Leane looked up at Matt hopelessly, "Matt.. Are you sure? Are you sure you don't want her? You looked like you did outside the shop. And I'm sure if you went back now and asked for her, she's snap you up in a heartbeat and kiss you like she wanted to before. How am I to know you want me and not her after the look you gave her?"

"Lee." Matthew chided as he wiped away her tears. "I was being polite. It was nothing more than that." He promised as he rested his forehead against her's. "I love you." He whispered softly before giving her a soft kiss. "Just you." He promised, running his fingers through her hair.

"Promise?" Leane whispered as she rested her forehead against his and tried her best to stop crying. "Promise me you don't have strong feelings for her and don't want her more than me.. please.. I know it sounds stupid, but I need to hear it from your lips.."

"I promise, Leane. I promise that I don't want Adeline and that I'm completely and totally in love with you." He said softly as he brushed her cheek before leaning towards Leane's lips, leaving less then an inch between them. "Forgive me?" He asked quietly.

Leane nodded as she whispered softly against his lips, "All is forgiven." Turning to sit on the step, Leane wrapped her arms around Matt's neck and pulled him in for a long, tender kiss. "I'm sorry I doubted you," she whispered between kisses.

"Its alright, love." Matthew promised as he tangled one of his hands in her hair and returned her kisses eagerly. "I love you." He said softly between kisses, one of his hands on her lower back as he pressed her tighter against him.

Leane shook her head as she hugged him and rested her head against his as she whispered, "But you shouldn't.. I've been cruel, I've been vile, I've acted jealously, and I haven't done anything to deserve your love. If anything, all I've done is act foolishly and mistrust you whenever I see girls hang all over you like that wretched Ravvie.."

Matthew smiled as he pulled Leane onto his lap and wrapped his arms tight around her waist. "I would've acted just as jealous if I saw you with another boy. I mean, I probably wouldn't have been as angry and stormed off but I would've been far from happy." Matthew smiled, pausing to give her a kiss. "I love you, Leane. We've been best friends for six years. I know you better then to think poorly of you over your reaction to Adeline." He assured her, caressing her side with his thumb.

Grimacing as she bent her knees, the cuts, which had dirt in them now, bringing tears back to her eyes, Leane forced the tears back as he smiled at Matt and caressed his cheek with her palm, "I'm sorry I always act upon impulse. It's a bad habit really.. Perhaps you'll break me of it one day. Thank you for not hating me and thinking poorly of me," she whispered against his lips as she began kissing him once more, "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Lee." Matthew whispered against her lips before looking down at her legs. "Let me take you to the hospital wing." He said as he stood up with one arm around her back and the other under her knees.

Carrying her through the corridors, Matthew paused occasionally to give her kisses as he walked towards the hospital wing.

Grimacing as she bent her knees, the cuts, which had dirt in them now, bringing tears back to her eyes, Leane forced the tears back as he smiled at Matt and caressed his cheek with her palm, "I'm sorry I always act upon impulse. It's a bad habit really.. Perhaps you'll break me of it one day. Thank you for not hating me and thinking poorly of me," she whispered against his lips as she began kissing him once more, "I love you so much."

"Lee, come on." Matthew willed her as he took her in his arms. "We'll just tell her that you lost your balance. Please? I don't want you hurting." Matthew sighed, giving her forehead a quick kiss.

"Matt, I'm fine, really. If I see that I need stitches I'll let you take me. But for now, can I just clean up in the Prefect's bathroom? I don't want her seeing me like this.. She'll know something's up and won't let it rest until she knows what it is. I've been hurt worse than this and haven't cried, nor have I ever fallen while wearing heels," Leane added with a soft laugh before placing a long, tender kiss upon his lips. "So can we please, for now, just go to the tub and clean up?" she almost pleaded as she took his hands and started leading him towards the Prefect's Bathroom.

It wasn't that she was afraid of how deep the cuts were, nor how horrible they looked, she'd had worse after all. It was more the fact that she knew it was going to hurt like crazy trying to clean them out, and she didn't want Pomfrey doing it. She's rather create the pain herself rather than have Pomfrey create it for her.

