"No wait!" Kiara called as Raina dragged the two boys away. "Damn it!" The gunshots kept coming and Kiara had to pull Kallen to cover as they ducked and dived before managing to get away from the knightmares.
"They got away," Kallen reported.
"It's alright," was the reply. "We'll get them. We need Zero back."
"And Raina," Kiara muttered but didn't correct the speaker for the moment. This was too important. THey needed to get Lelouch and Raina back and to find out exactly who this 'Rolo' person was.

The whole place was in chaos. People screaming, people shooting, people running, people dying. And the middle of it all, Raina, Rolo and Lelouch were running. They found their way into a side passage, but barely had time to catch their breath before someone started shooting at them. Lelouch pushed Rolo out of the way, stumbled as he fel into Raina, and the two of them fll down one of the shafts under construction. Raina looked up to see Rolo's face getting smaller and smaller and smaller as they fell.

"We need to find them now!" Kiara growled as she quickly scanned through some reports before making her way down a corridor and toward C.C.
"We need to find them," she repeated. "You know where Lelouch is right?"
"Yes," C.C. replied. "Along with Raina now come on if you're coming."
Kiara didn't need telling twice and they were both in the Knightmare frame that would take them to where Lelouch and Raina were. As her friend came into sight Kiara relaxed as she saw that her friend was unharmed before grimacing at the sight of the dead bodies around them, this was not pleasant; it never was.

Luckily their fall was broken by a sheet of some weird plastic-y stuff, so it was a reasonably soft landing. Dazed, Raina stood up. Strangely, she wasn't afraid. Adrenalin was pumping through her, and she'd never been more alert. At the back of her mind she wondered about this, but didn't have time to properly think as she grabbed Lelouch's arm and dragged him along one passageway.
It smelled. Bad. They turned a corner and gasped in shock at the scene before them. People were lying everywhere, covered in the dull red of dried blood. There was blood on the floor, the walls, everywhere. Brittannians and Elevens both lay there, unmoving.
Lelouch clutched his mouth to keep from throwing up. Raina did the same. She noticed Lelouch was looking at a blood-stained picture in one of the Eleven girls' hands. It was a picture of Zero.
"They're so stupid," he muttered. "Still clinging to him."
"Come on."
There was a Knightmare up ahead. It wasn't moving, so Raina risked getting closer. But as they approached, it turned around. She darted to the side but it didn't shoot. The hatch opened and a girl with green hair stepped out.
"Lelouch, Raina."
"How does she know our names?"
"I know both of you very well. More than you know yourselves."
It was weird. Common sense told Raina that this girl was a nutter. But something... something inside believed her. A strange feeling overcame her. It was similar to a feeling she'd had often over the past year, like a prick in her side, a thron that needed to be pulled out. Now it felt like she had grasped that thorn and was ready to pull.
There was a bang. Blood spread across the girl's chest and she fell to the ground. She'd been shot in the heart.

"C.C.!" Kiara yelped. Logically she knew that C.C. would be alright: she was immortal after all, but that didn't stop her from jumping from the cockpit and running to C.C.'s side. She was currently in the arms of Lelouch and Raina was standing beside them.
"Damn damn damn damn damn," she cursed under her breath. She could tell that something was coming, something bad. She glanced around but suddenly heard something. Her head whipped around, quickly followed by the rest of her body and she stood protectively in front of Raina, Lelouch and C.C. as the enemy showed themselves.

"Congratulations, bait," said a man, standing atop a Knightmare. There were several others behind him, but it was he who was holding a gun that was smoking. He'd killed the green-haired girl.
"Bait? What are you talking about?!" exclaimed Lelouch, running forward to catch the girl who'd been shot. Raina was more preoccupied with the other girl who'd appeared. The feeling she'd had before was a lot stronger now.
"Ki...a...ra?"

Kiara growled as the man talked to Lelouch, calling him bait. So this had all been a trap then? She wasn't all that surprised that Britannia would do something like this.
Her head whipped around as she heard Raina say her naie hesitantly.
"That's right Rai," she replied.
Men began to appear and began to burn the bodies lying around them and Kiara's hackles rose as she heard one 'dead' body start screaming.
"Stop it!" Lelouch called. "She's still alive!"
The man on the knightmare didn't seem to care and before Kiara could react them were encircled in a ring of flames.

The feeling was even weirder with Kiara. She recognised her - well of course she did. Kiara Knight was the Student Council member who had betrayed them all, and revealed that she was really Kuchiki Kiara, a terrorist. Raina knew that. But she didn't really remember much about the girl. But now that she saw her, standing there, she really did recognise her. She felt familiarity, which was intensified as she called her "Rai", a nickname. Just what was going on...?
She'd zoned out, so she didn't notice what the man and Lelouch were saying. She snapped back to reality, to see the man pointing his gun at Lelouch.
And then something weird happened. The girl in Lelouch's arms sat up. She turned to face him, placed a hand on his shoulder and kissed him.

Kiara turned to face Lelouch and C.C. fully as C.C. sat up in Lelouch's arms and kissed him. She smirked as she felt a shift in the air. She looked to Raina.
"Sorry Rai but I am not gunna do that to get your memories back."
Lelouch was straightening now and C.C. had moved out of his arms to stand on the other side of Lelouch from Raina. C.C. smirked as she heard the soldiers whispering in awe and fear.
"She was shot!"
"Why isn't she dead?"
"This is impossible!"

