Kaden looked at Xavier and chuckled. "You have to do something selfless to gain the trust of fools. I knew they would offer me shelter and food, and mostly time. Time enough for me to grasp my potential and then approach you." he said and then mentally shuddered. "I want to learn how to widen my uses of power to become stronger. I will not let anyone belittle me again." he said with anger and courage. His eyes burning with desire.
|
"So you betray those who trust you to gain power?" Xavier looked to Jill, and she stilled once again. "You don't care what happens to these two, then?" The tall youth narrowed his red eyes at Leon, who looked ready to dive for his weapon and fire off a shot. "Stop him, before he does something that gets him killed."
Xavier turned his attention to Kaden again, watching with a strange kind of interest in his eyes. What was the blond willing to do to show he was trustworthy? What made him think that Xavier would trust him after he betrayed those who he'd allied with for days? "Don't touch me," Leon threatened, and this time his tone was dead serious. He didn't care if everything here was a ruse - he didn't want to leave Jill without any form of protection. The soldier glanced at Kaden, narrowing his eyes before looking back to Jill. "Kaden, she'll die." "Restrain him." |
Kaden looked at Xavier and then Leon. He snapped his fingers and suddenly the air around Leon held him still Kaden's eyes moving to Xavier. "I wish to be the one to end her... She was the most nascence on trying to figure out my plan." he said anterior his eyes burning as his glasses flashed. His heart was screamin at him to save Jill but he just needed to get a little closer to Jill and Xavier just enough to shoot him efficiently or impale him with his powers.
|
Xavier tilted his head, seeming to be able to see the energy that held Leon still. The male didn't move . . . until he tossed Jill's limp form toward Kaden. She hit the ground with a thud, unmoving. "Then finish her. She is useless to me."
Leon strained against the air about him, surprised by the sudden burst of energy that kept him still. "Kaden! Don't!" His voice was dangerous as he glared at the blond. Part of him wondered if this was real. He trusted Kaden, but the look on his face just . . . brought back too many memories. The soldier's powers pulsed, leaving a wake of taint behind. Xavier lifted a brow, knowing that Leon's powers couldn't reach anyone from their position. If they'd been in town, there would have been another outbreak of the taint. "Finish the girl, Kaden." |
Kaden watched in inner agony as Jill was tossed between him and Xavier. It was close enough. Drawing his gun once again he turned to face the female and stepped towards her. His steps mentally felt like he was in an unreal fog, his features looking scarey real but his heart and mind realing at what he was doing. It was so difficult to take each step but as he saw memories of his friends he was there. He knelt and pulled Jill's head up by her hair and aimed the gun at her head. "I'm being merciful... Only because you're a girl... Well at least used to be." he said evily and cocked the gun with a click. "Goodbye." he said and then fired, suddenly moving the gun just past her ear and shooting Xavier in the side. "Now Leon!" he hissed and the air released the soldier and levitated the gun for the man to grab. Pulling Jill close Kaden began shooting fast atthe mutant. His determination ten times stronger then the act he put on. He wanted that thig dead for touching Jill.
|
Xavier's darkness swarmed about the room, making it hard to see. He'd suspected treachery. The male cried out when Kaden's first bullet struck him, but somehow the shots fired afterward didn't affect him. He growled when Leon was released, and a second weapon began to fire. Strands of black shadow lashed out, swallowing the bullets as they neared the mutant. "You fool. I expected more from you." He didn't even sound angry - just honestly disappointed.
Leon's gray eyes flashed with anger as he thought of Jill being tossed like a doll to the floor. The wave of energy that came off of him not only forced darkness back, but it brought Jill's eyes open. She was going to be fine. Clutching to Kaden's shirt, she hissed and locked her gaze on Xavier's levitating form. The tall male inclined his head, slowly setting foot on the ground once again. Black wisps slowly faded away from them and Xavier shook his head. "You don't understand what's going on, do you?" His red eyes lingered on Jill with a look of amused interest. "I suppose I should leave you to your own devices. It would be a shame to lose a group so powerful." With a sigh, Xavier whipped the gun away from both Kaden and Leon with a flick of his hand, annoyed that they kept trying to harm him. "When you find out that you can do nothing for yourselves, return to me. Until then, find another place to vent your anger." |
Kyreian almost hit him again, except this time it would have been his face, but he released her just in time. She could have sworn he was going to kiss her...shaking that thought from her head, she kept the scowl on her face. She shook off his inspection and moved towards her dresser to grab some clean clothes. "So what? You still took me without my knowledge from where I was. Who said you could take me away from..." She dropped the shirt and whirled to look at Dante. "What happened to them? To the kids? They were okay, right?" She remembered very vaguely a scream when she had let out her own. A hand when to her forehead and she rubbed it a little before picking up the shirt and grabbing a few other items. "Never mind. I'm sure they're fine if we aren't still with them. I'm going to take a shower." I need to cool down.
