Brigid was getting scared. To her staying lost in the woods would have been better, instead of what was happening now. She didn't know what to do right now. She felt she was in over her head right . " What's going on ? Who are these men? The man who helped me out of the woods is starting to scare me. Same with the first man I met. Jack seems to be the only normal one of the three. I trust his judgement . I'll side with him when this is over. "She thought to herself. A look of fear was on her face due to the confusion. She wished this would be resolved quickly.
|
Jack looked from one being to the other, a shimmer of doubt beginning to appear in his silvery-blue eyes. They both knew about Rose, both had mentioned details that only The Doctor should know. He glanced at the girl in the room and saw that she was beginning to look frightened. Instincts honed over the years of protecting his team kicked in and Jack automatically put himself between her and the two Doctors. He shifted his body slightly, not turning completely from the pair but adjusting his vission just enough to see Brigid.
"It'll be alright," he said, his voice as soothing as he could make it without using his 51st century adaptations. "Just stay calm okay? Can you do that for me?" |
Brigid shook her head yes. She didn't dare open her mouth , because she didn't know if she would scream or yell at them all to get out. She was glad Jack came over to reassure her. She hoped he was right. She was doing her best to stay calm. It would make things worse if she didn't. She trusted him .
|
The Master then looked towards Jack as he positioned himself between the girl and the timelords. He smiled at Jack before turning back to face the doctor.
"You know we do have more pressing matters at hand. Take this Girl's school for example she says there are strange things going on. I think we should go have a look see don't you?" He seemed almost giddy to investigate the school. Who knew what tools of destruction could be found. |
Brigid was feeling a little better now. " I'm sorry about getting upset. I've been on edge all week because of what's happening. One of my good friends went missing yesterday and no one cares. It's almost like she never existed. But I remember her. I have a picture of her in my purse that I took last week. What's happening to me? I feel like I've lost my mind." Brigid had to vent . She missed her friend. And it bothered her that she was missing. "I can take you there tomorrow if you gentlemen like, I don't have classes and it isn't uncommon for me to be there on a day that I don't. She was willing to help them in any way she could . She hoped they could be trusted.
|
Jack turned to herm, smiling slightly as she said that she was feeling better.
"Atta girl," he said, grinning slightly. He was glad to hear that she wasn't quite so nervous although he couldn't share in her feelings. Something was still putting him on edge, something which he couldn't quite explain but somehow trusted. There was something just not right about this situation but he wouldn't comment on it further, not yet anyway. He needed to wait, to observe and think before he acted or things could and would most likely go downhill faster than he could say 'torchwood three'. |
((sorry for being away so long. everything started getting hectic!))
The Doctor looked at Jack hoping that he would be able to tell who was the real Doctor and who was the fake. He knew they had a strange connection because they both traveled through time and space and then they traveled together for awhile. Then the girl's story came out and that got the Doctor thinking. Yes, indeed they need to help the girl, and the Master is more than likely to mess up somewhere. He smiled, "Sounds like there's a mystery to solve, eh Jack? Just like the good old days." he winked at his fellow comrade and then turned to the girl. "So, we'll see you bright and early then?" |
""Yes. How does 8:30 sound? Meet me in the cafeteria. I probably will grab breakfast there . Thank you for agreeing to help me." Brigid said. She hoped they would be able to help her . She hoped her friend was found and she would know what was really happening. She was still suspicious of the Doctors. She wanted to know which one to trust the most. She had to trust them.
|
"8:30? That sounds perfect to me" The master glanced up towards the doctor with a smile. He then headed for the door of the girl's apartment. "So I will be there by 8:30 at your school cafeteria and I do expect to see these two there as well."
|
Jack shrugged at the tie arranged. It wasn't as if he had anything better to do. What was he going to do? Go back to Torchwood? Not a chance that was going to happen in the near future if he had anything to say about it. So the question was what did he do now? Which Doctor should he follow if either? He glanced from one to the other, uncertainty written in his expression. He was glad that he was at an angle so the girl couldn't see it. That definitely wouldn't reassure her that things would be alright and the last thing they needed was a panicing human on their hands (he did not fully count himself as human anymore, he was immortal after all).
|
The Doctor turned to leave and then looked back at Jack. "Come on Jack. We've got some catching up to do," he said hoping that the Master wouldn't do the same. He was going to go back to his TARDIS and get all the information he could on the Master and he wanted Jack there with him as a witness. then maybe they could come up with a plan to make the Master mess up with something without looking like they are doing that. and all would be revealed and the Doctor could finish him off.
|
Brigid was glad they agreed to help her. She wanted to find out what was going on. She still was uneasy but didn't show it. "I hope they can help me. I have to trust the two Doctors. I trust Jack. But there's something different about him."Brigid thanked them for agreeing to meet her. She would be there at 7:30 and get breakfast and drop off her book list for next semester.
|
((sorry for the delayed and small post... Family emergency))
The master gave the Doctor an approving nod as he headed out of the apartment room. His plan was simple get to his Tardis and make minor modifications to its signal levels to more readily read as the Doctor's. If luck was on his side he would be done before the Doctor could prove otherwise. |
Brigid sat on her couch as the men left her apartment. She hoped things would work out. She started to cry at the thought of her friend Jill. Why didn't anyone remember her? What was going on? Who could she trust?
