Max stood up and walked over to the girl, and drew her into a hug. "I don't know, girl." She replied.

"I just want this all to be over" Ashleigh said, then cried into Max's shoulder.

"We all want this to be over." Max replied, stroking the back of Ashleigh's head in comfort.

"We all do Ashleigh. Keep in mid though, regardless on your decision, you will be still an Arch Angel in the end" Ruby said.
"I know" Ashleigh replied. |
"Was there anything else you wanted to tell me?" Max asked Ruby.
Kaimiri heard the door open. He whistled when he saw Dark Ashleigh in her new uniform. "You look charming," he said. |
"You just heard what I just said right?" ruby asked.
"Thanks sweety" Dark Ashleigh said, "should we tell your dad about us?" |
"Yes I heard," Max sighed. "I meant other than that."
"No, let's let him find out on his own." Kaimiri laughed. "Is that young man still in his quarters?" "Ow...." Yusei groaned, rubbing his shoulder. "That wall's hard...." |
"No, not right now" Ruby replied.
"Yeah, I'm sure he is" Dark Ashleigh replied. "I think that's enough for the day. In so little time, you learnt so much" Atem said. |
"Right," Yusei replied. "I've also managed to pull several muscles....."
"Then I'll go pay him a visit," Kaimiri said. "I'll be back before long, with a new ally." And with that he snapped, dissapearing to visit Jack. "Good," Max said. At the same moment, the doctor came out in his scrubs. "So?" "The operation was a success." The doctor said. "Mr. Kaiba's still under anasthesia, so it will be a bit before he wakes up. I'd wait until he's fully conscious before connecting the arm." |
"You overtaxed yourself, that's why. Don't be afraid to speak out if you want a break" Atem replied.
"Is that good?" Ruby asked. |
"Right," Yusei replied. He massaged his sore shoulder. "What time do you want me down here tomorrow?"
Jack looked up as he felt a new pressure. He jumped up from his bed and whirled around to face his visitor all in one fluid movement. "What're you doing here?" He demanded when he saw Kaimiri. Kaimiri smiled and spread his arms. "I'm only here to help you gain the power you seek." He said. "Don't deny it, you want to become stronger. I can see it in your eyes." "Very good," the doctor replied. "So far, it looks like we won't have to worry about any rejection of the arm." "It also means that Kaiba will be up to 100% in a matter of days, if not hours." Max added. |
"Same time" Atem replied.
"that's fantastic" Ruby exclaimed. |
He could tell I'm mad...that's just too weird. "What kind of power?" He asked.
"The kind of power that will allow you to surpass everyone." Kaimiri replied. "Your mentor. Atem. Seto Kaiba. Even your best friend, Yusei Fudo." "What?" Jack asked. "You're talking nonsense." "Am I?" Kaimiri replied. "I can see into your heart. You're feeling left out, aren't you? Everyone's making a big deal over Yusei, and throwing you to the side." Jack was silent for a few moments. "What do I have to do?" Yusei nodded and started towards the door, then stopped. "You feel that?" He asked. "It's like some kind of...heavy pressure." Max nodded. Here's hoping that his body doesn't reject the houseing or the arm. She thought. |
"Yeah. I wonder why?"Atem asked.
Suddenly, Ruby turned her head around. "Something's happening" she said. |
"Same here," Yusei said. "It feels like it's coming from Jack's quarters...."
"Can you tell what it is?" Max asked. |
Atem gasped.
"You go and check it out. I talk to Mel to see what's going on" he said. "No but I can sense it's black magic" Ruby replied. |
"Right," Yusei said, then ran out the door. Jack...Don't do anything rash.
"Then we'd better go check it out." Max said. "Can you sense where it's coming from?" "Leave here, and join forces with me." Kaimiri replied. |
Atem darted out of the room and straight to Melhana's quarters (he took the stairs), and banged on the door.
"Open up Melhana!" he yelled. "Wait! Somebody has to stay with Ashleigh" Ruby exclaimed. |
Melhana opened the door. She was wearing just a sport bra for her tank top. "What is it?" She asked.
"I'll stay here," Max said. "You go." |
"First off, finish getting change quick! I want to ask you something" Atem said.
This is awkard he thought Ruby nodded and threw off her cloak. "Ashleigh, keep your on and put on the hood. I be back" and with that, Ruby ran as fast as she can, tracing the black magic. |
"Right," Melhana said, grabbing a T-shirt and pulling it on. Right when I was about to shower too. "What'd you want to ask?"
I hope it's not what I think it is. Max thought. |
"What happened in training today?" Atem asked.
"What's going on?" Ashleigh asked. Ruby ran till she landed in front of Jack's door. Why does it lead to here? she thought. |
Melhana sighed and joined Atem in the hallway. She closed the door behind her and locked it. "I was trying to get him to summon his ka as part of his advanced training, and he went ballistic." She replied. "He stormed out of the dojo and went back to his quarters."
"Something is here in the HQ," Max replied. "And I don't know about you, but it's got me on edge too. Yusei got to the door at the same time Ruby did. "You felt it too, huh?" He asked. |
Atem sighed.
"You know that kas can't be summoned on command right?" he asked. "Yeah, but why here?" Ruby asked, then leaned her ear on the door. |
"Not without training, no," Melhana said. "I can summon mine on command, same with Yugi and Ryo." She shook her head. "Anyway...is this something about that dark aura I'm feeling?"
"You want me to...go to your side?" Jack asked. "Are you mental?" "Far from it," Kaimiri replied. "Like I said before; I can tell that you're feeling ignored." Jack balled his hands into fists at his sides. I hate to admit it...but I have been feeling a bit left out lately. Not to mention that Melhana's been working me to death these last few weeks. He thought. But still...this guy's telling me to abandon my friends! "That's Jack!" Yusei said. "And...Kaimiri? What's he doing talking to Jack?" |
