Cal snorted. That would be just like the puck to do something like that. Getting up, he brushed himself off and held out a hand for Jeane.

"May as well, then," he said. He figured Khalid would come back out when she felt like it, and didn't think any more of it.

Jeane took his hand and got up, gathering up her bag and looping her arm through Cal's as she led the way towards the hotel.

Robin eyed the two of them before he grinned and held out a key. "There you go. Have fun." But he was grinning like a trickster.

Jeane eyed him for a few moments, wary. "What about you three and Niko?"

"Niko has his own room not far from yours, and we're up one level." Robin grinned. "Now shoo." He slipped off to go collect Ish.

Cal watched the puck warily. He knew that look. That was the look that meant Robin was up to no good.

"I guess we may as well see what room he stuck us with," he muttered to Jeane.

Jeane nodded and looked at him for a moment before she took the stairs up to their room.

Their room, which turned out to be the honeymoon suite.

Oh she was going to kill Robin for that.

Yeah. Cal had suspected as much. He snorted a bit.

"I'm not surprised," he commented. "He had that look on his face."

Jeane sighed and shook her head, taking her bag into the room. "Well, I suppose it could be worse," she muttered. At least the suite wasn't too horribly obnoxious. She did turn red when she found condoms in the bedside table, though.

Cal barely blinked when he looked over her shoulder to see what made her blush so much. Made sense to him: honeymoon suite, complimentary condoms. It was still all Robin's fault for making them take that room, though.

Jeane grumbled unintelligibly, going over to peek out the window. At least there was a good view. Still grumping, mostly because she could, she toed off her shoes and went to investigate the bathroom.

A few hours later, Khalid was outside lounging on the beach. It was hot and sunny, and she could still get away with her bathing suit for a little while longer, damn it. So she was going to lay out on the beach and enjoy it while she could.

Jeane had already slipped into the water, although she hadn't gone very far out yet. She was mostly exploring and looking at all the fish swimming around her feet.

Ishiah and Robin were both lounging on the beach not far from Khalid. Robin had stretched out fully, wearing little swim shorts only because he'd already been yelled at for trying not to. Ishiah was sitting up keeping track of everyone else.

Khalid knew that Ishiah and Robin were hovering fairly close, but she ignored them. She was still annoyed at them both for being overbearing.

Cal was sitting in what shade he could find, avoiding sunburn and watching Jeane have fun.

Ishiah looked over when Robin started creeping over to Khalid and rolled his eyes. Oh this was going to be fun...

Robin plunked himself down next to Khalid. "Anything you want to do while we're here?" He looked over at her. It was a legitimate question, after all. And not overbearing.

Jeane swam a little farther away, ducking under the water for as long as she could manage to investigate the fish. And then came up looking a little like a half-drowned cat.

"I'm just fine sunbathing for a little while," Khalid replied, opening her eyes to look at Robin. "Why, what were you planning?"

Cal couldn't help but snicker a bit when he saw Jeane. Yeah, she looked like a drowned cat. But she seemed to be having fun.

Nothing yet." Robin shrugged. "I was just wondering." Mosly. Plus he wanted to know what they'd be doing.

Jeane ducked under the water again and blinked when she spotted something shiny. Diving down, she picked up what looked like a hair comb, studying it carefully.

"Then I'm going to keep sunbathing while you decide whether or not to keep hovering like you are," Khalid replied, closing her eyes again. She sighed slightly. "It's almost like being back home."

"Find something interesting?" Cal called to Jeane. He didn't get up from his spot in the shade just yet; experience taught him that he'd practically glow in the sun for a while before frying to a crisp.

Robin hummed. "We could always go back there," he said. "I'm sure Jeane would let you." He stretched out next to her again, going back to lounging.

Jeane swam back over to him and flopped down next to him, shaking herself off. "Here." She held out the hair comb to him, still dripping. "I found this in the sand."

"I need to be where I can look after her," Khalid replied. "Not indulging in nostalgia for Arabia." The desert was too harsh for Jeane, anyways. She needed to ease the historian into it before taking her out into the desert proper to see what was left of Arabia.

"Weird," Cal said, taking the comb and looking at it. After a moment, he shrugged and handed it back. He had no idea where it was from. For all he knew, someone had just dropped it on the beach.

Robin shrugged. "As you like. One day, though." He was going to get her back out to Arabia one day, no matter what he had to do. Even if he had to drag Jeane out there himself.

"It doesn't look familiar. I mean, there's a normal style for these things, and this isn't it." Jeane frowned at it, puzzled, and tapped it before scratching at it, trying to figure out what it was made out of.

"Maybe," Khalid allowed. She opened her eyes again, but didn't look at anything in particular. "I think any sort of plans like that got put on hold for a while, though." As she spoke, one of her hands unconsciously went to touch her stomach gently.

"I dunno, maybe there's a gift shop around here that sells them," Cal replied. He had no interest in things like hair accessories. "If you don't recognize it, ask Nik or Robin or someone."

"For a while," Robin agreed. "But not forever." He stretched briefly before resettling himself in the sand. "Probably not too long, actually."

Jeane nodded and debated getting up to go ask one of them, then decided against it. She slipped the hair comb into her bag instead.

"We'll see," Khalid said. She glanced at him. "You and Ishiah have been... unusually attentive lately, I've noticed," she commented. She didn't accuse them of hovering, but still.

Robin shrugged. "We both want to make sure nothing happens," he said quietly. "We're all used to being independent. This is new for all of us, and we want to make sure nothing gets screwed up too badly."

Khalid sighed a bit and rolled over onto her side, propped up on one arm while the other draped over her waist.

"I'm trying my best to make sure nothing goes wrong," she said softly. "You know that, he knows that. I don't want anything to happen any more than you both do."

"We know," Robin confirmed. He looked at her for a moment. "Look, none of us really know what to do here." He looked vaguely uncomfortable at that.

"It's all your fault, you know," Khalid teased him, trying to lighten the mood a little. "Ish and I wouldn't have been in the same bed if it wasn't for you. Not that I'm complaining, of course."