As if having second thoughts, she turned around and looked at him, eyes narrowed. "Don't leave while I'm in there." Without waiting to see his response, she turned once more and went into the bathroom, sorely tempted to lock the door behind her. Finally, she took a breath and felt calmer. "What is wrong with me?" She said softly. She was feeling like an overemotional, mood swinging teen. She suddenly grabbed her head and squeezed her eyes shut. Shit, not now. Go away! The dream wanted her again... |
Extremely angry that they had Failed Kaden wanted to sob in frustration. How could this stupid bastard be so strong?! How could he not die?!! Holding Jill to his body with care he soon stood and turned to Leon. "Let's get out of here... We can't afford to chance one of us getting so hurt too." he said reluctantly and then glared back at Xavier. "Damn you to hell." he growled and spit on the ground at the mutant's feet in anger as he walked over to Leon's side. The soldier would heal Jill once they got out of here, but they didn't want to do it so Xavier would see the other side of his power.
|
"They're fine," Dante whispered, watching Kyreian as she whirled back to gather her clothing. Stepping toward her, the mutant almost reached out for her again . . . but she closed the bathroom door behind her. "Don't take too long. I might get worried." He said it with sarcasm in his voice, but there was truth in the statement.
He sighed and sat down on the chair's edge once again. Ky was looking . . . more emotional than usual. Dante shrugged mentally, knowing that he was probably over thinking the ordeal. Resting his head against the window's frame, he listened for sounds of Kyreian's presence. - "Take care of her," Xavier's voice came after them in a mental burst, and when Leon shot him a glare, he was merely smiling at them. "Her blood isn't strong enough to take all this abuse." The shadowed male disappeared, shrouded in darkness. Leon growled, pushing the door open and making sure everything was moved out of the way. By the time they got back to Jill's place, he knew that they had received quite the amount of attention. He'd had to persuade a few people that Jill was suffering from a chronic sickness so they wouldn't call the hospital . . . or the police. When they were back inside their own apartment, Leon's powers lashed out . . . but this time they weren't dangerous. His healing moved without him having to touch Jill. "That bastard!" The soldier slammed a clenched fist against the doorframe, snarling at the pain. Xavier was too strong. "So we try again later," Jill said, finally able to move. Rubbing her neck, she realized that there were bruises there. The tender feeling made her cringe, but Leon's powers reached out to her quickly. |
Looking at the two as they got into the house Kaden fell into the couch desprately to give his shaking legs a rest. Listening to Jill and Leon he closed his eyes and then let his head fall into his hands. They had failed, and it was all his fault... He had underestimated Xavier's powers, his math and calulations had been wrong... He had led his family into a suicide mission and nearly lost Jill.... It was horrible. His shoulders shook thinking of how hurt and scared Leon and Jill had looked, the way he had acted. he nearly wanted to cry as that memory would be forever imprinted in his mind.
|
Kyreian couldn't keep the shaking away. She stepped out of the shower and almost slipped as she missed the mat. Taking a deep breath, a hand clutching the towel around her, she squared her shoulders and tried again, this time more carefully. She managed to not hurt herself again, even as her arm ached to remind her that it was too easy to do so. A scowl appeared on her face as she quickly dried herself off and dressed, not wanting to be in there any longer then she had to.
She opened the door to the bathroom and almost breathed sigh of relief upon seeing Dante still around. Instead, she had her mask on, hiding behind it. She discarded her towel into the laundry basket and opened her closet door. It took her a moment but she picked out a blue swirl scarf the matched the tones of her shirt and jeans. She wrapped it around her neck as quickly as she could with one hand. Shutting the door, she looked at Dante, her eyes a matching sapphire. She was finally a bit calmer. Just a bit. Her daymares were still gnawing at her..."Are you hungry?" |
(( Kaden feels like the leader of their little "family," and he's so . . . sad! *eyes start to water* The poor guy!))
