"Yeah," Yugi said. "I think so at least...."
"What...?" Ruka asked. "That was...Ashleigh who just dropped off." Crow said, looking at his dogtags. "Not just a fairy." the Soul replied. "You are an Arch Angel." |
"So you have to trust the angels with their plan" Ruby said. Just then the stone glowed white, blinding the pair. The Dark essence was absorbed into Ashleigh's body, making the stone pure white.
"Then that's was the spell Ruby was telling us about" Rua replied. "Arch Angel" she replied, then she remembered everything. Her eyes turned to normal. "Wait, what? Arch Angel? You are kidding me right?" the girl spluttered. |
When Yugi opened his eyes, he saw that the stone was pure white. "...what the heck?"
"So you're saying that Ashleigh's dead now too?!" Ruka asked. "Aw, man! This is horrible!" "No, I am not. I cannot lie to you; I am your spirit ka." the Soul replied. "You are an Arch Angel, Ashleigh Mutou." |
Ruby looked at it.
"Looks like a ka has been born" she said, "but this is unusual. Having it born from a stone that turned her to a Dark Angel." Then the stone broke, scattering to peices before dusting over Ashleigh's body. A shimmery Angel placed her arms around Yugi's neck, and rested her head on his for a few minutes before a sudden movement came from the girl's body, following by some muffled words. "What is Rua trying to say that Ashleigh's body's dead but her spirit isn't, meaning there is a chance that she can return" Aki replied. Then the dogtags turned warm again. "Looks like she's back" Rua said. Ashleigh turned to see a pair of wings sprouting from her back. One red, one white. She turned back to face whoever it was but no-one was there. A sudden blast blinded her back to darkness, only to find something on her face....that damn white cloth, symbolizing death. What the hell? she thought. "Why is a cloth over my face? It's not even a wet warm one" she muffled. Ruby quickly ran to the bedside and removed the cloth. Ashleigh's eyes fluttered before opened. "ARG! My eyes!" she said, blocking the sun raise. "Yugi! It worked. The spell worked" Ruby exclamed. Yugi lifted his head, then got up, raced to the bed and kissed his wife. Then he removed the chocker, successfuly this time. Ashleigh blinked. "I haven't seen you move that fast since you heard Hamburgers was now on the menu at school" she said, then giggled. |
Yugi laughed. "I'm just glad that you're ok. The spell worked!" He hugged her. "And now, as far as Kaimiri knows, you're dead, so he won't come after your shard."
"That was quick." Crow said. |
"That was the quickest return I ever seen" Ruby said, "very impressive. Usually, the person doesn't return until 1 hour has passed."
"You tell me" Rua said. Dark Ashleigh opened her eyes. Something was wrong, she could feel it. She headed to Kaimiri's room after someone said that he summoned her. When she was at the front of the door, she knocked. |
"And it's been only, what, twenty minutes?" Yugi asked. "Either way, I'm glad you're all right, and safe."
"I'll say." Ruka replied. "By the way, Rua, where's this influx of brains come from?" "What I'm wondering is why you were spazzing like Rua." Jack asked. Ruka giggled nervously and scratched the back of her neck. "Enter." Kaimiri said. "Something wrong?" He didn't wait for a reply. He pointed to the shattered armband of the control device. "It's shattered. I believe we both know what that means." |
"I know that, but something's really fishy about this" Dark Ashleigh said.
"I knew you were playing copycat!" Rua exclaimed. "I hope that spell work" Ashleigh said, then remembered. "I got two things to say" she said, one of them, confurming on what Yugi saw. |
"Really?" Kaimiri asked. "How so? From the looks of this, I'd have to say that you felt your light half die."
"Sure you did...." Ruka deadpanned. "I already know that you're an Arch Angel." Yugi said. "But what's the second?" |
"I know, but something felt odd about it, it's not a natual death nor a murder" Dark Ashleigh replied.
"Well, we all know you were not acting like yourself" Rua resorted. "I have a monster ka now" Ashleigh said. |
"You do?!" Yugi asked in surprise. "What is it?"
