Beauties and the Beast (Accepting) Open
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...naW/castle.jpg Welcome to the Prince's Castle Long long ago there was a wealthy kingdom. It was ruled by a wonderful King and Queen. They had only one son. One day, when the prince was but five years of age, the kingdom was hit by a horrible sickness. It claimed both the king and queen and the prince was left parentless. He was raised by the Lords and Ladies of the court and soon grew selfish. After awhile he cared for only beautiful things. One night during a horrible storm an elderly couple was brought to him. They asked for a place to stay to wait out the storm but he refused and sent them out. They reveled themselves to be a powerful sorcerer and sorceress who had become upset about the future of this kingdom. "We have seen your selfish ways Prince and thought to offer you one more chance but you have once again failed. We will not let you destroy this kingdom. True love will be the thing to save you and the kingdom. You will be cursed till you find someone that can truly love you for what you are inside. You will have one hundred years to find it. We will give you a gift of a magical rose. The last petal will fall when your time is over. Your servants will be cursed alongside you but at the end they will be set free even if you do not." They turned and left the Prince as he fell and shifted to a new form. Inside the castle the same happened to all of the servants. Everyone else fell asleep only to wake up in a new castle that the sorcerer and sorceress ruled from. The Prince went inside to find that all of the servants had been twisted into animals. They were still mostly human with features of animals. The Prince found that his curse was not the same. He had been twisted with many animal forms and had no features of a human left other then walking on his back feet. The Prince raged destroying all mirrors and paintings. The castle grew dark and the servants despaired. The forest grew up around the castle and was soon forgotten. The Prince made the servants call him Beast and went into a deep depression. The servants watched the years go by and feared for their future King. On the last year they came together and made a plan. They would send letters out to as many people as they could. Soon letters were sent out to young ladies and gentlemen and they sat back to wait. The Letter Dear Sir or Madame, We wish to invite you out to the Castle in the Woods for a year long stay. Everything will be prepared for you. Come stay with us and be treated as royalty for a year. If you stay with us for the full year you will be paid a year's wages. If you would like to accept our invitation please go to the edge of the Woods where the Great Pillar is. A path has been cleared. |

---------- Ethan knew that today would be the day. The guests would be arriving soon and the castle had been made ready. Rooms had been made up and most of the castle had been cleaned. Leto's rooms of course had not been touched. Ethan shook his head when he thought of his young master. The prince was older then him but Ethan never thought of that. Ethan had prepaired for this day. Everything would go perfectly. All of the staff had been made clothes that worked with their new additions. He walked to the Hall and waited. Snow slithered around the guest rooms turning down the beds and putting the final touches on everything. She was the strangest looking of the servants and she didn't want to be around when the guests first arrived. Lily didn't live far from the where the path had been made so she arrived easily. She only had the clothes on her back as she didn't have anything really to bring with her. She looked at the path but didn't want to go down it alone. So she stayed standing at the opening. Levi had left soon after getting the letter. He didn't tell his parents but left the letter where they would find it. After a few days of walking he came to where the letter told him to go. In the distance he saw a woman standing at the opening. Is she someone from the castle or another who got the letter? |
Addison wiped a bit of the sweat beading from his forehead off with his sleeve before standing upright and smiling at his work. The rose garden was now in tip-top shape, if he could say so himself. Not only were the vast majority of blooms blossoming, but the path was virtually leaf-free, the bushes were freshly-watered, and all of the stray branches had been neatly trimmed. Smiling, Addison wiped his hands off on his towel and layed his tools neatly in their box before walking back inside the castle, now towards the Hall to wait for their guests.
