"At least she will be ok now" Atem said as colour came back to Yugi's eyes, "I'm sure of it."
Ashleigh groaned in pain as the energy source faded away from her body, but yet, something wasn't quite right about this and couldn't put her finger on it. |
Yugi got up slowly. "You're right about that," he replied. "I made sure of it."
"You back with us?" The doctor asked. |
"How did you do that?" Atem asked, confused.
Ashleigh groaned again, wincing in pain. What the pain was, she didn't know. |
"In all honesty, I have no idea." Yugi replied. "I just...felt that Ashleigh needed me."
"She's back all right," the doctor said. "What you're feeling is probably the detox. Some of the dark energy is still in you and we've been trying to get it out." |
"That is weird" Atem said, "very weird indeed"
Ashleigh winced in pain again. "It hurts" she groaned. |
"I'll say," Melhana said. "So, what happened anyway?"
"Ashleigh...'died' in the angelic plane." Yugi replied. "I gave her the strength to get back." "Lie still," the doctor replied. "Do you think you're strong enough to get through the rest of the detox?" |
"And how did you do that" Atem asked very curiously.
Ashleigh screamed in pain before falling into a peaceful sleep. With that scream, made Uriel and Lanchia ran back to the room. "What's going on? We both heard a scream from in here" Lanchia said, then noticing the girl sleeping. |
"I gave her a piece of my life force. She wasn't strong enough on her own to keep from passing completely, so...." Yugi trailed off.
Melhana was gaping at him. "Don't you realize that could shorten your life?!" She blurted out finally. "I know," Yugi replied. "It'll be worth it, though, and I didn't shave off years!" "Then how much did you shave off?" Melhana asked. "Uh....I don't know..." Yugi said. Melhana whacked him over the head. "She yelled before she fell asleep," The doctor replied. "We lost her for a moment...but then for whatever reason, she revived. I...I don't know what happened." |
"You know that it can make you very ill?" Atem snapped, "I don't care if it's for Ashleigh or not, you should've kept your health under condideration first!"
"That is strange. Has this happened before?" Lanchia asked. |
"And you wouldn't have done the same for Mana?!" Yugi reply just as sharply. Atem hesitated. "You've got a crush on her. I can tell, Mou Hitori no Boku."
The doctor shook his head. "No, it hasn't." "She must have someone who cares deeply about her to help her back," Uriel said. |
Atem turned away blushing.
"Good point" he said. "Well, this is a first" Lanchia said, "a total first." |
"Well, now that we've established that Atem's got the hots for Mana," Melhana said, earning a glare from Atem. She ignored it. "We'll find out if it had any unwanted effects on you in the next day or so."
"Agreed," Uriel said. "Do you think you will be able to continue the detox?" The doctor scratched the back of his neck. "Maybe, maybe not. It depends on her strength at the moment." |
"Can we just go and find Yuai now?" Atem asked.
"Well, check" Lanchia demanded, "We can't loose her under all costs!" |
Melhana nodded, though the sparkle in her eyes siad that she wasn't done teasing Atem about his crush. "Any ideas where to start?"

"I suggest the town centre then work from there" Atem replied.

"Sounds like a start," Yugi said.
"Then let's get going," Melhana said. "I'll bring my motorcycle so we've got some transportation." |
"Thanks" Atem said, "Yugi, you still going to stay here to keep an eye on Yana right?"
After checking over Ashleigh, it was decided to hold off the detox, in case they loose Ashleigh again, for good this time. "She's really weak" Lanchia said, "I know it's a huge risk but, can we have someone to come over from the human plane? I have someone in mind." |
Yugi nodded. "Yeah, I am." He replied. "I was heading to her room when I blacked out."
"Who are you thinking of, then?" Uriel asked. "I have a few possible people in mind as well." |
"Which was REALLY weird that you done so" Atem said.
"Well, who are they?" Lanchia asked. |
"I think you've made the point." Melhana said.
"Yeah, I know it." Yugi said when he reached the room Yana was in. "I'll stay here and keep an eye on Yana while you guys look for Yuai." "Yugi Mutou and Selena Kuro." Uriel replied. "I have my doubts about Selena Kuro though." |
"Thanks" Atem said, "Melhana, let's go."
"I was thinking Selena at first but I came across an incident that if Amelia didn't push her out of Ashleigh's mind, it would go ugly. And since Ashleigh still have some dark energy inside of her, it won't go down well. So I thought to myself, who, out of the group, is much closer to Ashleigh that is immune to her power outbursts?" Lanchia said. |
"No problem," Yugi replied. "Let's just hope you guys find her."
"Same here," Melhana said. "C'mon, let's get looking." Uriel nodded. "Yugi Mutou." he said. "You do realize how much of a risk it will be to bring him here?" |
Atem nodded and walked with Melhana to go and look for Yuai.
"I know, but there is another reason why she collasped" Lanchia said, "she's homesick." |
When they were at the garage, she handed her spare helmet to Atem. "I hope you don't mind me being a lead foot," She said, smiling.
"It must be extreme for her body to have the reaction it is," Uriel said. |
"I don't mind" Atem said as he put on the hemlet.
"Yes. But going through 3 years of training already without showing it can overtax someone big time" Lanchia agreed. |
