"Hey," Kiara said as she walked in. She noticed Lelouch and quickly sat beside him on the sofa. "Mind telling us what's on your mind? You seem to be in a bit of a funk since last night."

"I saw Shirley on the battlefield... I think maybe she was somehow involved with last night," said Lelouch. He seemed to get an idea of sorts. He picked up the phone and dialled a number. After a while, someone answered.
"Suzaku?" A pause. "Is anything strange happening there? Right... I see."

Kiara raised an eyebrow as Lelouch began to talk to Suzaku of all people. She glanced at Raina. What exactly was Lelouch thinking? He was on the phone for a bit more before he put it away. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Mind explaining what that was about?" she said sarcastically.

"I just phoned the student council room to see if anything strange was ahppening - Shirley's not there," said Lelouch.
"Her dad did die," said Raina.
"But if I did see her last night... we need to confirm this," said Lelouch, rising from the sofa. "We need to go and search her room."

Kiara frowned. "Before we do that I've got a couple things to ask you."
Lelouch looked at her. "I know you did something last night, when the boat exploded. The JLF just up and decided to comit suicide? Somehow that doesn't seem like them."
She glanced at Raina. She was pretty sure that her purple haired friend had noticed too.

"Yes, I ignited the liquid sakuradite," said Lelouch. "We have no need for the JLF, and it was the best way to get rid of the bulk of Britannian forces."
"I thought so," said Raina, nodding.

"It makes sense," Kiara replied before she frowned. "Are you sure it was Shirley?"
"Who else could it have been?" Lelouch asked. "There's a chance that she saw me without my mask, that's why this is so important."
"It'd be just like her to mess stuff up," Kiara muttered.

"Anyway, let's go back to the Academy," said Lelouch. "I just need to change into my uniform first."
They left the room, and Lelouch emerged a few minutes later dressed in his Ashford Academy uniform.

Kiara yawned as they rode the rail back to the nearest station near Ashford before they got off and reentered the school grounds. SHe looked around and everythin was quiet. Everyone else was still in classes probably. She looked at her watch, they had plenty of time.

"I think Shirley's room is along here somewhere," said Raina, pointing along the corridor. "But I'm not sure..."
A random girl walked by. Lelouch tapped her on the shoulder. "Answer my question. Where is Shirley Fenette's room?"
Red ringed around her eyes and she pointed. "That one there."

"You're Geass can come in very handy," Kiara commented as the random girl walked away. "Although I still prefer my own."
"Pyromaniac," Lelouch said.
"Not yet," Kiara replied offhandedly, shrugging her shoulders. "Who knows though? Come on let's get this over with. The less time I'm in contact with anything that is remotely related to Shirley the better."

C.C. pushed open the door and they went into the room.
"One of you three, go through her clothes," said Lelouch, moving towards the bookcase.
"So you don't want to look through Shirley's underwear then?" Raina teased.
"She wouldn't mind if you did it, you know," said C.C. "After all, she is in love with you."
"Be quiet and just search for anythign suspicious."
"You have some weird qualms."

Kiara snickerd at Lelouch before folliwng Raina over to the wardrobe and looking inside. Some of the outfits almost made her want to puke. She stared at the green dress that she'd seen Shirley wear the night she was suposed to go out with Lelouch and considered setting the horrible thing on fire. She glanced at Raina.

"She seriously needs new clothes," said Raina, her nose wrinkling with distaste. "It's insulting just looking at this."
"Well if you're through being insulted, try doing a bit of searching?" was Lelouch's reply.

"Yeah yeah," Kiara replied, rolling her eyes at him before turning her head back around to look through the clothes. "See anything Raina?"

"Nope," said Raina.
"Her diary only goes up the 14th," said C.C.
"That's the day her father died," said Lelouch. He picked up a box. "What's this?" His hands slipped and photos fell out of the box. C.C. picked one up. "They're pictures of you."

"Can anyone say the word stalker?" Kiara asked sarcastically. She walked over and peered at the photo of Lelouch. "Definitely stalkery. You know, if these weren't taken with your permission you could fire charges..."

"Huh?" was all Lelouch could say.
"You look awfully innocent for a guilty man," said C.C.
Raina peered at the photos. "These aren't bad, especially the one of you sleeping on the grass. I wonder what camera she uses...?"

Kiara peered at the photo that Raina was looking at.
"That's actually a good photo. If this weren't so creepy I'd be impressed."
Lelouch gave her a blank look. "Like I said," Kiar told him bluntly. "Stalkery."

"Right, you guys can look for Lelouch's gun or whatever," said Raina decisively. "But I'm gonna see if I can find her camera. The quality in these pictures is awesome."

Kiara glanced around the room before pointing to a picture on the bed side table. "There's something behind there, might be the camera."

Raina grabbed it. "Ooooh that is a good one. I'm totally taking this."
"That's stealing," said Lelouch absent mindedly, still looking through the bookcase.
"It means she can't take pictures of you in your sleep any more," said Raina with a smile. There was nothing he could say to that.

Kiara tapped her chin as she returned to searching through Shirley's clothes. They'd finished the wardrobe and now it was time to go through the drawers. She took a deep breath before pulling open one at random. She scrunched up her face in disgust as she found herself looking into Shirley's underwear drawer.
"This is so unpleasant," she muttered.

"Eww, she has baaaad taste," said Raina, holding up some of Shirley's underwear. "What do you think C.C.?"
The green-haired girl peered over at the pants. "I didn't realise people still wore that kind of thing."

"Can we have a little more focus over there?" Lelouch said almost sarcastically. He turned around before seeing exactly what Riana was holding and quickly turning back to the book shelf. Kiara smirked.
"What's the matter Lelouch?" she asked him, grinning.
"Just keep looking," he muttered back.
