Neferhenta nodded. "I don't know much about Ashleigh, so it'd help if you guys could give me a bit of insight about her."
"She loves her music," Bakura said. Melhana nodded in agreement. |
"She's also loves any anime and manga which relates to magic" Aka said. She also had a look in Ashleigh's soul room and noticed a book self and a DVD rack.
"Plus she into Ancient Egypt" said a voice. They turned around and..... "UNCLE ATEM!" Yana yelled and hugged Atem. "Yugi let me know about what's going on. I snuck out unnoticed. I came over here as soon as I could. but DON'T tell Ashleigh I was here, she is one of my 'targets' sorry" Atem said. |
Neferhenta froze when she saw Atem's eyes. "What the hell happened?" She asked, reverting to the language of ancient Egypt.
Melhana on the other hand was thinking. "I may know how to get around that," She said in the same tongue. |
"It won't be long till they find out that I wasn't fully turned.....I hope it takes as long as they figured out that Selena didn't turn over properly as Sakura" Atem replied in the same tounge, "But since I had a taste of the seal before, I don't think it be easy for me to return to normal like last time. Because this time, I don't have Yugi to protect me."
|
"Yes, you do. Just not in the same way." Melhana replied. "In fact, you've got all of us here for you. Same as in high school."
"I'll do all I can to help as well, my father." Neferhenta said. "I couldn't do anything in our own time; I was too young. Now, I'm far from it." |
"That's not what I meant. I meant Yugi taking my place if I loose. because, this time, if I loose, there is a chance I won't be back until the whole thing's over. Which reminds me. Where's Max?" Atem replied.
|
Melhana fell silent. "Max is..." She began, but she didn't have to finish.
"She's dead." Bakura said bluntly. "The old HQ was sent into a self-destruct sequence, and Max and the others couldn't shut it down in time. She was caught in the blast." |
"Where is her body? Did you burry it?" Atem asked, tears streaming down his face.
|
"There's going to be a proper funeral first. She's going to be cremated." Melhana replied. "Yugi's been put in charge now that she's gone."
|
Aka was listening in to all of it until now.
"Not so. Remember, Amanda and the Knights took her body so they can try and revive her. Don't tell Atem that though Aka told Melhana. |
'I won't,' Melhana replied.
"On a lighter note, Kaiba's back." Neferhenta said. "Is there any particular reason he looks exactly like Priest Seto?" "He's supposed to be a reincarnation of him." Melhana replied. "However, Seto Oversized-Ego Kaiba doesn't want to believe it and refuses the existance of any kind of magic. And his aura's starting going haywire over the years, so...." "That isn't good." Neferhenta said. "He's got to learn to control his power. If it's unstable, then it could kill him." |
"I saw his power. And unfortanly, it went out of control. If it wasn't for me, Kaiba would've been fully turned, or worse. And they're still hunting you down Melhana for your power. Even Saharia. Yusei's hunting her down for her Sand power" Atem said.
|
"Just peachy." Melhana said. "Is it just me, or is everything fucked up?"
"You're just like father," Neferhenta sighed. "Why?" Melhana asked. "You're good at stating the obvious." Neferhenta replied. Melhana giggled. "Got that right," She said, looking at Atem. |
"But when this is over, Kaiba's magical energy will go and will never return. But there is one way he can keep it if he wished. And you know that answer" Atem replied.
"Are we going to plan the birthday party or what?" Yana asked. |
"He needs to learn how to control it. Plus, the tattoos that I've got on my back." Melhana replied, touching her shoulder. "He'll also need wristbands like the ones we've got."
"It'll be hard, but we'll managed." Neferhenta replied. She turned to Atem and Melhana. "Guys?" "Go ahead," Melhana said. "Want to step out while they plan?" |
"Did you ignore what I just said?? Controlled or not, Kaiba's powers will be depeated by the time the fore is destoried! Unless he admits that what happen happened, he will never live up to my cousin's standard" Atem growled at the pair.
|
Melhana was thinking. "We're just going to have to convince him then." She sighed.
