As the music started, Yugi swept her up in a slow waltz-ish dance. Now to see if I can avoid her feet this time... he thought, remembering the last time they'd danced.

Ashleigh snuggled into Yugi's chest and closed her eyes. She felt his hands on her back.
"I missed this" she whispered.

"You and me both," Yugi whispered back. He ran a hand through her hair. "Remember the dance at our wedding? The one back home, that is."

"You keep stepping on my feet" Ashleigh replied, "I had to teach you how to dance before Michelle did." Yana looked at Uriel.
"I guess I have to do that when I become Queen right grandfather?" she asked. She didn't dare to call him grandpa.

Uriel nodded. "Yes," he replied. "As for when you will succeed your mother, that is not known. We've been without a Queen or a King for the last 10,000 years."

Yugi laughed. "Yeah, and I couldn't stop apologizing about it." He said. "At least now I'm not stepping all over your feet."

"Do you know who's going to be the prince?" Yana asked.

"Yeah" Ashleigh agreed, "We should be never be apart again."

A few days past and still no sign of either Yugi or Yana, and Atem was getting worried.
"I hope they come back soon" he said, "soon we have to go present shopping."

Selena nodded. "And Melhana's been going nuts." She replied. "She's got her dress done for the most part, as well as the rest of the brides maids...except for Ashleigh."

"Does she have a back-up plan if Ashleigh chooses to stay?" Atem asked.

The next day, The trio and Jibril was in departures.
"So, I see you at the end of the human week then" Ashleigh said.
"Yeah, we will mum" Yana replied and the three hugged. Jibril hugged her daughter as they saw the two off.
"Come" she said, your father and I need to speak to you about something. About how the Choice works."

"You'd have to ask her that." Selena replied. "If she does, she hasn't told me."

Yugi kissed Ashleigh on the cheek. "Melhana's been going nuts you know." He said. "See you at the end of the week, our time." And with that, he left for the human plane again, looking forward to seeing Ashleigh back home.

A few minutes later, Jirbril and Ashleigh was in the garden with Uriel.
"So, what do you want to tell me about the Choice Papa?" Ashleigh asked.

"I never seen Mel so stressed. I think she's gone Bridezilla on us" Atem sighed.

"The Choice is irreversible." Uriel replied. "There is no way to make a different one. And when you make your Choice, it will show where your heart and soul belong."

Selena laughed. "Mell and Bridezilla...those are two words I never thought I'd hear in the same sentance." She said. "And I'm pretty sure she's on her period too, which is only making it worse. Bakura's even avoiding her."

"True" Atem said, "It is that time of month for her anyway." This was followed by a glomp from Yana.
"We're back" she said.

"I see. But what happened yesterday really made it harder to choose, because of my about to become my new role" Ashleigh said.

"Got that right," Selena said. "Welcome back, guys!"

"Good to be back," Yugi replied. "Ashleigh's going to be back by the end of the week...hopefully."

"You will still be considered the Queen of Eternity even if you are among the living." Uriel replied. "Your coronation will be held before you return, however. Once you make your Choice."

"Yeah. Soon we be a family again" Yana said, "at last. Then we can have the victory party you guys have been planning for MONTHS."
"Ow, that was my ear" Atem said.

"I see" Ashleigh replied.
"So, come my daughter. We will show where you live for now on here" Jibril replied, her and Uriel standing up in usion.

Selena smiled. "It'll be nice to see her again." She said. Even though she'll try to kill my ass.

Uriel led them down the corridor. "You will be staying in the same dormitories as your mother." He said. "And I."

"You got that right. I was suppose to be at the wedding but I was so nacked, I didn't go" Atem replied, "and I presume that it was different from your first Yugi?"

"Wait, is this where the high authorities live?" Ashleigh asked, "I thought we're going to the part where the arches live."

"Very." Yugi replied. "The minister bonded our auras to each other. According to what he said, we'll be able to sense each other no matter what."

"The Queen and her Court live in the High authorities dormitories. I am able to have my quarters here because of who I...well..." Uriel replied.

"Even if she stayed in the angelic plane?" Atem asked, concerned that now there's a chance that she be staying there, "because when the Choice is made, there's no turing back."

"Let me guess, you represent all angels in the angelic plane" Ashleigh replied.

"Yeah, even then." Yugi replied. "I'm still hoping she chooses to stay here with us. I know it's a little selfish, but...."

Uriel nodded. "This is your room during your time here, Malenkia." He said, opening the door for her. The living area of the apartment had a vaulted ceiling painted deep, dark purple with gold molding around the edges. A chandalier-style light hung from the center. The walls were painted laventer with gold stripes down the corners. The windowframes were painted gold as well, with royal purple curtains with gold edging and sparkles. The carpet was a dark purple and gold checkerboard design, a dark mahogany coffee table, mauve comfy chairs, a couch to match the color of the curtains, and a crackling fireplace in the opposite wall that had a merrily crackling fire.

"This....is for me?" Ashleigh asked, surprised.

"I know" Atem replied, "We all hope that she chooses family over role."

"Yes, it is." Uriel replied.

---

"And friends." Selena added.

A week went by. Ashleigh learnt everything about being a part of royal society, as well as taming her new powers. Now, she has to make the important decision of her life: Go into her new role or home. At the end of her last month, she stood in front of Uriel and the arch angels.
This is it. There is no turning back she thought.

"Now," Uriel began, "it is time for the Choice. Which is your path? To stay with the angels, or go back to the world of life?"

"I thought about it a lot lately" Ashleigh said, "and the path I choose the World of Life. I have so much there, I'm not ready to give up everything, including my fairy powers."

"So be it," Uriel said. "This evening, at dusk, will be your coronation. Then, you will return to the world of life."