"Memories...?" Raina was stunned. The green haired girl stood up, and took a step towards her. For a moment she thought that she was going to kiss her too, but all she did was reach out and place her palm on Raina's forehead.
Suddenly a dizziness swept over her and the feeling she'd had intensified and intensified... and suddenly released. Images, sounds - memories - came flooding towards her as she began to remember. She was a terrorist. Lelouch was their leader. Nunnally was Lelouch's sister and they were both the children of the Emperor.

Kiara grinned as she saw from Raina's eyes and expression that her memories were coming back.
"Finally," she murmured, casting a venemous glare at the soldiers as Lelouch stepped forward. She moved out of his way, giving him a direct view of the man who was planning on killing them all.
"He's all yours," she said, smirking darkly at the now worried soldiers. They were about to find out why you didn't mess with them.

"Lelouch vi Brittannia commands you," said Lelouch, with a cruel smile. "All of you, die!"
"Yes, your Highness!" the soldiers chanted and pointed their guns at each other. There were a series of loud bangs, and then all was quiet again.
Until two Knightmares burst down from the ceiling. One was one of the Holy Blades, the other was the Guren. Kallen.

"Hey!" Kiara called. "Took you guys long enough!"
"Sorry!" Kallen called back. "We were a little busy."
Kiara turned and walked back towards Raina, ignoring Kallen and the Holy blade for the moment as she focused on her friend.
"You alright Rai?" she asked.

Raina blinked for a second and then threw her arms around Kiara. "Kiiiii-chan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would say I missed you but that wouldn't be perfectly honest because to be honest I completely forgot that you were my best friend, I think it was the Emperor we had to go see him and then he made us look at him and he had geass and made us forget stuff, the Student Council too, we forgot all about Nunally and about Lelouch being Zero and then there's Rolo he's Lelouch's brother but he's not really his brother he's just taken Nunnally's place so I have no idea who he is and I haven't seen you for a whole year I'm so sorry for escapign with the other students while you guys were fighting and I'm so sorry I couldn't keep an eye on Nunnally it was V.V. he's too strong for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Wow, wow, wow there," Kiara gasped, hugging Raina back. "Easy on the babble okay? I could barely follow you you were talking so fast. The emperor made you forget?" She frowned in thought. Just what was going on and exactly where had this 'Rolo' come from? They didn't have time to think about that now though.
She turned her head to see Lelouch walking back towards them.
"How do you feel?" she asked curiously.

"Fine," said Lelouch. "But for now, we have to deal with the Brittannian army."
"We have a Knightmare here for you," said Kallen. "And one for Raina too, of course."
Lelouch climbed into the Knightmare. "Do you have an accurate map of the tower itself?"
"Yes, sending it to you now."

Kiara smirked at Raina before prying herself out of her friend's hug.
"Come on," she said. "We've got some Britannian egos to deflate and some Knightmares to crush." She could already feel the adrenaline pumping through her at the thought of fighting beside Lelouch and Raina again. As she found her Knightmare she quickly scaled it and seated herself in the cockpit before quickly turning on the radio.
"Ready to go Zero," she reported.

"All right, do you have explosives with you?" asked Lelouch.
"Plenty," said Urabe.
"Divide the Black Knights. Plant the explosives in these specific points on these floors," said Lelouch, sending an image to all Knightmares. Tell me when you're done. C.C., you help too."
"So will I!" said Raina, climbing into a Knightmare.

"Ni9ce," Kiara commented. "A little firework display is just what we need."
It didn't take her long to plant her pack of explosives and soon her Knightmare was moving with others as Lelouch implimented his plan.
"Hey Raina," she said over their closed channel. "How do you feel? Still remember how to pilot a knightmare after a year's break?"

"It's like riding a bike," said Raina. "You don't forget this kind of thing. Or maybe I'm just talented." The arm of her Knightmare fell off. "OK, give me time, I only just realised that the past year has basically been fake!"

"I'll cut you some slack then," Kiara smirked. "So," she said as her Knightmare sped accross the ground. "What can you tell me about this Rolo person that me and Kallen saw you and Lelouch with? I think I heard Lelouch call him brother but..." she was very confused. She knew that Nunally had been taken but where exactly had Rolo come from?

"That's what's weird," Raina replied. "He just showed up after we went back to school. At this point we'd all been brainwashed into thinking he was Lelouch's little brother though... I had a whole load of memories of him being there since I started going to that school, but now that my real memories are back, I can see that he really just showed up out of nowhere. It's kinda hard to believe that he's an imposter or a spy though... Rolo's such a sweet guy. Socially retarded, but sweet."

"Does he seem to care about Lelouch?" Kiara asked, wanting as much information as possible. If this Rolo, whoever he was, was more loyal to Lelouch than whoever had sent him in the first place then they might get a good ally out of this whole thing. "Or does Lelouch care about him?" She was genuinely curious about that last question. She wondered if any emotions Lelouch felt during the year would still be there after his memories came back.

"Well of course he seemed to care about him," said Raina. "He was posing as his brother! The two of them were pretty close... mostly because Rolo didn't have any friends his own age. He just hung around with Lulu and us."

"Hmm..." Kiara murmured, thinking deeply. "If that's the case then I think we'll have a chance of convincing him to join us. It's a slim one but maybe...just maybe...if he was close to Lelouch then he could've developed feelings towards his 'Nii-san'." She thought for a moment before refocusing on the battle. "Now I think that's enough talk. Let's kick some Britannian ass shall we?"