Sarita ran along the castle halls, tray of refreshments wobbling furiously, though not a one was in great danger of spilling. Until.... thud. Sarita flew forwards, her tray still firmly in hand, eyes widening as she hit the floor. Quickly, she moved the tray forwards to catch its contents safely back upon it, letting out a sigh of relief after doing so. Standing carefully, she turned to look at the person who had walked into her, Addison, with a frown. "Watch it, Addy." Then, jogging this time, she quickly made her way towards the Hall. Once there, she spotted Ethan, which didn't honestly surprise her, and took a place near the doorway as she simply let her breath even out as she waited for their guests with the tray of refreshments. Risette hopped out of her carriage once it arrive, bidding goodbye to her servants before turning to face the pathway before her. Then, looking about, she spotted another girl nearby, as well as a guy heading their way. Deciding to be friendly, she cleared her voice and turned towards the gray-haired girl with a smile, "Hey... You receive a letter, too?" she asked curiously, hoping that that was the case. If she hadn't she may at least be someone from the castle to greet them, or something. |
Leto could hear his aggravating servants rummaging around throughout the castle, putting the last finishing touches on everything and making sure the whole castle was untouched. They thought that today was the day, but to the irritable prince, it was just another day in a long life he would have to endure.
He look around his untouched room. Though they had cleaned the palace almost top to bottom, his room had not been changed. He wasn't complaining; if anything was in disarray, he'd have a fit and would most likely go on a killing spree. Seeing as how the nearest village was probably a day's walk away (he wasn't sure for he hadn't left the castle in so long), he wouldn't be able to commit mass murder to show his displeasure. The most he could do would be terrorizing some birds. Or some rabbits. Or something. Maybe step on some ants. He sighed and settled down on the floor, already used to his fur and his wings, already used to the curse. Used to loneliness. Leto winced as a crash reached his ears. "Damn Addison." |
Ethan watched as the other servants started gathering. He was happy to see everyone was looking good. Without saying anything he turned back to the door. I wonder if I should have sent someone to lead the guests here. It is just a straight path but will they come?
Lily had been staring down the dark path and hadn't noticed the people. She gasped before whirling around. "Oh, um... yes I did." She stared at the woman in front of her. Why would they want a farmer's daughter and a woman such as the one in front of her. She waved at the path behind her. "I actually live really close to here. I'm actually very suprised at the path. It wasn't here a couple days ago. I was kind of being stupid. Standing here scared of going down a path by myself." She messed with her hair before standing up straighter. Levi finished the walk and stood behind the women. "Looks like they have invited some very lovely ladies." He winked then bowed. "Is there a reason we are standing here?" |
Addison cringed as he bumped into Risette, then again when he very faintly heard the master comment on it. Clearing her voice, he quickly apologized, "Oh! Sorry, Rita!" Then, louder, "Please, forgive me, Your Majesty." Then, turning to see Rita running off, he followed after her, ears bouncing a bit as he did so. Once arriving in the Hall, he simply stood beside Sarita, waiting patiently for their guests.
Risette smiled and nodded to show her understanding. "Well, that's certainly strange..." she then paused to look down the path ahead of them for a moment before replying to the rest of what she'd said. "It does look a bit intimidating, I suppose." she shrugged, again smiling. Risette then turned to see the man that now stood behind them, grinning a bit at him, "And an incredibly modest gentleman." she joked. Then looking down the path once more, she let out a sigh. "Not sure. Shall we be on our way?" Regardless of the replies of the other two, she'd begin the walk down the path towards the castle, looking about casually, not showing any sign of being nervous in the least sense. |
Humming to herself lightly Dashna danced in the kitchen as she was preparing a ton of food. Now that they were having guests she had to up her food amount and it left her a bit ruffled. Everything would take twice as long if not more. Luckily she enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking. Realizing what time it was she took everything off the burners to cool for a bit before she would start on everything else. Taking her apron off she left her precious kitchen and started walking to the entrance where everyone was waiting for the guests. Annoyed by how long the walk was she got on all fours and took off running. One thing her cat pads were good for, running very fast. Dashna almost always went barefoot so she could run at anytime. Coming up to her group she stopped running and straightened up. "Anyone here yet?" She asked with a smile.
