Ashleigh landed in the snow hard. She kneeled and touched her smarting cheek. "What did you do that for?' she demanded. |
"Good luck with doing that now." Yugi said.
"To snap you back to reality, that's why." Selena replied. "Why don't you get it? We weren't EXPECTING you to be the same as when you got back. None of use are the same as ten years ago. Yugi's not. Jonouchi's not. Kaiba's not. I'm not. Even you've changed since ten years ago. So what, you're different now that you're back. Do you really think we all care about that?" |
"Yeah. Maybe it was wise to leave her till tomorrow" Atem sighed.
"So? What does that matter now?" Ashleigh snarled, "You ruined it for me with your big mouth." |
"Yeah, because I ruin everything." Selena said. "Look, I don't want to have to drag you back by the ear, because Atem made me apologize to you." She tapped her eyepatch absently. "And how many times do I have to tell you? We're still your friends, not matter how much you change."

"Malenkia! Stop it" a voice cried, "You have no control over me, or my family and friends." "So what?" 'It's my body and my powers. You're not going to ruin my second chance here. You are a part of me, but you are not going to take over my life!" And with that Ashleigh rose. "You're not taking over until I die. I have too much to give up here." Then she turned and hugged Selena. "I'm truly sorry about that" she whispered, "now you know why I needed the space so that won't happen." |
"Who was that?" Selena asked. "She's got the same aura as you...."

"Malenkia" Ashleigh replied, and broke off the hug, "so, you want to head back?"

Selena raised an eyebrow. "So now you want to be around the others?" she asked. "Sounds good to me."

"Yep. Malenkia took over before I gotten a chance to get ready" Ashleigh replied, "now since she's put in her place, let's go!"

Selena nodded and the two girls set off for the HQ again.

After awhile, and aftr a massive glomp from the group, Ashleigh sat down with a nice hot chocolate, feeling greatful for making the right choice.

Yugi sat down next to her. "Good to see that you're back," he said.
"Hey! Look who it is! Mr. Moneybags!" Honda said as Kaiba and Mokuba entered the room. "Can it, Honda. I'm only here because Mokuba wouldn't stop bothering me about it." Kaiba replied grumpily. Selena snickered. "And you might want to go easy on him, Honda; he just had Jonouchi and Judai fall on top of him, along with a bunch of decorations." |
Ashleigh just nodded as she took another sip.
I have to keep my Alantian side at bay so no-one gets hurt she thought, she nearly killed Selena. |
"So, you going to go nuts on us again?" Yugi asked.

Ashleigh shook head, and placed her hand on her cheek.
"I just don't want anyone else to get hurt" she said. |
"I know, neither do I." Yugi said. "What's wrong with your cheek?"

"Selena punched me to have a reality check" Ashleigh replied, then placed her head on Yugi's lap.

Yugi blinked. "She WHAT?!" He asked.

"Don't worry about it" Ashleigh said, "and I needed it too."

"Okay...." Yugi said. He petted Ashleigh's head. "So...do you think Malenkia is going to come out again?"

"I don't know, but hopefully, not for a long time" Ashleigh replied as the original gang joined them.

"So, we're all back." Jonouchi said. "And the creepy nutjob is gone."

"Not for 5000 years at least" Ashleigh agreed, "and he's the worst."

Melhana came over and sat down next to Bakura. "Why do you say that? What happens in 5000 years?"

"Kaimiri's not dead" Ashleigh replied, "he's in a cell in the prison in the dark angelic plane, paying for what he did. Uriel wanted him to suffer for what Kaimiri did to him."
