defeated, as a stunned crowd slowly begins to cheer for Armando. But the calm demeanor that Armando had displayed was a distant past, as rage washed over his face. It was all he could do, to simply walk back to his corner. He placed his shield and spear back on away and sat down. He didn't want to do that again today, but he knew he probably would.

Isaac Levis 12-09-2010 03:13 AM

While receiving healing Adel looked into the crowd once again and this time spotted a face that she recognized. The foreigner named Tala who came here not six months ago. Seeing her face on this day in particular sent Adel into a flash back of the last fight the two of them had.

Adel blinked herself back into the real world and noticed that Tala had left, probably to go see another fight. A proud smile returned to Adel's face, she was glad that Tala had been able to see her fight. It seemed that the two of them had been watching each other closely since Tala's arrival. Or at least it seemed that way to Adel, since being beaten by Tala upon her arrival Adel has taken an interest in her.

Glancing around she continued to catch bits and pieces of different fights while under the continued inspection of the healers. A fatigue was lifted off her as the final spells weaved their way through her body. Practically jumping to her feet she strutted away from the battle eager to see the last couple of fights before the Judges formed the groups and called for lunch.

She caught the tail end of a fight that ended with a large man putting a spear into one of the other heroes that Adel considered skilled to say the least. Then the spear wielding giant gave the crowd, and Adel, a finish to remember. The stabbed man was then engulfed in flames, ending the match. Adel clapped with the rest of them, she knew George would have never surrendered having similar views of failure as Adel has.

After the fight was over the judges seemed to congregate and walk off, one of the announcers confirmed Adel's suspicions, "The judges will now decide what heroes have been placed into groups and who must try again next year. Best of luck to you all."

With that the announcer walked off stage, and it was time for everyone to wait. Adel assumed that that the judges would take at least thirty to forty-five minutes but after ten minutes of biting her fingers the announcer walked back onto the small makeshift stage. Unfolding a piece of parchment the announcer began to read off the groups.

'Not in that group... nope.... no... no.', Adel listened intently for her name not showing an interest in the different groups. Finally a wave of relief washed over Adel as her group was announced, for a moment Adel thought that perhaps somehow she did not make the cut.

"Adel Elissiah, Armando the Armadillo, Kyle Gear, Galavan Colburn, and Tala Mayari. And that is the last group, remember that these groups are not final and may be changed at any time. Thank you all for watching or attending the event this year, after a break for lunch the groups will be tested until a select few will receive the privilege of graduating the guild. Please come back in two hours from now to watch the rest of this grand event unfold.", the announcer promptly walked off stage and the crowd began to disperse.

Adel's eyes widened slightly at the list of names in her group, 'Tala is in my lot! How awesome is that.'. Chewing on the rest of the names Adel came up with some more background information on a few of them, but knew she would get to know them better at their reserved table in the dining area. So that is where Adel went, keeping an eye out for any of her group members on the way.

((Sorry I was not posting everyone, I was waiting to see if Nee would post. Expect more posts from me from now on :]. She probably is busy in reel life. I know that in my area we just had a ton of snow (a little over a foot) and I do not believe she is that far away, so maybe she got some of it.))

MintyRey 12-09-2010 06:31 PM

[That's okay. I was kind of waiting for Nee's post too but she's probably busy IRL ]

"Woooh!! YEAH!!!"

Tala's cheers, however, were drowned out by those of the crowd around her. She wasn't the only one impressed with the Armadillo's fight, the clapping and shouting around her were nearly deafening. That fiery finale was truly impressive and Tala could see how easily the intimidating Armando upheld the rumors about him.

It wasn't long after that when an announcement was made that held every guild member's attention, as well as that of the villagers. The judges were apparently ready to declare their ruling on who would be moving on to the next set of trials. Because the woman hadn't been at the Guild long enough to attend the past year's trials, she didn't know how odd it was for the groupings to be announced so soon.

One by one, the names of those chosen were called out and sorted into teams. Whenever Tala recognized a name called, she would always look around to find the owner in the crowd. Some where friends of hers and she would give them a small 'Congratulations' of sorts by waving at them if they saw her as well. As for the other people she looked for, she was just curious about how they looked. The main reason why the ex-desert dweller knew many of the names called out was because of the gossip that often followed them.

So, being a fan of the grapevine, it wasn't surprising that she knew the people she came to be stuck with. At least the hearsay about them, that is. The green haired girl had never actually talked with them except for when it came to asking about Guild related things. But those occasions were few and far between.