Jill sighed, watching as Leon merely left. He needed to cool down - and occasionally, he just disappeared into the city for the day. He'd be back later . . . and his temper would be under control. The blonde used her clawed hand to brush hair from her face . . . and then realized that Kaden was shaking. Worry spiked through her. Panicked, she stood and stepped toward him only to find that he wasn't necessarily hurt. Sitting on the couch beside him, Jill reached up and ran her hand through his hair carefully. "We're alright, Kaden. Everyone made it out alive. We'll be fine." She wanted to say that he would be fine as well, but that was up to him. The woman pressed herself to the male as he trembled, wrapping her arms about his waist and sidling up next to him so they could share warmth. "We were all scared." - "Starved," Dante looked relieved that she was doing alright, but at the same time a bit anxious. Stepping up to her, he moved to put an arm about her waist, but stopped. Instead, he moved to open the door. "Let's go get something. My treat." More silence. "What do you feel like?" The male looked at Ky's arm again, his frown reappearing before he could stop it. I need to keep an eye on this girl. Why did it always feel like there was some secret between them? Granted, there were many . . . but which one was causing problems? His silver eyes flickered with red, and he led Kyreian toward the parking lot. "I hope you don't mind . . . I don't have a car." Of course he didn't. Instead, a motorcycle rested in the spot her led her to. "Can you hold on well enough?" He fingered the two helmets before lifting one toward Kyreian. Once it was on her head, he helped her strap it on. |
((*sniffles* Kaden's feeling like it's all his fault because he didn't aim high enough for Cavier's heart. He feel's like he failed and then nearly broke his bond with his family. So sad.))
Kaden felt Jill's hand run threw his hair but didn't move, unable to as the small touch didn't really faze him. It was when she sidled up to his and wrapped her arms around him that his trembling hands slowly pulled away from his face, a tear sliding down his cheek. "I failed... I put you two in danger...." he whispered and then looked into her eyes, the pain in his multicolored eyes obvious. "I-I nearly watched you die.... Leon really was going to kill me.... If I touched you..." he said and then slowly reached out and cupped her face with both hands. "I'm s-so sorry..... I wasn't strong enough...." he whispered the pain underlying his shaking words weren't hidden at all. He wanted Jill to know from the bottom of his heart that he was sorry. |
When Kaden's hands met her cheeks, she felt his warm tears still lingering on his skin. Meeting his eyes, she felt her heart lurch as he apologized. "I don't blame you," she whispered, her hands moving to touch both of his cheeks. Slowly taking his glasses off, she wiped away the tears that fell from his eyes. Somehow her clawed fingers were more gentle now than they ever had been. "I forgive you." He needed to hear it, so she let the words do their work.
Jill carefully set his glasses on the table beside the couch, leaning in so her face was a few inches from Kaden's. "I love you. Leon loves you. We're a family, and he was scared. We were all scared." She closed the distance, kissing him softly. "We put ourselves in danger. You helped us get out of it." Jill kissed him again, wiping away another tear. |
Kyreian growled and yanked her strap tight. She wasn't a baby who needed help. "I'll be fine." She stood there waiting for him to get on the motorcycle, obviously annoyed, even if her face looked like stone. "And Japanese sounds good, if you like it." She was trying not to sound harsh......which was taking a lot. She was anxious to get going, having not been on a bike in a long time. She missed it. That and she was nervous for some insane reason. Which was making her even more grouchy. Why am I getting jittery just being around him?
She was instantly behind Dante as soon as he took his seat. Without thinking too much about why her heartbeat was faster, her arms wrapped around his waist; one arm holding tight with the hand clasping a bit of clothing around his stomach, the other injured one sitting there loosely, ready to be yanked back if it gets jarred. She resisted the sudden urge to snuggle closer to him (not that they weren't already very close). A scowl darkened her face now that he couldn't see it. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with me? She knew, deep down, she knew. She just didn't want it to be the truth. |
Hearing Jill forgive him nearly made another river of tears come. He loved her so much and knowing that she forgave him was one less weight upon his heart. Smiling slightly as he felt her wiping away his tears he then nodded. "I love you too..." he breathed lovingly, his eyes full of care. Jill had never come straight out and said that she loved him but heading it now and kissing her sweet lips the teen held onto her face lovingly, kissing her back every time she came back to give him another kiss. Her words were soothing his soul, and her kisses were making his heart burn.