"Alright." Matthew sighed as he put his arms around Leane's waist to bring her to the Prefects' Bathroom, knowing that arguing would never work.

Matthew pulled out his wand to make a washcloth and soap appear on the side of the Prefects' sink before leading Leane over. "Do you want to take those off?" Matthew asked as he nodded to her heels before running the water under the cloth and adding soap to it.

"Yeah, I'd probably better. They got dirt in them when I fell," said Leane through gritted teeth as she hopped up onto the counter, "Remind me never to fight with you when I'm in heels and am going up stone steps, alright?" she said softly with a laugh as she pulled off her shoes and set them on the counter beside her. Taking the cloth from Matt, Leane asked softly as she pointed to a stool under another sink, "Can you suspend that stool in the air so I have something to rest my foot on please?"

Matthew smiled as he put a kiss on her temple before moving to her shoes to move them farther down the counter. Matthew pulled out his wand and levitated the stool underneath Leane's feet. "There you go, love. And perhaps the next time your wearing heels and going up stone steps that I'd never do anything to hurt you." Matthew laughed softly.

Setting the washcloth on her left thigh for the moment, the one that that wasn't too beat up compared to the other, and wrapped her arms around Matt's neck as she leaned forward. Placing a long, deep, soft tender kiss upon his lips, Leane whispered softly, "I'm sorry Matt.. I shouldn't have let her get to me.. Please forgive me.."

Matthew smiled against her lips as he put his arms around her waist. "You're forgiven." He whispered softly before giving her another kiss. "But you have to promise me that you won't let someone else make you doubt my feelings for you. I'm so in love with you, Lee. And I just wish you could see that." Matthew said softly as he cupped her cheek in his palm.

Leaning into his palm, Leane nodded as her hands lightly clutched the front hem of his shirt, "I promise. It's just.. she's so beautiful, so perfect compared to my quirky Gothic look. I mean, I love it, but.. I'm not like the other girls so I'd understand if you thought them better and were more attracted to them.. I mean, you were dating them before.. And Adeline is quite pretty..."

Shaking her head, Leane blushed, "Sorry.. I did it again didn't I.. But anyway, I promise I'll never doubt you," she promised with a tender kiss. "And I do see it.. I just worry I'll lose you and you'll realize that you deserve far better than me."

"That's nonsense." Matthew smiled warmly as he pressed his lips against her forehead before moving to her legs. "This is going to hurt, Lee. But don't curse me or anything alright?" He laughed, only half kidding, as he picked up the washcloth and pressed it gently against her leg.

Wincing Leane pulled her leg away, causing her to grimace even more. "Here, let me scrub the dirt out of them," she whispered through gritted teeth as the soap stung her open cuts. Taking the cloth. Leane put her feet back onto the stool and scrubbed her foot first. Rinsing it and reapplying the soap, Leane scrubbed at her leg for about five seconds then rinsed it quickly with cold water as she clenched her jaw. Taking deep breaths, Leane handed the cloth back to Matt as she put her foot back onto the stool.

Matthew smiled warmly as he cupped the back of Leane's head and brought their lips together. "Its alright." He assured her before producing bandages and healing ointment.

Matthew applied the ointment and bandages before returning to Leane's side. "Any better?" He asked as his fingers trailed lightly over her bandages, not wanting to press enough to hurt her.

"Much better," Leane nodded as she quickly washed her other foot and leg before drying it. Gently slipping down from the counter, Leane leaned against Matt and wrapped her arms around his neck. Placing a long, tender kiss upon his lips, Leane smiled, "Thank you for taking care of me, I appreciate it."

"Of course, Lee." Matthew smiled as he returned her kisses eagerly. "I couldn't just leave you injured on the steps." He laughed quietly as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "I love you." He whispered softly against her lips before giving Leane a tender kiss.

"I love you too," Leane murmured softly as she eagerly returned his kisses, her hand sliding into his hair as she stood on her toes to deepen the kiss, ignoring the pain in her leg from stretching the skin.