'Well, Armando the Armadillo was as tough as they say....', Tala thought, shifting her gaze from the announcer to the giant who easily stood out of the crowd before looking elsewhere. 'Galavan Colburn, the womanizer huh? I usually see him at the Guild pub.' She glanced around for the man's ever familiar hat but couldn't find it or him anywhere. 'Kyle Gear....Where is that bookworm?' Despite having spotted him a few minutes ago, she had lost him in the shifting sea of people. And finally, there was Adel. "But whyyyyy?", she moaned to herself.

The tan skinned warrior never expected to be grouped with the ruthless swordswoman. Neither had she hoped to. According to what she's seen and heard, Adel isn't exactly an easy person to please and didn't take kindly to the weak. This was especially true when they had a sparring match last month. The fight was just the second they ever had against each other and even though it was only for training and supervised by a teacher, it was one of the most harrowing battles Tala ever experienced. While she may have beaten Adel early in her stay at the Heroes Guild, this latest duel was a clear defeat for Tala.

The Midian placed too much confidence in her military experience and the fact that she had won before. Her opponent had a insatiable passion to win and improved her skills considerably since their last fight. By the end of the match, Tala could no longer hold the giant chakram she prided herself for being proficient with. She wanted to throw in the towel but Adel didn't give her a chance to surrender, continuing her swift and gracefully deadly assault. It wasn't until after her sword savagely pierced Tala's shoulder that the teacher intervened.

Just thinking about that two-hour long battle tired her out. If anyone told her that Adel was still fascinated with her after that loss, Tala wouldn't believe it. After picking up the ring blade which she left out of her fight against the mage, she made her way to the table for their group with a sigh. "At least this way I won't be fighting against her again anytime soon." But the foreigner secretly felt she was ready to face the former noble again.

Upon arriving at the dining area, Tala plopped down on her seat and promptly rested her head on the wooden table, unaware if anybody else was looking at her. Sleep was calling to her, but so was the food. The enticing smell of a warm meal permeated the air and many people were eager for lunch to be served. While she waited for either food or her group members, the weary woman reached down to her belt and pulled out a gauntlet of elaborate design. It was her Spell Gauntlet and all Heroes in training had to have one in order to utilize magic to the fullest. But as Tala had yet to learn any spells, the accessory currently seemed like nothing more than dead weight to her.
She didn't like to carry or own too many things that wouldn't be of much use to her or slowed her down. Either she sold what she didn't need or gave it away. Still, money was always a must and it was easier to carry around than all the things she could buy with it.

puppetmaster999 12-11-2010 08:04 PM

Kyle had a feeling that he wasn't going to get in but was shocked to find out he was. He was even more shocked to see the group he was put with. "The Armadillo, The former Royal, The exotic Beauty, and the good old Flirt. Wow , oh and don't forget the Runaway. The oddest assortment of heroes ever. This is going to be fun." Kyle was happy to be accepted but he was worried he couldn't keep up in the group trial. He isn't very fast or strong, just acrobatic. If the trial involved anything like jumping or flipping he could help out.

Armando was still shaking from the fight as he walked among the crowd surrounding the arena. As people congratulated him on his performance, he simply nodded and smiled as he walked towards the nearest place for mead. Off in the distance he heard some announcements being made, "I bet they're starting to decided the groups" he thought. Well, it will be awhile before they announce anything, as he arrived at the makeshift tavern that had been built just for today. He looked around for a barkeep, but he was already over in the massive crowds. "Well, whatever." Armando began to walk around the bar, grab a mug and pour himself a beer. "Probably should pay. Nah, I earned this one. Had to pour it myself." he kind of mumbled this to himself. He recklessly grab a stool and pulled it up to the bar. Two gulps later his drink was empty. SLAM... "BARKEEP!... aw, crap." Armando gets up and grabs another glass. He could hear people approaching, "Awesome, now I don't have to get it myself. Three glasses later, Armando hadn't seen anyone, furthermore, the adrenaline from the fight had worked its way out of his system. "I guess I should go see what is going on." Armando placed the glass placed the glass carefully behind the bar, somewhere that looked like all the dirty glasses were already, and started walking back towards the podium. From the distance he could here various names being called off and groups of people waiting in anticipation. "Aw crap, they've already started. I hope I wasn't called already." He increased his pace, and reached earshot just as his name was called. He was relieved as he headed for the table for the last team. Since he had already spent almost a year and a half at the guild he was fairly familiar with most of the hero's, though most weren't familiar with him. He had mostly kept to himself and only learned of most people by overhearing things. Needless to say, he basically knew everyone he had heard in his group. Though he had no clue who was called before his name. As he walked up to the table he could already see Tala sitting there with her head on her hands, Kyle approaching the table and it appeared as if Adel was also heading towards the table. When he reached the table he removed his shield and leaned it against the table, and stabbed the blunt-end of his spear into the ground and finally sat down. As he sat there waiting for the remaining group members he looked around patiently for some food and drink. Really he was just waiting for the drink, but he was much more patient now.