((Hey . . . look! It's a sexy Kyreian and Dante. LOL! Browsing deviantART
GGRRR. I'm so mad at myself! I accidentally navigated away from this page . . . and my post was almost finished!! )) Dante shrugged and revved the bike. "Japanese sounds as good as any." He felt her wrap an arm around his middle, and he sent a glance over his shoulder to make sure Kyreian was ready. He knew she was irritated - but he didn't comment on it. If anything, he acted like it didn't bother him at all. The mutant pulled away from the building with sigh. By the time they reached their destination the male was really thinking over how Kyreian was acting. Truthfully, she was always bothered. But something about her was . . . off. They stopped on the street, pulling up in front of a lit sign that showed them they were in the right place. "I haven't done this in a while," Dante said, pulling off his helmet and taking a deep breath. The scent of Japanese food filled the air about them. "It's not that I didn't go, I just never had anyone with me." That, and it had been a while since he'd gone out alone. After all, it just wasn't worth the time if you had no one to spend it with. Cutting the bike's motor, Dante placed a hand on Kyreian's arm lightly. "Are you sure you're feeling alright?" he asked, meeting her gaze over one shoulder. After a moment, he smiled a bit. "Let's get you inside. You look ready to whither or faint. I don't want that." Once their helmets were off, Dante offered an arm. She didn't usually take it, but it was worth a try. - ((Dun dun DUN! Here comes Leon.)) Leon returned to the building quietly, figuring that Jill had finally calmed Kaden down. She was good at that; she usually calmed them down faster than any other method. He hadn't really been expecting to come inside and witness the make-out session on the couch. Silently closing the door behind him, the soldier looked elsewhere. He'd known; they'd all known. Jill loved Kaden - it was obvious. Still, it felt strange to see her acting on it. It was strange to see the two of them . . . together. Quietly stepping down the hall, Leon closed the bedroom door behind him. Leave them in peace for a little while. I wish I hadn't come back yet. - Jill's blood rushed faster than ever before. Breathless, she pressed herself against Kaden, managing to get her legs wrapped about his waist somehow. She didn't hear the door open, and she didn't see Leon step past them. The blonde was careful (at first) to keep her claws from leaving marks on Kaden's features, but after they got a bit carried away she couldn't help it. Small droplets of blood often beaded under her fingertips as she trailed them over his features and neck, shoulders and arms. Everywhere she could reach, she somehow managed. Their kisses had moved from soft and comforting to hungry and passionate. The room was suddenly too small; Jill wanted Kaden more than she'd ever realized before. "I want you," she managed to say, her lips meeting his once again. It was a wonder she could form words when only pleasure flit through her mind. ((*Spoiler: I don't intend for anything to actually happen here.)) |
Carried away was an understatement, they had lost control. Kaden soonfound himself untangled in Jill, her legs around his waist, his arm holding her close by her waist and the other tangled in her hair. Their kisses had been cute and comforting, now they were flat out sexy and passionate. The young male couldn't get enough of Jill's taste and the want that was burning threw his visna like a wild fire seemed to help drive the amazing moment. As they made out, Kaden found indescribable pleasure from Jill's hands running over him. Her claw like nails were sharp, and the way they scratched and drew blood lightly was, pleasurable to the blonde. Hearing the woman's breathless words Kaden's mind immediately began picturing her in the most intament of ways. Shocked at her words he kept kissing her. His hand on her waist pushing up her shirt slightly, his warm hand running over her bare skim making him nearly moan in pleasure. But Kaden knew better... They had to stop. Slowly making the kisses less deep, and slower, he began to ease away from Jill a little bit. Finally gasping for breath and getting his breathing undercontrol he looked into her eyes. "Jill... I love you... And I want you too..." he whispered and then cradled her cheek wtb one hand. "But I cherish you too much to give into my want and lust for you, when you deserve to be treated like the beautiful flower you are... And be given the world..." he whispered lovingly, his multicolored eyes glowing with his over flowing love for Jill.

((I'll reply after Kiona does.
