"Wow. They must be pretty pissed." Seth shook his head a little. "That is kinda scary, actually."
"I'm tempted to have Temmy or Li Li roar at them," Andy said, "but then we definitely wouldn't have a camp left. They both have like this supersonic kamikaze thing that they can do, it's like a gigantic sonic boom but not. I've never gotten the chance to let them use it, because it's highly destructive."
"You know," Seth said speculatively, "if we're ever in the area again, or if the need ever arises, you could always have them use it on the scientist's house."
"I could," Andy agreed. "I hadn't thought about it before, but I bet Li Li has enough control over it to keep the damage localized..." She thought about it for a moment. "It's an idea to consider."
"Oh definitely," Seth said with a smug smirk. "I can consider that for a long time."
"I agree," Andy said. Checking the time, she reached for the balls that held her dragons. "Come on, let's start heading back. If nothing else, I can halve Temmy and Li Li restrain them. They can't argue from opposite ends of camp all that efficiently."
"Yup. Sounds good to me." Seth started heading back to the big open area where they'd landed, so the dragons would have more room. He hummed lightly to himself as he did.
Andy followed him, Tia Dalma beside her.
"Where are we going?" the sea goddess asked. "Back to camp," Andy replied. "We flew here by dragonback, so that's how we're getting back. You can ride with me, or you can take cover, it's up to you." "The sky is not my domain," Tia Dalma pointed out. Andy nodded. "I know, which is why I'm totally not offended if you choose not to fly," she replied. Tia Dalma nodded and disappeared into her ball. Taking one ball in each hand, Andy let out her dragons. The two shook themselves a bit. "Ready to head back?" she asked them. "Of course," Temeraire replied, holding out a claw for Seth to step onto. Obviously, Temmy knew the drill by now. Lien just nodded and helped Andy up. |
Seth got up, grinning. "Thanks, Temmy," he said, patting the dragon's hide affectionately.
Once she was as secure on Lien's back as she was going to get without a harness to hold on to, Andy gave the order for them to take off. She could tell that both dragons were happy to get so much free reign in one day, and she was glad she was able to make them happy. She knew they didn't get near as much freedom lately as they were used to, and she felt bad about it. It didn't take them long to get back to camp.
Seth slid down Temmy's side, looking around. Everything was quiet.
"Hey guys." Belle walked over, smiling a little. "I found some apples and things. And the two guys stopped fighting, finally." |
"Good, because I was seriously considering having Temmy and Li Li intervene and force them to opposide ends of camp for a while," Andy said. "And Seth found some berries and a Van Hellsing."
"Oh he is going to flip his lid," Belle said with a half-hearted snicker. "That might be fun to watch." She shook her head a little, looking around. "Come on. We may as well settle down and try to get some lunch."
"You know, I said almost the same thing," Andy grinned. "I can just imagine how well this is going to go over." Stretching a bit, she let her group out of their balls so they could relax a bit as well.
Belle chuckled. "Well, Van Hellsing is going to flip. I mean, he's going to be surrounded by a bunch of creatures, including a sort-of vamp."
"Yeah, I figure we'll just sit back and watch the fireworks," Andy agreed. "And I caught a Tia Dalma. Life is good."
"Ooooh, nice. I wonder how she and Norry will get along."
"Norry?" Seth questioned. "Yeah. Norrington. I always used to refer to him as Norry, so." Belle shrugged. |
"I'm kind of hoping for neutral," Andy replied. "They didn't interact at all in the movies, so there's hope." She grinned. "I admit I almost screamed like a little girl when one of those crabs surprised me."
Belle laughed. "Yeah, I can see that. Those crabs are kinda funny, I must admit." She shook her head a little. "They probably won't interact much here either, so we may be okay."
Andy nodded in agreement and sat down against Temeraire's side. Her dex had been periodically beeping at her, so she finally took it out and let it spit its information at her. She didn't pay all that much attention to it, until it informed her that her Tia Dalma was no longer bound in human form.
"Interesting," she murmured. She had no idea what she would do with that tidbit of information, though. Once she'd registered the bishoujo's nickname as Tia, she put her dex away. |
Seth plopped down next to Andy, bored. "Well, anyone got any genius ideas what to do?" he asked, looking at the other two.
"Nope. Don't look at me. I've spent the day so far dealing with grumpy gods and demons." |
"You could see if Kaelas will let you brush him out," Andy suggested. "I'm betting he's probably full of burrs by now."
"Sure." Seth looked over at Kaelas, studying him for a few moments. "Well? What do you think? Grooming time?"
Kaelas studied him for a moment before nodding, calling in his preferred brush.
'I will let you know when to stop,' he said mentally to the trainer as he stretched himself out. |
Seth blinked, startled, before he nodded and started brushing out Kaelas, focusing on the simple task. It reminded him of home. He cleaned out the brush a few times so that his job would continue to be easy.
