Belle got back a short while later and glanced around. "Well, everyone ready to go? And can I get my eggs back Lien?" She stopped a few feet away from the dragon, not wanting to intrude or piss of the lare reptile.

Lien hesitated for a moment, deciding whether or not she should let Belle near her own egg, but nodded.

"Hurry up," she said.

"Five seconds," Belle promised. She jogged over, took her pack with her two eggs and backed off quickly, like Lien ordered. "Thanks Lien!"

Andy was actually kind of impressed. She hadn't thought Lien was quite so comfortable around people, but apparently she was. Once Belle had her fire lizard eggs, Andy checked to make sure her own bag was packed.

"Ready to go when you are," she said.

"Yup. Let's go." Belle grinned, handing off the eggs to Lucifer to hold. He carried them easily, his wings resettling against his back. Belle started walking, carrying her own pack easily.

"So where are we headed?" Andy asked as they walked. "Anywhere in particular?"

"Over to the city, I thought," Belle said. "To get the software and hardware updates and things." She shrugged. "If you want to head somewhere else that's fine with me."

"Over to the city is fine with me," Andy replied. "I just didn't know if you wanted to stop anywhere else on the way." She grinned. "I'm so looking forward to a hardware upgrade. This is the same gear I was given as a newbie."

"Yeah, same here. It'll be interesting, at the very least." She grinned. "And probably more reliable. Although I haven't had many problems with mine so far."

"I haven't had any problems, either," Andy said. "But it would be nice to have a newer model." She grinned. "I have to admit I was a little jealous when I saw the newer models. They're just so pretty."

"They are thinner with bigger screens," Belle said. "I've been toying with the idea of getting a new one for a while, but I haven't gotten around to it."

"I'm not wondering if they're ever going to get around to the kind of technology they have in Avatar," Andy mused. "You know, the transparent holo-screens that are completely touch-activated. Those are cool."

"Oh I'm sure they will. I mean a lor of sci-fi things have similar technology, so I'm sure it'll come out sooner or later." Belle shrugged. In her mind it was all just a matter of time.

Andy grinned.

"That would be awesome," she said. "I would get an upgrade right then if they came out with something like that."

"Well, soon as they do we'll head into town." Belle grinned.

"And if you want to stop and get food at any point, say so. Otherwise it'll take us until about mid-afternoon to get there."

"I'm good for now," Andy replied. "Mid-afternoon is fine with me."

"Alright, that works." Belle grinned as she walked along, occasionally glancing back at the dragons. At least they weren't being snippy.

Andy was glad her dragons weren't being snippy yet. They were being overbearing and protective, but at least they were keeping it between each other.

By the time they got to town, Belle was rather amused with how protective Lucifer was becoming. She knew he'd been a father, but this was still great. He'd refused to let anyone else carry the eggs but him and Belle. She considered letting him bond with one, but she wasn't sure how well that would work out.

She showed her dex to the guard at the gate and headed inside. They'd be able to get in and get the upgrades without going more than even two miles, so the dragons had some room, luckily.

Andy told her dragons not to go anywhere, at all, and then followed Belle. She was still a little nervous about leaving them, but gradually relaxed a bit when nothing happened.

Belle figured the dragons would be fine. After all, someone had to be really stupid to try to do anything to them, or try to steal their egg. And if someone approached to talk, well, she figured unfriendliness would drive the person off. So she wasn't worried.

She found a place quickly for them to get their updates and handed over her dex for the woman to take a look at and to do whatever updates to. Hey, she'd get it back. Eventually.

Andy handed over her dex and gear as well. She felt a little 'lost' without them, but she knew she'd get it back soon, and get it back better than before.

"So, how should we kill time while our gear is being upgraded and updated?" she asked Belle.

"This a pretty good-sized little city here," Belle said, glancing around. "We could go do some shopping if you'd like. We both need to refill our chocolate stashes and we could go browse."

Glancing down at her jeans, she decided it was about time to get another pair or two. These ones were starting to wear through. Her boots were okay so far, though, luckily. And maybe she'd get a staff so she could whack people with it.

Okay, maybe not, but it was fun to think about. And maybe she would be crazy enough to do it anyway...

"Sounds like a plan to me," Andy replied. She definitely needed more chocolate, and a new pair of boots wouldn't hurt. And jeans. Jeans would be nice, too. "Let's go look around, then. There has to be something close-by."

"Oh I'm sure." Belle left the store, heading towards a sstrip of supply stores. Those were always good. She could see things like capsuls (which she made a note to go look at later), hiking things, weapons, house supplies. Just about everything was covered.

"So what first? Jeans and stuff or chocolate?"