Look at this sad, sad picture. . . . *sniffles and cries, and then runs off to beat the guy up for stabbing Dante* Mixed feelings, really. It's just .. . and  and :illgetu:!! Picture.)) **I changed it. There's the website. :XD |
((awww I couldn't see the picture))
|
(I couldn't see that last picture either. And I love the first one. It does kind remind me of them too ^^ Though Kyreian would have smaller breasts and wear a less revealing shirt...XD)
Kyreian snorts, as she often does. "I'm fine, Dante. Would you stop asking?" Not that I actually want him to...She would have growled at herself if she had been alone. She didn't like thoughts like that. "And you'll be fine. It's just like eating at home. If you eat at home. Which, considering what home is, I wouldn't do." She was teasing him. At least, that was her plan. She wasn't sure if he would catch it or not. She looked at his offered arm then back up to his face with both dark eyebrows raised. She didn't take it. "Sorry. I'm just not that kind of lady. And just for the record, I don't faint. And wither is not a term I like." With that being said, she lead the way to the restaurant and opened the door first...If her face wasn't expressionless, it would have been more plain that she was irritated. Wither was a word that she had only recently learned she did not like. It reminded her too much of what she could do, what she does now. Today was becoming an annoying day. I hope it gets better. |
Picture. **I changed it. There's the website. :XD
And yes, I agree: for the first picture, Ky would be wearing a very different shirt.)) The skin contact made her shudder. It wasn't until Kaden started talking that Jill froze, slowly nodding. "I don't know what I was thinking," she said, calming down a bit. When the blonde finally got a hold on herself, she pressed her face against Kaden's chest, ignoring the fact that she could hardly breathe. "Thank you." - Dante chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Must admit: home isn't a good place for eating." His silver eyes were guarded for a moment, as though he wasn't sure if she was playing or being serious. It was when she moved on to talk about herself that Dante let his arm slowly drop. "I'm . . . sorry." He barely got the quiet words out before Kyreian was headed for the front door. Dante also barely got to the door in time to stop it from closing behind the woman. For a moment, his very appearance flickered like static. Irritation moved over his face, and Dante had to close his eyes to force his true appearance to stay hidden. It would be disastrous if he suddenly changed into some sort of monster right in front of a crowd. By the time he was breathing steadily once again, his red-speckled gaze landed on Kyreian. Dante stepped up beside her and grit his teeth. It wasn't until they were seated in a corner booth that the mutant looked at her more carefully. "Pardon me for upsetting your precarious mood," he said, staring at her, "but I'm just not one to tip-toe around anybody." That was his apology. "It's been a rough day." |
Kaden smiled sheepishly and held Jill close happily. "You're welcome..." he whispered softly and then kissed the top of her head. "I'm glad that you're happy." he whispered lovingly and nuzzled her head breathing in her scent happily.
((sorry short)) |
Kyreian held his gaze, refusing to be the first to look away. Not that she entirely wanted to, though she would much rather be staring at his real form. For whatever reason, she hated his disguise more then she hated her own new form. Her expression was still cold and her bright blue eyes matched it. "It's been a rough day for you, huh? What exactly have you had to deal with? I'm extremely curious." She waited for his answer, her mood not improving much. Not, she knew, that she really had much of a reason to be in a bad one.
|
Dante stared at the woman for many seconds before his brow lifted a bit. "Xavier sent us out," he said, recounting what had happened to them. "There was another disturbance. Xavier saw it, he sent me after it. You were with the others when I left." His pale eyes were flecked with red as he swallowed, forcing himself to stay in his disguise as his frustration built. "It was a girl. She was young. Younger than you." He hadn't blinked yet - they were still having their little stare-down. "She was having trouble with her powers, so I gave her to Xavier." That explained his long absence - he'd been gone overnight.
"He killed her." Dante finally blinked, his eyes more red than silver. "I took her to him, and he killed her." He couldn't stop now . . . it just kept coming. The mutant's motions became more jerking instead of smooth; his features darkened slightly as his hand clenched. "When he made me leave, I came back to find you hurt." That seemed to rile him just as much as the death of a stranger. "It's like being a dog on a chain." He hissed, shaking his head. He'd finally looked away from Kyreian. "Every time I step in one direction, Xavier pulls me back. When I'm at his side, he sends me away." Dante softly struck the table, aware that they were in public . . . but only slightly. "And now you." An unnatural calm set over the male, and he suddenly met Kyreian's gaze again. Crimson eyes locked with hers, he smiled slightly. "I'm not supposed to be with you." Dante laughed quietly. "The irony is a killer." Reaching up to touch his neck, he closed his eyes. His fingers lingered on the leather that covered his mark, but he could still feel it as though it was recently inflicted. "Don't let me . . . ruin this." Dante caught the waitress' attention and ordered something to drink, passing a menu to Kyreian. "You're hurt and hungry. I shouldn't have pressed you." Leaning back against the booth, the male turned his brooding gaze to the outside world. His hands stayed clenched as he crossed his arms. Kyreian's mood wasn't what was bothering him, nor was the long day making him cross. It was the very fact that Ky wouldn't tell him what was on her mind. What the heck was bothering her? (( I'm not trying to make Dante sound like he's whining . . . but it's starting to sound like that. *sigh*)) - "Are you finished?" Jill jumped at the sound of Leon's voice, sucking in a quick breath. The blonde looked startled, but then she merely smiled. "You're back." The soldier nodded once, stepping past the couch and toward the kitchen. "I've been here for a while. You were both too busy to notice." Was that bitterness in his voice? Jill carefully pulled away from Kaden, catching his eye before stepping after their friend. "I'm sorry. How'd everything go?" Leon had just gone out to cool down, but it seemed that coming back to the apartment when he did had upset him once again. Perhaps it was something that happened while he was out? Perhaps he just needed to talk? "Are you feeling alright?" Leon brusquely nodded again, taking a glass to the sink. Once it was full of water, he stepped past the other two on his way out of the room. "Never been better." |