Clicking her heels to her horses side Aireandend made her go faster. She was almost there and she had walked Raja most of the way. Grinning from the wind in her hair she looked around her surroundings. Once she got to the path and saw a couple of forms she slowed her horse to a stop and hopped off her. Grabbing the reins Aireandend lead her forward. "Hello, did you guys get a letter also?" She came up to the side of them making Raja stand behind her. |
Lily sighed again. I look like a scared little girl. She turned though when she heard the sound of a horse. She smiled at this new girl. "Yes we all got the letters. We were just heading out in fact."
Levi sighed. "Aw so I don't get to be one of the beautiful ladies? How sad." He turned to smile at the new arrival and nodded when Lily answered for him. Instead of waiting for the women he ran a few paces forward till he was in the path. He yelled back at them. "Kind of cool in here but not very scary." Ethan turned to the newest arrival. "Not yet Dashna. There are people on their way though." He had been the one to make the path and he knew exactly how many were waiting at the path. No one asked about how he did or knew these things though. ((going to bed, if my characters need to move just make them. Even loud music isn't keeping me up anymore.)) |
((night!!!))
Listening to the other girl she nodded. "I'm Aireandend by the way," she said with the tiniest of smiles. Which was quite a lot of her she usually didn't smile until she knew the person better. Her father had pounded seriousness into her from a young age. "Come Raj." She said to her horse and pulled her forward onto the path. Aireandend walked slow so if the girl wanted to walk with her she could. "Alright!" Dashna said enthusiastically. She was excited for the guests to arrive. There would be new people and she hoped someone fell in love with the Prince. She hated how alone he was. Dashna didn't even care about the curse she just cared about his happiness. That was the most important thing. |
Risette smiled as she looked over at him,"No, not today, sorry..." She nodded in agreeance with him when he talked about the pathway, but kept on walking. If he didn't keep walking, she'd soon pass him, more focused on sating her curiosity than stopping to socialize right now. She would always introduce herself later, after all. As for now, the path was beginning to end... And she entered a clearing, the castle at the center of it. Risette stared up with it, half in awe. "And here I thought... my parent's house was all grand and spiffy...." she whisered to herself before shaking her head a little.
Sarita smiled goofily at Ethan's reply to Dashna's question, rocking slowly back and forth on her feet as she tried to be more patient. Soon, very soon.... Her smile widened when she could very faintly make out someone nearing the end of the path. It was hard to tell from this distance whether or not they were male or female. A boy...? She guessed, judging by the appearance of short hair. Addison was more distracted with patting his ears down to the top of his head, matting his shaggy brown hair around them in a fashion to try and hide them best he could. His efforts were futile, to say the least. After a few minutes, he sighed, coming his fingers through his hair once as he lifted his ears back up. Then, looking around, he noticed Sarita peering out the window. Curious, he lifted himself onto his tiptoes to look over her head at the individual now approaching the castle. He clapped happily, "One's here!" Of course, he had he same problem determining sex as Sarita had. Taking a deep breath, Risette walked up to the castle, taking a look over her shoulder one to see if anyone else was behind her before turning to face the doors. Holding her breath, she slowly raised her arm to rap steadily on the door three times. Much to her surprise, it swung open a second later. Addison took it upon himself to open the door once it was knocked upon, greeting their first guest with a smile. "Welcome, Sir." he spoke quickly, bowing to Risette. Not saying anything, Sarita simply smacked him harshly upon the back of his head. Risette was definitely a woman, despite her short hair. ((Goodnight. :))) |
Seeing another girl up ahead knock on the door Aireandend steeled her spine and walked forward faster. Behind her Raja huffed making her hair fly forward. "Hey now what was that for?" She mumbled. Coming up to the door she looked around as a man with..are those bunny ears? she thought to herself, opened the door. She stopped and stared at his ears. What in the world is going on? she though to herself. Surely she must be in a dream and if she was it was the best dream ever.
