Leon loaded his guns again and looked over at the two that accompanied him. Well...Ada could shoot and pretty well take care of herself. And Ashley, if nothing else, could deafen their enemies. Somewhere, he was glad he wasn't alone like he had been for a lot of the time in Raccoon City...how the hell did he GET these jobs, anyway?
"Uh..." He searched for something amusing to say. "...I got nothing interesting to add. Let's get moving." A first for Leon...he had nothing witty to say before they moved. |
Ashley took a hold of one of Leon's arms, a bit nervous in this dark corridor. Ada followed close behind, looking around every few minutes to make sure nothing was following them. Ashley yawned softly, still recovering from sleep on the floor.
Within a few seconds, Ashley was already starting to whimper. Suddenly, she pointed over Leon's shoulder, towards another door at the end of the Hallway. "Leon! Look!" |
Leon was also wary of the place...he'd learned from experience that the people here did really insane shit just so they could jump out at him and startle him...like that one guy who'd hidden in the oven. What the crap was with THAT? When Ashley pointed, however, he snapped out of whatever trance he was in and looked to where she was pointing.
"What is it?" |
"It's a door, Leon. Maybe...we can...?"
She shivered suddenly and looked over at him, whimpering lightly. "Don't leave me alone, okay?" She suddenly said. Apparently, in her sleep she'd gotten nervous of Leon giving up on her. |
He blinked. She was nervous about that?
"I won't leave you behind. Promise." He looked to Ada. "Shall we, then? Door or hallway?" Haha. Hallway. |
"Door." Ada nodded, sneaking over to it before kicking it open and peering inside.
"Empty. Come on, guys." Ashley released Leon and ran into the room, hiding under something. The poor girl was losing her wits, scared of every turn. "...Leon..." Ada looked at him with a slightly worried look. |
He was surprised by Ashley's hiding. Leon looked at Ada, mirroring her worry.
"Ashley? Is everything okay? Do you need to take a break or something?" He wasn't sure how to help anybody in this condition. |
Ashley was rocking back and forth, head resting on her knees. The only reply Leon got was a soft whimper, and she shut her eyes. Too much had happened for the younger female to really understand, not knowing anything about the Los Illuminados, Umbrella or the things that Leon had gone through. Ashley had always thought she'd be perfectly fine, in the United States, with her father. She had never thought she would face this.
Ada kneeled beside Ashley and stroked her hair slightly, the first nice thing the brunette had done for the blonde. |
Who ever did think they would face all of this? It had taken a lot for Leon to accept all of what had happened to Raccoon City...and what was happening here as well. It STILL confused him at times. He, however, didn't know how to help Ashley. He didn't know anything about how he'd come to cope with everything himself, he just...did.
"...should we take a break for a little while, Ada?" |
Ada nodded, and collapsed into a chair, reloading her gun and sharpening her knife slightly. Ashley was still rocking back and forth, whimpering lightly.
She would look over at Leon, slightly apologetic. "I'm...sorry about earlier, Leon. I didn't mean to snap like that." |
Leon shook his head. "...this place is horrible. It stresses you out and you've got no outlet but the people your around. I understand why you would be snappish." He paused. "...it's okay."
Leon started to sharpen his knife as well. Truth be told, he wished that he was at home with his cat, Burnt Pancakes. Yes...his cat was named Burnt Pancakes...the poor cat's full name was a mouthful. If anyone asked, they'd get his practiced speech about his cat. "My cat's name is Burnt Pancakes. He was baked too long before he was born. His full name is Burnt Pancakes With Maple Syrup Kennedy." And it would be followed by that laugh that he always got when he thought something he'd said was terribly funny. |
Ada smiled sweetly at him, nodding. She moved her chair over a bit, close enough so she could lean on the male. She would rest her head on his shoulder and sigh lightly. She wasn't trying to make a move, just...show him that she was sorry.
Ashley climbed out from the table and stood awkwardly beside them, ringing her hands nervously. |
Leon blinked again. He blinked a lot. He didn't argue when Ada leaned on him. He didn't argue when she put her head on his shoulder. He just...blinked.
"How long should we wait here? Couple minutes? Half hour?" He had to talk about SOMETHING at this point...in fact, if it came down to it and Ada wouldn't do more than grunt and shrug her shoulders, he'd probably end up bringing up his cat. |
Ada would infact just grunt and shrug, happy with being close to Leon. If she couldn't be with him romantically, at least she could be close to him.
Ashley would sit on his other side, and lean against him as well. Man, Leon just gets all the chicks, doesn't he? |
All the chicks indeed. He probably had a chicken egg in his attaché case that was about to hatch as well. And that was it.
"...did I ever tell either of you about my cat?" Here it comes...run for your lives. |
Ashley nuzzled his shoulder lightly, still unable to talk. But that probably translated into 'no'.
Ada would chuckle softly and grin. "You've got a cat?" They didn't want to run for their lives. Leon was hot. |
Leon laughed. "My cat's name is Burnt Pancakes. He was baked too long before he was born. His full name is Burnt Pancakes With Maple Syrup Kennedy." Leon laughed. "I named him that because he was left on my doorstep one morning when I was making pancakes...I heard the meowing and went to investigate and I burnt my breakfast. So I named him after my dearly departed food."
|
Boom. Both girls.
"Awwwwwww!" Leon had the magic words. Ones that could make mentally scarred blondes suddenly squeal. "That's so adorable, Leon!" "It totally is!" Cue swooning. |
It certainly surprised him...he'd expected something more along the lines of 'but it's a CAT, not breakfast' followed by a bit of laughter and 'I hope you don't plan on eating it.'
"I want to get a dog and name it French Toast With Powdered Sugar Kennedy." Would that have the same effect? Who knew... |
Ada coo'd at him, Ashley nuzzled his neck and shoulder and...both were suddenly possessive.
"Hey, I saw him first!" "No, I did!" "HE'S GONNA TAKE ME HOME!" "I CAN FIX THAT." And then... "Awww~ Powered sugar Kennedy? That's SOOOO cute..." |
Leon was now very uncomfortable. Two women attacking one another and then suddenly sugary-sweet again...what had he gotten himself into?
"I also want a ferret named Waffles. Or perhaps a rabbit..." ...he was just digging himself in deeper, wasn't he? |
"DAMMIT, BLONDIE. GET OUT OF THE WAY."
"No! Leeon....Don't you love me?" "OH STOP BEING FULL OF YOURSELF!" "Oh, you...you BITCH!" And then. "Waffles?! That's SOOOOOO adorable, Leoooon!" |
Leon didn't know when to stop, apparently.
"I also want a hamster named Popover, hedgehog named Muffins and mice named Cookie and Biscuit." He didn't even seem aware of the fighting going on around him. |
"FUCK YOU, BLONDIE."
"RIGHT BACK AT YOU...UH....BRUNETTTE. YEAH. TAKE THAT." Both of them were too distracted to hear Leon this time, and the fight quickly got psychical. Ada was attempting to pin Ashley to the floor while Ashley kicked and screamed and pulled hair and bit, causing Ada to get even MORE pissed off. |
This is when Leon snapped back into reality. And he was unamused. Here he was, trying to tell them something personal and they were fighting. Over what, though?
"Hey! What's going on?" He hoped he wouldn't be ignored. Although, knowing this case, it would be better to NOT be noticed... |
