"BLANE!" Diva barked as she could hear his voice getting closer. "BLANE IS THAT YOU!?" Squinting her eyes she could make out the sillouhette of a medium build dark dog. The wind blew in her direction, carrying his scent to her nose and all doubt was erased. She hurried to Blane excitedly and embraced him best dogs can. "I'm so happy to see you, come on, let's get out of the snow." Diva said as she led him to the cave. "BROTHER, BROTHER!!!" She called out with excitment as the two returned to the cave.

"DIVA!!" Balto howled out into the snow. He waited a moment before his ears picked up her voice as she called out brother. As she came upon the cave balto notices she had another wolf with her

"Brother, he found me... I found him... it doesn't matter." Diva's heart was racing and she was elated to have Blane to be part of their small new pack. "This is Blane, he's my mate, a German shepard wolf mix."

Gemini extracted herself from the tangle of polar bear limbs and limped to the mouth of the cave, curious about all the commotion. "What's going on? Diva? Balto? Who is this?" She asked.

Blane nodded to Balto to say hello. He was nervous here but he was happy to have found Diva.

Diva looked at Gemini softly, she felt saddened that she'd found her mate while this she-wolf laid in the exact cave she had lost her own mate and worse yet, her only pup. Walking to the injured wolf's side, Diva helped support Gemini's weight so not to agitate her wounds further.

"Gemini, this is Blane, my mate." She explained in a now humbled tone. Muck and Luck had also joined the small reunion but said nothing as the observed what was going on, hoping another random fight wasn't on the edge of breaking out.

"So your my little sisters better half" Balto said with a small smile. He was happy that another male had joined the ground. wolf packs may stay away from them now

"I'd say she's the better half of me." Blane said snuggling Diva. He was happy that he was accepted by the other male half bread.

"Well welcome to the family pack " Balto said with a smaller smile. " Where here to look for gemini's family, but she needs to rest. come on inside"

Diva nodded for Blane to fallow Balto and herself as she helped Gemini keep her balance and led her to the back of the cave.

"It sure has been quite the day of meeting people hasn't it Luck?" Muck asked his larger brother as they fallowed the pack.

"Hmm hmmm mmmmhmmmm mmmmm." Luck agreed with a smile on his face, nodding like a bafoon.

"so blane where have you been all this time?"

"I've been looking fo her. After I lead the hunters away, I went back to our den. I though they kil her. But I could smell her foot prints. I lost the trail and have been wandering everywhere since." He looked at Bato and sat down.

"How did you know we where out here?" Balto asked tring to pass time

Diva sat next to Blane and listend intently to his story. To hear that he'd been searching for her as well reassured her of their bond together.

"I had no idea actually. Every so often I barked when I was walking. I hoped she'd hear me eventually, and she did." Blane answered and smiled at Diva.

Balto smiled. He wished Jenna was hear, and then he felt for gemini. She must be hurting seeing them together

Gemini followed the rest into her den and lay back down.instead of being hurt or bitter, she was happy to see the couple reunited.it gave her comfort to see lost love restored."I'm so happy for you, Diva.it's good to know that one of us has found what they were looking for." She said, her tone genuine but tired.

A warm smile took over Diva's face at Gemini's kind words. She wished there was someway she could assure her that her pup was alright. Diva hoped in her heart that Gemini's pain would someday be cut in atleast half by reuniting with her kin.

"Things will work out for you also dear. There is an old saying I remember hearing from our mother before we were seperated." Diva looked from Gemini to her Balto at the mention of their mom. "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end." Her eyes moved from Balto's and scanned the pairs of eyes in the room. Closing her eyes, Diva took a deep breath. "It's one of my only memories of her, but it's the words that have kept me going threw every hard time I've encountered."

Balto didnt smile. The thought of his mother made him want to cry, and he didnt want to cry in front of everyone. "lets get some sleep" Balto said moving to a small corner of the den

"Sounds good to me..." Gemini sighed.she let her head rest on her paws and finally, finally let herself sleep, Diva's words echoing through her dreams.

Blane laid down next to Diva. He was happy to be resting peacefully for once.

Diva fell asleep nuzzled into Blane. Muck and Luck went over to Gemini and laid near but not on her. Their heat would shield her from the cold.

The dawn broke throw the den walls and into Baltos eyes. The cold air melted off of his fur causing him to shake. Balto awoke to the silence of the sun, and walked to the mouth of the cave. There where foot prints outside of the den. " cant even wake up to peace" Balto thought as he moved slowly to follow the prints

Gemini woke up only moments after Balto had left.she always woke early, no matter what.she looked around at the sleeping bodies scattered over the floor of the den and grinned.carefully, so as not to wake anyone, she padded out of the den and stood at the mouth of the cave, letting the sun warm her fur.the scent of Balto and some other being alerted her to the footprints.she sniffed at then cautiously, and looked to see them stretching away into the trees.part of her was very tempted to follow, especially since it seemed that Balto had only just gone, but decided to stay in case the others woke and had questions."besides" she said to herself "I probably shouldn't aggravate my wounds too much yet.Balto can handle himself until everyone gets to him."
