"She's our princess and we just found her" Lanchia said.
"Yeah, you aren't this pissed off" Atem agreed. |
"I've been trying to figure out a way to get these two home," she pointed to Astral and Yuma, "but I haven't got anything."
|
"You know they won't leave till Yuai is found" Atem sighed.
|
"Ugh...." Melhana groaned. "It still doesn't hurt to try, I guess...."
Just then the doctor came through the doors. "Master Uriel, we're ready to see what you can do for her," He said. "It might be best to bring Master Lanchia as well." |
"Mistress" Lanchia grumbled, "why is it that everyone thinks I'm a guy?"
"We should. I know that Marcia's working on a project, Saharia is doing her duties but Yuai's AWOL" Atem said, "and who's going to look after Yana?" |
"Because nobody here is used to having female arch angels around." Uriel replied. He followed the doctor to Ashleigh's room.
"I'm looking after her," Yugi said. "And that reminds me, what is the project Marcia's working on?" |
Lanchia followed.
"And it's a guys job to fix things? May I remind you that a female saved the world 3 years ago?" she grumbled. "Music for Yana's new album of course" Atem said, "reason why she didn't help out in the raid." |
"We know, Lanchia. Our doctor on the other hand does not." Uriel said calmly.
"In here," The doctor said, opening the door for them. "Right," Yugi replied. "It looks like that album's not getting done any time soon though..." |
There, hooked up with all sorts of machines, Ashleigh lay, just holding on.
"Poor girl" Lanchia said, "what happened to her?" "They're still working out the music and the lyrics before Yana comes in" Atem said, "Mel? Astral? Ready to find Yuai?" |
"We don't know." The doctor said. "We were hoping you and Master Uriel would be able to shed some light on it."
Melhana nodded. "I am," Astral said, "however Yuma is...asleep." And sure enough, the kid in question was fast asleep in the chair, complete with snoring. |
"So, I guess you're out of the search right?" Atem asked, then looking at Melhana.
"Please don't tell me you're wearing a SKIRT?!?!?!?!?!?" he exclaimed. Lanchia examined the girl, then nodded a strange looking ball in a glass jar. "You must detox the girl immediately. That ball's energy has gone through out her body and now is at a critical stage. Meaning that she could either turn or actually die" she said, "That ball must have got absorbed without her knowing. Lucky for us, it has been removed before it exploded. How long can you detox her body in the fastest time possible?" |
"Aw, shaddup. I'm wearing pants underneath it anyway!" Melhana replied.
"Six hours, if we start immediately." The doctor replied. Uriel nodded. "Do it." He said. "Is ther anything else you need to tell them, Lanchia?" |
"I'm a Mistress, not a Master" Lanchia said, "And don't let her die." And with that, she went to join Morgan.
"I'm saying that because I never seen you in a skirt before, let alone a dress" Atem sighed. |
"We will try our best, Mistress Lanchia." The doctor said. He turned to Uriel. "I did not tell her this, but there is a chance that Ashleigh will die in the detox process, Master Uriel."
"How much of a chance?" Uriel asked. The doctor thought for a second, doing the calculation in his head. "About 50%." He replied. "You say that like it's a bad thing." Melhana said. |
Lanchia sat in the chair next to Morgan.
"Ashleigh's not doing so well" she said. "Well, lets go and find Yuai. Jonouchi is getting annoyed about Yuma still being here" Atem said, "No offense Astral. He takes his role really seriously." |
"What do you mean?" Morgan asked, her brow creasing in concern.
"Role? As what?" Astral asked. "As resident idiot." Melhana replied. "I have no idea where he got the idea that being a bonehead was a good thing...." |
"Ashleigh has dark energy in her body and she's going under a detox right now" Lanchia replied as Gabriel joined them.
"You got that right" Atem sighed. |
"She has a 50% chance of surviving the detox," Gabriel said. "I left as the doctor told Uriel the chances."
"You are speaking as if Jonouchi enjoys being the idiot," Astral said. "I don't see how that is possible." "It is," Melhana groaned. "And that's how Jonouchi's brain works. Don't ask me why, because I don't live in his head. Nor do I want to." |
"She WHAT?" Lanchia gasped, "So there is a chance that we might loose the princess after all."
"Come on Mel, lets go" Atem said, leaving the room. |
"I just hope that doesn't happen," Gabriel said.
"Right," Melhana said, following. |
"I hope so too" Lanchia replied.
3 hours went by and Ashleigh couldn't hold on anymore. She finally let go, tears streaming down her face on the surface, the doctors not knowing what has happened. I'm sorry everyone she thought. |
"No! She's dying!" The doctor shouted. "We can't let her die, we can't!"
At the same time, Melhana froze. "Ashleigh's gone..." She said quietly. |
It was very calm where Ashleigh lay. She knew it was truly the end for her. She can hear her name calling out but it was too far away to hear.
"Say what? You must be joking" Atem exclaimed. |
Melhana shook her head. "Feel your dogtags. They should be like ice."
|
Atem felt his dogtags.
"You're right" he replied, "but how can that be? When somebody's pass on, you can't feel their energy at all." "Ashleigh. Ashleigh! Open your eyes" the voice grew stronger and louder. "Who's there?" she asked. |