"Hm..." Kaimiri hummed. This confirms my suspicioins. He thought. This armband shouldn't have shattered. Not if it was something normal. Ruka glared at her twin. "Neither were you." She replied. |
"Soul of Purity and Light" Ashleigh replied.
"But you can't have the good with the bad. The essence of the stone was absorbed into the body. When that happens, it's less effective and you only turn into your dark form about 4 more times" Ruby said. "It has to be a death spell. But it's one of two kinds. One kind is temporary, and another is permanent. But which one?" Ashleigh asked. "I was too! You can't admit it!" Rua resorted. |
"Wait--so you're saying that Ashleigh's still going to change into a dark angel?" Yugi asked. "If that's the case, then is there a way to make sure that she doesn't go evil every time?"
"That will be the hard part." Kaimiri replied. "From what I've learned over the millennia, it's nearly impossible to tell one from the other." "Rua, we all know that about the only time you have brain blasts is when you're dueling." Ruka replied. |
Ruby thought.
"There is one way we can stop it is that we seperate her and the dark angel but that hold a bigger risk than the spell you cast. It's a huge pertentage, about 90% doesn't survive the seperaton" she said, "and I'm not willing to do that." "Yeah, but I have a hunch that she's still alive out there" Dark Ashleigh said, "But I rather wait till you heal to find it out. Because when you return, you will have her shard." "Says the one who wanted to play copycat" Rua snapped back. "Guys, guys. The main point is that Ashleigh's back. But we have 3 weeks to spend time with her before she's gone for good' Aki said. |
Yugi hugged Ashleigh's shoulders. "Me neither," he replied.
Kaimiri nodded. "That I will." He said. "How do you figure that?" Ruka asked. "When Kaiba used the spell he did, he ended up blowing off his arm, as well as blowing up Kaimiri." Aoi replied. "He's essentialy bought us another month to prepare." |
"And I don't want to go through that again untill 3 weeks has gone by. We don't know if Yusei will return" Ashleigh said.
"Get some rest while I figure out which spell was used" Dark Ashleigh said and got up only to have her arm cuffed with Kaimiri's good hand. "Wow, that's brillant" Aka exclamed. |
Aoi nodded in agreement. "Now we've just got to wait for Yusei to come back to us." She said.
"I know," Yugi replied. "I hope he makes it...we're going to need his power for the last battle." "No," Kaimiri said. "Stay. There's something that I want to tell you." |
"Which is going to be a long 4 days" Aki said.
Ashleigh nodded. "Then how can my angel powers work through all this?" she asked. "What is it?" Dark Ashleigh asked. |
"You got that right." Crow said. "Try not to have an emotional breakdown, ok?"
"I...." Kaimiri started, then he released her arm. "Never mind..." |
"I try" Aki said.
"No, what is it?" Dark Ashleigh asked, sitting back down. |
At that same moment. Kiryu's phone went off.
"What was that?" Crow asked. "Er..." Kiryu said. "Excuse me for a sec..." with that he left the room as he answered his phone. "Jack, you thinking what I'm thinking?" Crow asked. "If you mean Kiryu has a girlfriend, then yes." Jack replied. Crow grinned. "You aren't going to listen to me telling you to leave, will you?" |
"I wonder who it is?" Rua asked.
"Careful with your mouth Rua" Aki said. "No....not when you have something to say" Dark Ashleigh replied. |
"Please," Ruka added. "Crow, I get the feeling that look on your face means you're getting a bad idea."
"Of course not..." Crow replied. "Yep, he's got a bad idea." "Fine," Kaimiri sighed. "Well...if anything..." He fidgeted and looked away. Don't. Blush. |
"This is going to be a very long couple of days" Aki said, then sighed.
"Anything what?" Dark Ashleigh asked. |
"I agree," Ruka said. She looked to Aki. "You're still worried that Yusei won't come back, aren't you?"
May as well. Kaimiri thought. "I....am in love with you." He said hesitantly. |
