Raven followed after him, she wondered what he wanted to talk about. She swore they had already discussed all their issues. Of course that didn't mean that it still didn't feel hurt being around him. To say she was relived when he showed her the party supplies was an understatement. " That's a great idea. Who did you invite?" Raven asked him. |
"Well I was actually making the calls when you guys came up to the pizza tower. So I ended the conversation early. But I called Bats and asked him to put out the word. As of now I know Bats, the new Robin, Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, and Beast Boy are coming. Bats is suppost to call me tonight and update the list. Is there anyone you want to invite or don't want to come?"
|
Raven nodded, so it seemed that Dick had covered almost all the ends. Yet he didn't seem to have Raven's other "kids" on the list. She didn't have a list of who she didn't want to come, though she was worried villains might find out. " Did you or Batman invite Melvin, Timmy and Teether? Also we should be careful a gathering of Heros like this is sure to tempt any villains" Raven told him. |
"I told him to send an invite out to the kids but I'll make sure tonight. All the heroes are bringing their sidekicks of course. Bats said the League had plans for that. For any meeting where a lot of them get together they teleport everyone in. Aquaman, Atom, and Red Tornado will keep the keep them busy."
|
" Alright, well then it sounds like you have everything planned perfectly" Raven told him. She wondered if he had invited Kory but she didn't want to ask. " Well was that all you wanted to talk about?" She asked him. |
"Yeah, I just wanted to hear what you thought about it. I'm glad you like it so far." Dick packed the stuff back away then stood up. He opened the door for Raven.
|
Raven nodded, " Alright, thank you for showing me" She said. She headed to the door. Raven was wondering as she left, why is always felt like her and him were worlds apart. |
Dick sighed as she left. She was so distant and different from when he used to live her. She was almost worse then when she had first joined the team. Though he guessed that after all that had happened and five years alone that he could understand.
He followed after her a few moments later taking his PC with him. He went into the common room and sat down on the floor with his back against a wall. He was facing the large window and was a bit away from the couch. He opened his computer and entered the code. He started typing on it trying to figure out who was coming to the party, what had happened with Data, and if there was any trouble in town. |
Raven made her way back to the main room. She smiled slightly when she saw her still sleeping daughter. She then went to the main computer and went to work making sure everything in the city was alright. She figured later she would work up the courage to talk to Dick, to maybe get a team together for this city. Though Raven still hoped the old team would come back together, but she convinced that would never happen. |
Dick found that he had no word from Bruce about the party, Data was still in containment, and that he noticed no problems with the town. He saw that Raven was doing the same thing so he left that to her. He finally started looking through a list of heroes and sidekicks. Maybe he would pull a new group together here. That way someone would always be here for Elizabeth even if the town needed them. And that way if he left Raven would not be alone.
|
Raven found that there was nothing happening within the town. She checked for a bit longer, but deemed everything safe. She then headed to the kitchen to start making a meal for the three of them. She noticed she'd have to do some grocery shopping soon. Though she was enjoying cooking for more than one person. |
Dick continued flipping through profiles, profiles that only the League were suppost to have, trying to decide if a team of older heroes or newer heroes would be best. He knew that new ones would need training and had their own problems but he knew they needed a place to belong and not be treated as less. But older heroes would be easier to deal with and might be safer around a young child. The only problem was that the older heroes that were not part of a team either didn't want to be or did not work well in them. He finally sighed and exited the profiles. He would talk to Raven about it later. He closed his computer then stood up.
Dick stood up and walked to look out the window. |
Elizabeth had woken while her Mommy had been making dinner. She had helped her Mother set the table and now was sent to go get her Daddy. She knocked on the door," Daddy?" She asked. |
Dick heard the knock and went to the door. "Hi hunny. Is dinner ready?"
|
" Yes Daddy. Mommy says if you want to eat, then dinner is ready" Elizabeth said. She was very clearly for a girl, who had just woken up. Raven had just finished setting the food on the table. She was smiling slightly, she really was over joyed by the fact she had people here. She hadn't realized how lonely she was. |
Dick walked back with his daughter. When she jumped into her seat he pushed it in for her then he sat down. "It looks really good Rae." He picked up his fork and started eating.
|
Raven nodded," Thank you" She said. She sat in her seat and started to eat. Just five years ago she had dreamed of having little dinners like this with her daughter and the love of her life. Even under the strange circumstances, she never thought it would happen. Elizabeth smiled and once back where her Mother was, she sat down and started to eat. " It's really good Mommy" She said. |
Dick continued eating for a moment then stopped. "Hey Rae, I know you've been taking care of this area by yourself for five years but have you ever thought about bringing a team here?"
|
" Not until recently. I've always been able to handle things, and hoping.." She mumbled. She really felt in this pass years that she had been very foolish. |
"I've kept a watch on this area and noticed you've done a really good job. I was thinking it might help to have a team. Especially with Elizabeth. She can't be left alone. And it would be nice for there to be more people around here. Have you thought about what kind of team you would like here? A team like ours was when we started, a new team? Or an older team or heroes?"
|
" I know it would help to have a team, espeically since we can't leave her alone. But I haven't given it much thought on what kind. Our old team came together under strange circumstances, I don't think we can find a team like that again. Though most older heroes, already have teams or refuse to join teams. New heros, have to be trained, I wonder if they are any hero's who've been around, but not be approached by anyone" Raven said. |
"That's what I was thinking. It is hard to find the old heros that are willing to join a new team. It would be easiest to find sidekicks or the kids in teams that want a new start but they would be young."
((going to bed)) |
" I don't know if having a young team a good idea, we have to watch over them and Elizabeth and the age gap would be too weird" Raven told him. |
"That is true. Hm... I'll look into it more. Are there any powers that would be helpful or hurtful for the town that I should watch out for?"
|
Raven thought for a few moments, there was really nothing that would be risky for anyone with any kind of power. Though she wouldn't want a team of everyone with the same powers. " None that I can think of, though we wouldn't want three people with earth controlling powers or something like that, that would be risky" Raven told him. |