Watching Addison and Sarita fight Dashna shook her head with a smile. Stepping up to the doorway she smiled out to the guest and noticed another girl with a horse. "Welcome to the both of you. We are all so glad you accepted your invitation!" Her appearance left nothing to question if they were seeing things. Dashna was one of the most changed, a lot of her appearance screamed animal and there was no way to hide it all. The eyes, the skin, tail and ears all couldn't be hidden. |
Maxine hurried from room to room, dusting everything off and making sure all the last minute preparations were done. Why did we have to invite all of them? She was perfectly content just having to take care of a few rooms, now this happened. Grumpily she took out her frustration on the pillows, plumping them ferociously. A small yell of dismay came from her lips when she saw she'd pierced one of them with her black claws. Shaking her head she hurried to get another. Task done she inspected herself as she walked down the stairs, Maxine tried to remember who all this racket was for. The Prince, what a lonely guy, mused the young woman as she went to stand near Ethan.
Blythe didn't stop to greet the others who waited on the entrance to the path. She waved joyfully from the back of her gray mare, Crescent, as she raced down the dirt road. Behind her came the angry yells, and those of dismay, from her parents and their guardsmen. They stopped though, before they came close to the legendary castle. Seeing it up ahead Blythe urged Crescent to slow down. Hopping off the young woman walked her horse to the entrance and waited to see what would happen next. Alastaire shifted uncomfortably in his carriage, wanting very much to leave it's confines. Finally he noticed a congregation of people milling about near what he presumed was the Great Pillar. Signaling his coachman to halt, the dark haired man regally stepped out of his carriage. As Alastaire approached the others he raised an eyebrow at the motley collection. Not all of them were of noble blood, and it surprised him. "Bonjour, my name is Alastaire Uriel Dumont ... Who are all of you?" His curiosity knew no bounds, and it was that which had brought him there. |
Lily turned to look at the noble. "Yes, we recieved the letter. We were just heading in." Instead of waiting for his response she simply turned and jogged down the path passing the man from before. She was tired of looking scared. She came up to the door and saw the man waiting there. His ears? She looked inside a moment then walked inside.
Levi picked up his pace and soon reached the castle. This place is fancier then I imagined. He walked inside and froze. These aren't people. What happened here? Ethan smiled at the new arrivals. "Hello ladies and gentleman. Welcome to the castle. If you would like you can have a tour of the place or be shown to your rooms first. The second floor has your rooms but please do not explore up there. The North side is off limits to everyone." He bowed then waved at the staff. "These are the servants. Please do not fear our apperance. A magic was placed on us long ago. We have invited you here so that we and the Prince might have some company." |
When Ethan told their guests not to be afraid of them, Max growled a little. She wanted to see if any of them would actually fear her lionesque appearance. She shifted, exposing her claws to view on purpose. Max liked being different, and she would miss it all when the curse was broken. At the same time tough, she felt bad for the prince...Even if he was annoying and extremely bossy.Tough she thought that was more because he was a prince then anything else.
Untying the bridle from Crescent, and removing the saddle, Blythe let her go so she could roam. The horse had been trained to answer to her name, called by her mistress. Blythe had gotten her trained by a circus performer to do so. It saved time, when she was recognized and wanted to leave quickly. Smiling Blythe entered the hall just as the head servant, with antlers, told everyone where their rooms where located. She gazed at them all, not the least bit afraid of their appearances but intrigued. Actually she thought some of them where quite adorable. Seeing the lion girl growling, she grinned. Blythe was going to enjoy her stay. Approaching the one with antlers Blythe smiled. "Would you mind showing me the room with the best view of outside?" She wanted to see the grounds, they where amazing. It also helped that she thought the deer servant was intriguing, well they all were. Alastaire began walking to the castle, briskly like he did many things. His steps were stiff, and a severe look was on his face when he saw a woman simply let her horse go. That wasn't how things were supposed to be done. The young Lord believed in everyone having their place, and everything having one right way of being done. Climbing up the steps and entering the hall, Alastaire's blue eyes widened in shock. These people couldn't possibly be human. |
Ethan turned to look at Max. "That is enough. You should know better." He turned to address the lady when a man walked in. He turned to him. "Hello sir. Welcome to the Castle. Do not fear us. It is simply a magic that was placed on us. The others can tell you more about the palace but I must leave to show this fair one to her room." He waved at the girl who had spoken. "If anyone else would like to see the rooms please come with me. We will be having dinner in about an hour. Everyone is required to come."