It seemed Adel was one of the last heroes to arrive at the table, though her eyes spotted another empty seat. Scanning the other people at the table she matched names to faces with the knowledge she had of each hero which ranged from very little to biography length. As she approached the table there was a visible drop in her mood from pleased to slightly unhappy. Everyone there was a fighter, as they should be, except for Kyle who Adel immediately marked as the weakest link in the team.

Regaining a more neutral look about her face she sat down at one of the two empty seats at the table, "I hope they bring some mead and food soon, I am starving.", she admitted with a roll of her shoulders.

Adel nodded to Armando before addressing him, "Nice finish in that last fight, George had no idea what he had coming to him."

There was a smile on her face now as she glanced from Armando to Kyle, Tala, and back again. Normally Adel would have chosen to address Tala first but figured she must have been tired or not in the mood to speak with her head on the table like that.

Tala's eyes shot open in surprise at the sound of something being thrust into the ground. The woman was on the brink of falling asleep, her eyes had already closed and her senses were becoming dull. She was even still holding her Spell Gauntlet in one hand next to her head. But the arrival of her team mates helped her shake off sleep though not as quickly as she would have liked. It would be another minute more before the tan skinned girl raised her groggy head. Already someone was trying to start a conversation. From what she heard, Adel was congratulating Armando for his victory. Once Tala straightened up and looked around, she saw the lanky bookworm there as well. Yawning contentedly, the woman returned her gauntlet to her belt before looking to her companions. "Looks like someone's missing.", she exclaimed, addressing the silver haired Kyle. She didn't want to interrupt Adel. Most people wouldn't.
Having served under nobles before, Tala was used to living with people who looked down on others. But unlike the royals who she formerly served, Adel was not lazy and could back up her opinions with her own power. This new place was also filled with people who didn't use just their backgrounds to define who they were. It was nice here. Now if only it wasn't so cold. Of course, that was just Tala's point of view. The weather was fine for anyone else since they actually had sensible clothes.

Kyle was in his own self right now. He wasn't paying attention to the conversations around him. He only started noticing his surroundings when Tala, the beautiful foreigner, asked him a question. “Huh…. Oh yeah it does doesn’t it. Um, the flirty guy, Ge… Ga... Galavan or something? I didn’t even see him fight.”

“Well anyway, for official introductions, I’m Kyle Allen Gear. I came here because heroes aren’t blessings where I’m from. I am a runaway.”

"That's right....", she replied, quickly checking the surrounding area for any sign of the man. Soon after Kyle had introduced himself, Tala followed suit. "I'm Tala. Tala Mayari." A friendly smile graced her lips before she continued. "I came from the country of Midi. It's about an ocean west of Hook Coast but dang is it dry." It was also pretty hot to boot. But considering the cooler weather of Albion, it wasn't surprising that the green haired woman was starting to miss her home. Just a little though. Pulling her heavy coat tighter around her, the foreigner once again spoke. "So they don't like Heroes where you're from? How come?" It was a little odd for her to hear about a place that wasn't interested in power. If Heroes were known in her homeland back when the royal family still ruled, the army would be filled with them.

Amando sat quietly, listening to everyone become aquinted with each other. He was never much for small talk, and often found himself as one of the outcasts. When it came time for him to introduce himself, he simply stated: "I'm Armando. I'm from the settlers, I've been here for a year. And I don't want to lose today."

"Well, the powers we have are considered curses. My people are very nervous and superstitious, mostly because of the cults that live near us. They think that people with these powers were influenced by the cults sadistic rituals. Not everyone thought we were monsters. My older brother was one. He's, I'm just guessing, probably about your age. He gave me this," Kyle said indicating the orb in his hand. "I think it works like a gauntlet. I have one of those too. This place, this country is now my refuge. I just can't believe that I Got past Polis. He's an amazing fighter, and I'm just a fifteen year old kid. I don't even now why I tried this year."

Kyle was interested in books, not battle. He shouldn't have been able to defeat Polis. HE couldn't beat him with strength. He never used magic before, so he shouldn't have been able to target as well as he did.

When Armando introduced himself Kyle looked up, shot out of his revelry. "Nice to meet you Armando." Kyle said standing up.

He didn't look at Adel, afraid of what he would get in reply. She didn't have people calling her "Little Miss Sunshine."
