"Heyya newbies," said Raina in a sugar sweet voice. "I'm Raina-sama, the second in comman of this squad. This is Kuchiki Kiara, your commander, and Kiryuu Nanami, the thrid in command."
"Did you say Kuchiki?" called out one of the newbies. A ripple of conversation was going through them all.
"What's your name?" asked Raina with the same sweet voice.
"Suzuki Hiro," said the young man.
"Congratulations Suzuki Hiro, you're able to hear and distinguish words! A round of applause please!!!"

Kiara smirked at that, Raina was definitely good at keeping the troops in line.
"Now that the introductions are out of the way," she said in her best comanding tone. "I expect all ofyou to listen to our orders and obey them precisely unless ordered differently by a higher ranked individual. Therefore if I tell you to do something and you receive orders from Zero then you may dismis my orders if they contradict his authority. Is that understood?"

There was a chorus of "Yes ma'am"
Raina smiled and nodded. "We are the Special Forces. That means that our missions will be slightly different from the other squads, so there are slightly different protocols. Any mission we participate in is secret, even from the other Black Knights. You are forbiddent o speak to anyone about the contents of a mission unless we say otherwise. Also, as Ki-chan said, Zero can overrule our orders, but only Zero. Commanders of other squads, even Toudou, can not overrule directions given to you by us. So if you've got all that, let's head to the Knightmare simulators."

"Hai Raina-sama!" the chorused and fell into step behind Raina and Kiara as they made their way to the Knightmare simulators. Soon they had the newbies inside the simulators and Kiara was monitering their progress on a screen.
"Like I said earlier," she said as she studied the data. "Green horns the lot of them. They'll get themselves killed within the first fifteen minutes of battle."

"They'll make nice cannon fodder at least," said Raina, watching as oen of the simulators crashed into a large building.

"They'll just be target practice for the Brittanians," Kiara muttered darkly. "And we don't have time to train them properly. Let's hope that they get enough skills here to at least learn how to eject before they're blown up."
Her hoes really weren't that high though.

After a while of observation, the more advanced members of the squad started giving the newbies advice, and Raina was eager to join in.
"It's because you don't have confidence in yourself," she told Suzuki Hiro the third time he crashed. She produced a bottle of purple nail polish from her pocket. "Hold out your hands, this will help."

Kiara didn't even bother trying to stop Raina as the new recruit had his nails painted a nice shade of purple. She stared at the results on the screen as he went into the simulater again.
"No way," she muttered as his score went up by about thirty percent. sHE GLANCED AT rAINA.

Raina went back proudly to stand with Kiara. She winked. "Never underestimate the nail polish!" she hlep up the bottle. "Want some? I have the same stuff in other colours too."

Kiara thought for a minute. "I'll go for red," she said. She would go for blue but she liked red as well.

Raina got out her bottle of red nail polish and set about painting Kiara's nails. "It's amazing this stuff. IMproves your self confidence. Just look at that guy." She nodded over at Suzuki. "I just painted his fingernails, told him that if he was still having trouble I'd paint his toenails for him too, and he's doing amazingly!"

"You know..." Kiara whispered. "I wonder if we could convince C.C. to paint Lelouch's nails."

"Would even C.C. manage it? The best way would be to do it while he's asleep," said Raina.

"Either that or you hold him down while we do it as quickly as we could," Kiara added. "That or we drug his food so he sleeps and then we do it..."

"No no no no no no such things are evil!" said Raina. "We mustn't do it! You mustn't tempt to do evil deeds!"

Kiara raised an eyebrow. "And why exactly is that?" she asked, somehow managing to keep her voice serious even though she was fighitng back a smirk.

"...No reason really I just wanted to say that." Raina turned her attention back to the newbies.

Kiara sighed before doing teh same. She began to wonder through the ranks of their squad, correcting some of them as they tried to get used to the controls of a Knightmare.
"This is like playing a video game!" one particularly foolish newbie exclaimed. That made Kiara angry. SHe litterally yanked the newbie out of the simulator and deposited him roughly on the floor. He looked up at her with wide eyes. Everyone wa staring at her now, all eyes on her and the newbie on the floor.
"Stand up," she growled at him. He didn't move. "I told you to stnad up!"
He scrambled to his feet, eyes wide as he stared into Kiara's blazing angry eyes.
"Mind repeating what you just said?" she asked in a faux calm voice.

Raina smirked as the newbie crumbled under Kiara's gaze and looked close to tears.
"I -I s-said..." he muttered something inaudible.

"What was that?" Kiara demanded. "Look your comanding officer in the eye when you speak and Do. Not. Mumble!"
"Yes Ma'am!" he said quickly. "I s-said that it was l-like playing a v-videogame."
Kiara growled and the newbie shrank from her.
"Does anyone else think this?" she demanded, glaring around at them all. "That this is some sort of GAME to be played? That these simulators are nothing but big toys to play with?"
No one dared to move.
"Good!" she hissed before whirling back to the newbie, her eyes flashing.
"This is a newsflash for you kid," she growled.
"I'm older than you," he protested weakly.
"Do not interupt!" Kiara snarled and he shrank further. "Like I was saying," she said, calming down so her foice was deadly cold. "This is not a game. Think of it as a game and when you lose, you die. That is all there is to it. There are no second chances, there are no extra lives. This. Is. Real. Life!" She enphesised each word and as she spoke the newbie seemed to go whiter and whiter. "Anyone in this squad taht holds this opinion of Knightmares and these simulators is IMMEDIATELY suspended from using a Knightmare under my comand and if you transfer to another squad I will pass on what I have observed to your new comanding officer! As for you," she glared at the newbie. "Get our of here before I demote you further!"

(For some reason that felt really REALLy good!)

The young man scurried away in terror, while the others stared in a stony silence.
"What's the matter?" grinned Raina. "Get back to training, you'll need it, my dears!"

They all scrambled to do as Raina said and Kiara leaned against the wall, suddenly feeling a bit tired after blowing up at the newbie.
"Sorry about that," she muttered to Raina. "But that guy really should'v ehave said that..."

"Why are you apologising to me?" asked Raina, wide-eyed. "You didn't yell at me. And anyway you were right to. Sure, thanks to you a grown man is probably having to change his pants cos he wet himself talking to a 16-year-old, but it means one less idiot we don't need on the team."

Kiara grinned. "Very true," she said. 2And did he really soil himself?" chessire cat grin had spread accross her face at the thought.

"Yes, he really did," said Raina, grinning back. "These eyes don't miss much."