He turned back to the lady. "This way madame." He bowed at everyone then turned and started walking. He led the way up the stairs then towards the rooms. He noticed that two of the others were following along with the lady. These are the rooms. You may look at them and pick the one you like the most. They each have a number on the door. When you have picked please tell me. Lily followed behind the deer man. When he led them to the rooms she simply stood still. She would let the others pick first. Levi followed behind the two females and the male servant. This is going to be fun. Levi smiled at the women and looked at the rooms. He walked to the back line of rooms and started to go down the hall. A woman stepped out of the back room and he jerked back. She's a snake! Snow heard people coming and sighed. She had planned on being out of the rooms before they came up. She slithered out of the last room and came face to face with a young blond man. She started to smile then saw the look on his face. Instead she moved out of the hall way and bowed to Ethan. "Hello sir. I am sorry I wasn't done. It is nice to see so many people have come." She moved out of the way and went to stand near Ethan. |
Addison cringed as he was slapped upon the head, simply rubbing it with one hand as he continued to quickly greet all who came in through the door. He bowed slightly to all who entered as he held the door for them, smiling cheerfully as he began to see the great turnout this happened to bring. All the better for the master... and, of course, all the better for us. More practice brings more perfection. His ears stayed up and about as he quickly greeted everyone before Ethan's grand welcoming, only twitching every so often when he noticed someone looking at them.
Sarita stood calmly at Addison's side, smiling politely to all who entered, but saying nothing in greetings, leaving that to Ethan. However, once Ethan was done speaking, she would clear her voice softly, then speak up, "Refreshments, anyone?" she asked, holding up her tray. It contained a few different beverages as well as cups to serve them in if anyone accepted one. As she waited for any kind of response, just looking about those who have entered, she smiled, adjusting her talons beneath her in excitement. Like Addison, she was very happy to see the good turnout, looking forward to serving their new guests over the next year. Risette simply shook her had a little at Addison's greeting, smiling and accepting his mistake before entering. It was a bit shocking to see that all the servants had animal parts, some more like animals than others, but she minded herself not to stare, not wishing to be rude. Instead, she grinned as she looked them all over, trying to decide what to do first. As she was offered refreshments, she smiled and nodded slowly, "Water, please." After Sarita served it, she would nod and thank her before taking a sip. Then, following after Ethan, she casually glanced at the rooms, not sure which she would prefer, for she didn't care too much for her living arrangements right now. Nevertheless, she did pick one. It was one of the first few she looked at, just wishing to have some sort of window outside, though not picky about where. She'd return to Ethan, "Excuse me, sir, may I take room number two?" |
Ethan smiled and bowed. "Of course you may dear. I shall have you marked down for room 2. If you need anything for your room don't be afraid to ask." He made a mental note to mark down her room. "Might I ask your name to put it down with your room?"
|
Jayson stood at the entrance of the path, not sure of what to do. Should he walk down the path or wait for someone to get him? The invitation he had received was exactly clear about it. He had travelled quite a distance and wasn't about to turn back now. He had to see what was in that castle. "I wonder if everything they've said is true. Could the prince really be a hideous beast?"
Akira walked out of the stables. She had just burshed all of the horses and feed all of the animals. In a few days, the prince would be having a hunting party, and she had to keep the deer nice plump. She picked up a bucket of fish that she had caught earlier and headed toward the kitchen. She hoped the guests would enjoy the meal for the night. "Where is Dash?" |
