Jeane snickered when she saw the random generic affirmative. "Oh yeah, he's distracted," she said, grinning at Khalid.
"I could ask Robin what's happening at the bar," Khalid offered with a grin. "I'm sure he'd love to provide a running commentary."
"That could actually be very amusing." Jeane grinned. "Especially since this is Robin and every other or every third sentence would be something about Ish."
Khalid snickered a bit, and pulled out her own phone.
Anything interesting happening? she sent Robin. |
Oh just Cal salivating for his guns, Robin texted back. Coupla newcomers are pissing him off. And Ish is getting flustered.
It must be bad if Ish is flustered. And if she knew him, Ish was probably molting by that point. "You were right," Khalid added aloud for Jeane.
No worse than a few drunk wolves. Whoops, Cal might be a little later than expected. Robin just grinned manically.
Wonderful. The sarcasm practically radiated from the word. Jeane is here until he gets off of work, so tell him to move his ass.
So eager to get rid of your girl so can molest us properly?
You're the one who said it. Khalid couldn't help something of a smirk. Besides, I'm not popping Jeane back home, and she's not walking by herself.
That gave Robin pause. Normally Khalid had no problems with popping Jeane wherever she liked.
And why does she need to walk home? I agree with her not walking alone, but why are you not just popping her home like you usually do? |
Because she finally got fed up with Cal tiptoeing around the issue and asked me to do what needed to be done. Hey, just because she was free didn't mean she was going to just start refusing Jeane.
This is going to be entertaining. Robin grinned. Cal doesn't know yet. That much was obvious. He wouldn't be at the bar if he did know.
Of course not. She asked me about it after we kicked you out. Khalid couldn't help a grin of her own. Oh yes, this was going to be interesting. And he won't know until she's certain.
I bet we'll be able to tell when the fireworks start going. Because there would definitely be fireworks about this.
Of course. Because from what she knew about Cal, he wouldn't take the news calmly. He'd freak out. Any estimate on how long it'll take him to get out of there tonight, so I can tell Jeane?
Another hour, maybe? Depends how motivated he is to finish up quickly. Would you like me to give him some extra motivation? The grin was clear in Robin's words.
If it involves telling him about Jeane, no. If it involves groping Ish, make sure Ish doesn't come home in a bad mood. Because she knew exactly which two extremes Robin would jump to.
Really, I'm not that bad. I was thinking of insinuating something to Cal about poor Jeane being lonely and waiting for him. That should get his lazy ass in motion.
I wouldn't have said it if I didn't know you were thinking it. She paused. I might suggest Jeane text him again soon, anyways.
I only thought about it for a second, Robin grumbled. Besides, Ish isn't yet in the mood for being groped.
If Cal's in such a bad mood, I'm not surprised, Khalid replied. Although it might change Ish's mood a little if you tell him Alexander managed to get frustrated enough to sprout feathers again.
It took Robin a minute to reply. Yeah, that distracted him sufficiently. He wants to know what colors and how big and all sorts of things that I don't know and he's glaring at me because I don't know.
He knows all of that already, Khalid pointed out. Alexander's wings haven't changed since the last time we saw them. We know his feathers are very similar to Ish's.
I know, but that's what he's asking. He said something about wings grow and change slowly while he's growing up, so Ish wants to keep track. I guess. You can take it up with the peri when we get home.
