Husni glared right back at Cal before he sat next to Jeane. "Whiskey. Leave the bottle." He indicated a brand that normally only Robin drank.

Jeane eyed the two for a moment before focusing on the more important male. "Cal," she said quietly. "Do I need to go buy fish sticks?"

Mageling 06-13-2012 05:42 AM

Cal glanced at Jeane, but didn't give an answer. If he needed to be a little more Auphe than normal to deal with the newcomer, then he would for now. He would probably pay for it later in more ways than one, but that was later. Getting down the whiskey, he opened it and set the bottle and a glass in front of the djinn. He could pour his own damn whiskey.

Woofie267 06-13-2012 05:54 AM

Jeane frowned a little as she watched him, but she didn't speak her worry aloud. Not at the bar. She'd ask him later, when she could make him answer.

The djinn poured himself some whiskey, shooting it back easily before looking at Jeane again. "Where is Khalid?"

"I'll tell you if you answer some questions. Like why you're here."

"I found out you were likely to be here, so you can tell me where I may find Khalid." Husni shot Jeane a very unfriendly look.

"Here in this city."

He shrugged. "I wished to be here."

Jeane thought that over. "No, ah, other attachments, then?"

Husni tensed. "What does it matter to you, human?"

Mageling 06-13-2012 06:16 AM

Now Cal knew where this was going. It wasn't hard to tell what answer Jeane was trying to get from the djinn, but he wasn't going to interfere yet. Jeane was better at this kind of thing.

Woofie267 06-13-2012 07:33 PM

Jeane slipped into old Arabic again, and Husni interrupted her. She scowled briefly before she continued, and Husni looked briefly shocked before he looked tempted to hit her. Again. Clearly she was just an infuriating human.

Grinning briefly, Jeane pulled out her cell phone to text Khalid. Is it okay if I tell Husni you'll be here in an hour? I can go babysit Alexander if you want, or I can send Ish or Robin back. But he has some pertinent information to something I've been trying to find out for a while.

Mageling 06-13-2012 09:25 PM

It is Husni, then. Khalid had figured as much. Has he pissed anyone off yet?

Woofie267 06-13-2012 11:27 PM

Not quite but Cal's starting to look trigger-happy. And Husni keeps saying he wants to see you or know where you live, and I figured you'd like to meet him here more than have him show up at the house.

Mageling 06-13-2012 11:36 PM

You figured right. Khalid paused for a moment, thinking. If Cal is a little trigger-happy, send Robin home to look after Alexander. Ishiah will want to keep an eye on Cal at the bar, and Robin has been looking for an excuse to dote on Alexander, anyways. I can be there once Robin shows up.

Woofie267 06-14-2012 12:29 AM

Alright. I'll send him back.

Jeane shut her phone and looked over at Robin. "Oi. You. Go babysit Alexander for a while."

Robin opened his mouth to protest, looked at her phone, and sighed. "Alright, alright," he grumbled. "You don't have to order me around. Please and thank you are nice, you know. Cal's manners must be rubbing off on you, which is just a damn shame."

Mageling 06-14-2012 12:33 AM

Cal just snorted at that and didn't comment. He barely trusted himself right now to do anything without giving in to the urge to shoot something.

Woofie267 06-14-2012 12:34 AM

Jeane kept most of her attention on Cal, worried about him. But she didn't say anything, just watched him.

Robin didn't take long to get home again, and he grinned at Khalid.

"So I assume it was your idea to send me back to watch over Alexander," he said, not moving to take the boy just yet.

Mageling 06-14-2012 12:39 AM

Khalid nodded.

"From what Jeane tells me, it was better to let Ish keep an eye on Cal, for the moment," she said. She smirked just a bit. "Besides, I know you've been wanting the chance to spoil Alexander a bit without us around."

Woofie267 06-14-2012 12:43 AM

Robin grinned and didn't even bother to deny it. "Well, good thinking. Ish should be able to handle things until you get there, although try not to annoy Cal too much. Ish keeps threatening to fire him, and I don't even want to know what Jeane would do to him if he actually did fire Cal."

Mageling 06-14-2012 12:49 AM

"He won't," Khalid replied. She was confident about that. "Cal is too good of a guard dog to fire him, and Ish knows it." She gave Robin a quick kiss and handed him Alexander. "But I'll try to keep my Caliban-baiting to a minimum, anyways. Husni probably already tried to piss him off."

Woofie267 06-14-2012 05:18 AM

"Oh I have no doubt. Probably inadvertently, too, just by glaring at Jeane like he has been." Robin rolled his eyes and took Alexander, bouncing the boy just a little before holding him properly.

Mageling 06-14-2012 05:29 AM

Khalid snorted softly.

"No, Husni probably did it deliberately at some point," she said. She was certain of it. "Regardless... Call if you have any issues, and I'll come back."

Woofie267 06-14-2012 05:33 AM

Robin waved her concerns off. "Don't worry about us, we'll be fine." He grinned at her. "I've already got some entertainment ordered for us on TV." He was only joking around, of course. Although he did have some kids movies he wanted to watch with Alexander so he could make fun of them.

Mageling 06-14-2012 05:41 AM

Khalid rolled her eyes.

"Alright," she said. "You know what to do if there are problems." With that, she popped herself over to the bar to see what was going on.

Woofie267 06-14-2012 05:49 AM

Husni was still glaring at Jeane, who was steadfastly ignoring him in favor of watching Cal. However, the instant she popped in, Husni diverted his attention to Khalid.

"Khalid," he murmured, moving over to her. "My love. It has been a long time."

Mageling 06-14-2012 05:55 AM

"Husni," Khalid replied evenly. She resisted the urge to take a step back, instead holding her ground. "I'm not your anything anymore. That time has long since come and passed."

Woofie267 06-14-2012 05:58 AM

Husni looked at her for a moment before he smiled faintly. "You are right. It has been a long time, and I forget myself. Will you sit so we may talk?"

Mageling 06-14-2012 06:21 AM

"I will sit," Khalid said, "And we will talk. But it would be wise for you to keep in mind that there is no 'us' anymore, Husni. There hasn't been for a long time." She sat down and almost asked Cal for the Arabian spiced wine that Ish had started stocking, but thought better of it. She wanted her wits about her at the moment.

Woofie267 06-14-2012 06:24 AM

Husni chuckled and sat next to her. "I had forgotten how your temper can flare," he said with a grin. "And you look almost the same as always. But your hair is longer now, and I see you've found more of your beads again."

Mageling 06-14-2012 06:36 AM

"They were returned to me," Khalid replied. "You don't seem to have changed much, either. Although I do notice you don't seem to be in anyone's control at the moment."

Woofie267 06-14-2012 06:43 AM

"I'm not. No longer. I'm free, Khalid." He grinned at her then. "I could tell you how, although you don't seem to be very tethered at the moment."
