In 20 minutes time, the room was magic proofed, the twins arrived with more than they need, and the future was moved and the group was in the middle.
"Before we begin, you must promise that you won't use your powers for anything but for self defense and defeating evil" Ruby said. "I promise" Rua said. |
"I promise," Ruka said. I can't believe this! I'm finally becoming a mage!
"I'd better get back to training," Jack said. "Same here," Kiryu added. "I'll stay here with Aki," Aoi said. "Good luck you guys." Jack made a face. "With Melhana, I'm going to need all the luck I can get..." He grumbled as he left the room. |
"What about me?" Yana asked.
"That's a mage promise. Fairies doesn't have to make that pleage" Ashleigh replied. "We will cover the basics of summoning and attacking. During the 3 weeks, you will be staying here and learning how to also block and dodging. Then you will be learning staff magic and ka summoning before advance training but Melhana will take care of that" Ruby said. "Thanks Aoi" Aki said just as Melhana entered the room to look for Jack. |
"You guys seen Jack anywhere? He's playing hooky with his training." Melhana asked.
Aoi laughed. "So that's what he was doing." She said. "He just left." She pointed in the direction. "Thanks." Melhana replied. "I'm gonna make that egotistical idiot do extra drills for this..." She grumbled as she left. Crow sweatdropped. "I'm really glad I'm not her apprentice," he said nervously. "That sounds so cool!" Ruka said. She giggled. "Er, sorry...I'm just a little excited." |
"Same here" Aki said.
"I know this is rushed and all but we have a lot to cover in a short period of time. Yugi will be popping in time to time though, and not just to check in with your progress, right Ashleigh?" Ruby asked. Ashleigh nodded. |
"I'll be checking in to make sure that Ashleigh's doing all right." Yugi said. "She had a dark angel relapse before I cast that spell, and I don't want any of you caught in the crossfire."
Crow stretched and put his hands behind his head. "So it looks like Jack's the first one to summon his ka." He said. "I wonder how long until the rest of us pull it off...." |
"Yugi, that was during the spell" Ruby said, "I was watching remember?"
"Don't know, don't care" Aki said, "I don't want to be a mage or whatever." |
Yugi nodded. "Yeah, I remember." He replied.
"Why's that?" Crow asked. |
"Anyway, Ashleigh needs protecting during this time and thats your mission" Ruby said.
"HEY! I resent that" Ashleigh resorted. "I don't think it's important for me to be a mage" Aki replied. |
"Ashleigh, no one's calling you weak." Yugi said. "It's just...If Kaimiri found out you were here..." He shifted his weight nervously.
"I actually think it's kind of cool, but I won't try and convince you to do something you don't want to." Crow said. "To each their own" |
"I know that" Ashleigh snapped.
"Try and tell that to Melhana" Aki said. |
"We're worried about you, Ashliegh. We all are." Yugi replied.
"She's still trying to convince you then, isn't she?" Crow asked. |
"I know, I know. It's just that in three weeks, I be passing on" she said.
"Yeah" Aki said, following a mumble of 'I heard that' from outside the door. |
"What's going on out there...?" Crow asked. He poked his head out the door. He saw Jack getting dragged by his ear down the hall. "Jack, what did you do?"
"Nothing!" Jack protested. "Shut up, idiot. You called me a maniac." Melhana replied. "If you want to see a maniac, keep pissing me off and playing hooky." "I know...." Yugi said, trailing off. |
"Whew! I thought she heard us" Aki said.
"But we better make the most of it" Ashleigh said. |
"Apparently her only issue right now is with Jack." Crow replied.
"I guess you're right," Yugi replied. |
"Yeah. When is Yugi going to come back?" Aki asked.
"I know we will win. I just know it" Ashleigh said. |
"He didn't say," Aoi replied. "I'm as confused as you are."
"Same here," Yugi replied. |
"Looks like late night training for you tonight Crow" Aki said.
"So shall we get started?" Ashleigh asked. |
Crow sighed. "Looks like it," he said.
Yugi nodded. "Yeah," he replied. |
"I leave the twins to you. Yana, come on. It's time to work on your new powers which came with your new form" Ashleigh said and both girls walked to a corner of the living room.
"Why not join us?" Aki asked. Just then, Melhana burst back in the room, and stopping infront of Aki. |
"I've still got that question for you," Melhana said. "I still say you should learn to harness that power in you, whether you intend on using it or not."
Yugi nodded and turned to the twins. "First order of buisness; activating your auras." He placed a hand on each of their foreheads. "Don't panic; this will make it easier to train you." He said. He closed his eyes and muttered the incantation used to activate their auras. Ruka looked at her hands as a soft pink mist swirled around her body. She looked to Rua and saw that his aura was pulsating around him as well. |
"I don't want to. I've been through enough" Aki said, standing up. A rose kind of scent picked up.
Rua looked at his hands and body. An aqua green mist swirled around him also. He looked at Ruka to see the soft pink mist swirling around them. "Sometimes your aura scent are the same colour as your aura like Yugi. His aura is an emerald green and the aura scent is the smell of a Pine tree. Sometimes, the scent and the aura colour is different" Ruby explained, "and I presume that I can smell Vanilla and marshmallows from your auras." |
"Aki...." Melhana said. Her aura's flaring. I can smell it. "At least basic training will be a great help. It'll help you prevent your power from going haywire. I should know..."
Ruka sniffed the air. "Rua, I think you're vanilla." She said. Yugi lowered his hands. "That's....weird. You're both Signers." |
"I don't care. I don't want any training" Aki yelled and a wind came out of nowhere intertwined with rose petals picked up.
"Jack's a Signer too And he's training to be a mage" Rua replied. |
