"Hey, Adeline." Matthew smiled warmly as he returned her hug kindly before moving back to put his arm around Leane. "How's your ankle?"

"Better, thanks to you." Adeline said cheerfully. "I'll see you around the castle, kay?" She asked having seen her friends wave to her. "Bye." She said cheerfully before turning and leaving.

Leane screeched through gritted teeth as she turned and stormed off, her hair crackling as tears streaked her cheeks.

Putting her wand away, Leane glared at Matt, not noticing his tear through her own tears, "How can I believe you when you look at her like that?! When you look at her like you regret ditching her and wish you could have had more time with her?!"

Turning back to the castle, Leane started running again, not wanting to hear his answer. When she reached the start of the stone stairs that led to the stone path that replaced the dirt they were currently traveling on, Leane slipped on the stairs and fell. Staying where she fell, Leane just sat there and cried as she crossed her arms on the step and rested her eyes upon her arms, her back turned to the dirt path.

Ignoring the scrapes on her legs and knees, not to mention her thighs, and hoping Matt would just ignore her and go so he didn't have to see her crying so much, Leane just sat there on the steps and let the ears fall from her eyes.