"Easier said than done I'm assuming." Neferhenta said as they went to anothe room and shut the door, Bakura following them. Bakura nodded. "Very." He said. "But am I correct in assuming that Kaiba's power is in his blood?" |
Atem looked the whole gang as they went to the next room.
I have to go now guys. I know that you want to help me but there's nothing you can do to stop for what I'm about to do. Once i do it, there is no going back. I'm so sorry I have to betray you all again, but it's the only way for you to defeat for the one who calls himself the Dark Lord Kaimri. He's the leader of both powers and now who is my master he thought with tears streaming down his face, Good bye and good luck. And with that, disappaered into the dark abiss. |
Melhana, Neferhenta, and Bakura watched as Atem dissapeared. "Well," Melhana finally said. "Looks like we're in for another whirlwind, aren't we?"
Bakura nodded. "And that theif's back, isn't he?" He asked. Melhana nodded. "Damn." "We'll get through it, I'm sure." Neferhenta replied. She started out the door. "You two coming?" "Not yet," Bakura said. "Melhana, can you wait up for a moment?" "Sure," Melhana said as Neferhenta left the room. "What is it?" |
Yana also watched Atem go into the dark abiss.
Bye Uncle. We will get you back, I promise she thought. |
Melhana held back after the others left, wondering what Bakura wanted to ask her. He was looking a bit nervous; or at least, more than lately.
"I...." he said, "I just..." He was looking more nervous than ever, and was playing with something in his pocket. Finally, he blurted something out. "Willyoumaryme?" Melhana stared for a few moments. The room they were in was empty, with everyone else in the living room. "Uh, what?" She asked after a long and awkward silence. Bakura went even redder than before. He pulled the object he was playing with out of his pocket and got down on one knee. "M-Melhana," He said quietly, not meeting her eyes and his face redder than a lobster, "will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" "What's up with Melhana and Bakura?" Jonouchi asked when Neferhenta and Yana left the small kitchen, Yana closing the door after them. "Bakura had something he wanted to ask her in private." Neferhenta replied |
Yana sat down.
"I have no idea. So, shall we get started? The party's in 3 days" she said. |
"All right," Neferhenta said, conjuring a pad of paper and a pencil. "Time for a list." She started jotting down ideas as they came up with them.
Melhana was stunned. "You...what?" She asked in shock. Bakura looked up finally. His face still looked like a sunburnt lobster. "Marry me?" He asked, the whisper barely audible. He turned even redder when Melhana crashed down upon him, catching him in an embrace that caused the both of them to topple to the floor. "Damn it, yes." She said. "And about damn time you asked." |
Before Yana said something, there was a thump next door.
"What are they up to?" she asked. |
"And I don't even have the ring out," Bakura said. He opened the box, revealing a fragile-seeming band about 3/4 of an inch wide. The gold and silver threads were like vines snaking around in a complicated pattern, and some of them even took the shape of leaves which had small, deep saphire-blue stones set in the leaves. There were small rubies set into it as well as flower buds, all around the ring.
Melhana took it out of the box carefully and slipped it onto her left ring finger. "It's beautiful," She whispered. She looked him in the eyes. "This had to have cost a small fortune." Bakura stroked Melhana's golden fringe with his hand. "It still could never compare to you," He whispered. "It's a price I was more than willing to pay for this one moment." And with that, the two locked in a deep kiss. At first Melhana was caught off-guard as Bakura kissed her. Then, she returned it, playing with his tongue as he was with hers. 'Thank you,' She linked to him. 'I should be the one thanking you,' Bakura replied as he guided her up onto her knees, pulling himself up as well. He drew her into an embrace, running his hands through her long, red-and-black hair. "I have no idea," Neferhenta said. As she spoke, she felt a wave of love and passion and gratitude and surprise sweep through Melhana all at once. |
