"Fine" Scar picked up Ghost's body and went outside.

Komu followed him.

Scar buried the body under a pile of rocks.

"we can tell my mom he ran away" he said.

"Whatever you say" Scar headed back to the cave.

Komu sat down inside the cave. He looked at darkness to see if he would say anything.

Darkness just sat there. Not moving an inch.

"no need to stand there like a scared baby darkness" komu said licking his paw.

"He is just biding his time" Scar said.

Nala walked into the den. "i have bad news you guys" she siad.

"What is it?" Scar asked.

"its sarabi. She died. Nothing killed her but when i went to talk to her she said it was her time and she just died," nala said.

Scar bowed his head. "She was a worthy foe"

Komu walked over to his mom and nuzzled her. She licked his head. She walked over to her place in the den and laid down. Komu laid down beside her and went to sleep too.

"Nala, my son Ghost is dead. Killed by wild dogs" Scar said. "Isn't that right, Komu?"

"yes. We saw it form the cave but we couldn't save him," he said. "Oh my. Scar i am sorry about your son," she said.

"I just know that he is at peace" Scar said, lowering his head. Darkness continued to stare intently at Komu.

"Well i am going to try and get some rest," Sarabi said. She walked over to her place in the den and laid down. She went to sleep.

Scar looked over at Komu. "Follow me outside"

"ok," he said following him outside.

When they were a good distance from the cave, Darkness attacked Komu from behind.

Komu growled and kicked him away. He growled and stood in fighting position.

Darkness lunged, sinking his teeth deep into the throat of Komu.

Blood trickled fast out of komus throat. He pounced and landed on darkness. He bit his neck.

Darkness swiped his claws across Komu's eyes.
