Axel knew that what he was going to say was probably going to end up hurting the silverette. "I am glad that we are going to be talking about this," said Axel as he looked at the food in front of him. He began eating slowly as he glanced up at the blonde next to him. He took his one hand, which was sitting on his leg, and placed it on Roxas' leg and squeezed it reassuringly.

Riku nodded, still curious as to what was going to be said, but knew he had to wait. So he went back to eating his food quietly.
Roxas jumped slightly at the sudden contact with Axel, but relaxed almost immediately. He smiled lightly at him for a second before dropping his gaze to the table, pushing away his nearly empty plate. He wasn't really in the mood to be eating any more right this moment. |
Axel smiled at the blonde's reaction as he continued to eat more of his food. Once he was done he pushed his plate towards the middle of the table. "Well I will meet the two of you in the gardens," he said as he stood up. "I will be waiting for your arrival there." With that being said he stood up and walked out of the kitchen and began making his way towards the gardens.

Roxas watched Axel go for a moment before he turned his attention to Riku to see that the silverette still had a good amount of food on his plate."...I'm just going to go on ahead... Alright?" he asked and stood when he seen the other nod. The blond shot a smile at him and went after the redhead, wanting to walk quickly but managing to keep his walking at a steady pace. But he still managed to catch up to him and he poked Axel in the side lightly to get his attention.

Axel continued to walk down the hallway, but then he nearly jumped out of his skin as he when he felt someone poke his side. Turning he looked at the person that did that and smiled, seeing that it was Roxas. "Hey there," said Axel as he looked at the blonde. "What are you doing here? Would you like to come with me to the gardens and discuss what we are going to be saying to Riku later?"

Roxas smiled lightly when Axel jumped. That made them even for when the redhead had done it earlier. He nodded and started towards the gardens again. "Yeah. I'm not sure exactly how to go about it. Do we just straight out say it or try to ease him into it gently?" he asked. He wanted to go with the option that would be the easiest for Riku to accept... Except that he wasn't sure which way that was.

Axel continued to walk until they got to the gardens. Sitting down on one of the nearby benches he gestured for Roxas to join him on one. "I've known Riku since we were kids. I believe that easing him into this is the best thing, I think then we should all go on a ride, and find I guess the real Sora. He knew the real Sora too, but since you were practically his clone they should hit it off again just as fast. I believe that that would be the best course of action," said Axel. He just hoped that everything would go according to plan, but he was born with bad luck so he wasn't so sure that it would.

Roxas smile lightly and took a seat next to Axel on the bench. He listened to what the redhead was saying and nodding his head. It did sound like a good plan... Except for the fact the blond was afraid of riding. He didn't know why either. Every time he was on a horse though, he'd get tense and nervous and just basically wanting off. But he was going to go through with the plan. It really was for the best. After all, Riku needed to know the truth. "Sounds good to me."

Axel was glad that the blonde agreed with what he was saying. "I think everything should work out, hopefully," said Axel. He hoped that he was- no he knew that he was doing the right thing. Riku had fallen in love with the real Sora, and then there was the switch. So in retrospect, Riku really had fallen in love with Sora, the real Sora. Roxas was just a very good substitute.

Roxas nodded. "I'm sure that they will." he said. At least, he hoped that they would. He didn't want Riku to end up being mad at him for lying to him. He had been a good friend to him since he's arrived and he didn't want to lose that.
Riku approached them, having just finished eating. He crossed his arms lightly and came to a stop, standing in front of the two of them. His attention flickered from Roxas to Axel for a moment. "What is it we need to talk about?" he asked. |
Axel looked around as he let out a sigh noticing that Riku was approaching them. He heard what the silvernette said as he asked what they were doing. "Riku," started Axel. "I think that it is best that you sit down for this. There is something that Sora and I need to tell you." Axel made a gesture to the nearby benches as he sat down himself.

Riku was silent for a long moment, his attention jumping from Axel to Roxas, confusion written clearly on his face. But he nodded and took a seat near the redhead. "What is it you need to tell me?" he asked, crossing his arms and keeping his focus on the redhead in front of him.

Axel cleared his throat, not really knowing where to begin. "Well you see," said Axel as he looked at the silvernette. "I don't know how to say this so I am just going to come right out and say it, so with having said that. This isn't the real Sora." He waited to see how Riku would react. Would he lash out, would he yell?

The confusion on Riku's face grew. "What do you mean he's not the real Sora? Of course he is. There's only one of him." he said, keeping his tone even. If this was some sort of joke, it really wasn't funny.
Roxas dropped his gaze to the ground, afraid to say something. After all, Axel had known Riku longer and would know better how the silverette would react. He really didn't want to end up getting hurt. |
Axel let out a sigh, clearly Riku was not understanding what he was saying. "Alright," said Axel as he looked at Riku. "It is true that there is one Sora. There is only one Sora in the entire world. This isn't him though. His name is Roxas. He could pass as Sora's twin though. Sora and Roxas switched places. Do you understand now?" asked Axel. Axel hoped that he wasn't being insulting by saying this so bluntly to the other male, but this seemed like the only way that Riku would understand.

Riku was silent for a long moment, going over what Axel said in his mind. There was someone out there that looked exactly like Sora... And he was sitting here in front of him. What were the possibilities of that? He nodded his head slowly, sure he understood.. For the most part. "yeah.. I understand." he said, even though his voice wasn't too sure.

Axel listened to the silvernette say that he understood, though, he was not quite sure that he believed what the other male had said. "We can bring you to the real Sora. We can do right now if you want to. Roxas and Sora switched places one day when Roxas was in town, and they hatched the plan to change places," said Axel as he looked at Riku wondering what he would say.

Riku was silent for a long moment. Going to see the real Sora would help prove what Axel was saying.. But did he want to? If he was telling the truth, then the silverette was having a great time with this Roxas.. Did he want to change that? He knew the answer to that question before he even asked and he nodded. "Alright. Let's go." he said, standing up.

Axel was glad that Riku accepted what he was saying, and he was even more thrilled that he wanted to go and see the "real" Sora. "Off we go then," said Axel as he took Roxas' hand and whispered,"Don't worry you can ride with me if you want to, or you can ride your own horse." Either way he needed to bring an extra horse for Sora if he decided that he wanted to ride back on his own...wait...If they only brought two horses then Roxas would ride with Axel, and it would force the "real" Sora and Riku to ride together. "On second thought ride with me. I have an idea." He began walking off towards the stables.

Roxas stood as well and smiled lightly when Axel took hold of his hand. He was just about to ask if he could ride with the redhead, but it was already offered, so he just nodded. He followed after the two quietly as they headed to the stables, the upcoming horse ride creating nervous tension grow in his stomach. He knew that it was necessary so that Riku could know the truth. Plus the ride wasn't that long, so he could just push his way through it. With Axel there, it would help the nervous feeling go away, so he figured it would be worth it.

Once at the stables he went to the began saddling his horse. Helping Roxas up first, he got onto the horse behind him as he waited for Riku to get on the horse next to him. Axel knew that this was something that he had to do, and he was still very glad that Riku wanted to see the real Sora, but he figured that there would be some form of animosity towards him as well. At Sora because he left and tricked him, and for Axel because he knew about it for so long.

Roxas graciously accept Axel's help on getting up on the horse. He was sure that he would have been able to do it just fine on his own, but there was always that possibility that he would fall and embarrass himself. A faint trace of a blush spread across the blond's face, just for a moment, when the redhead got behind him. He knew it was a stupid reaction, yet he couldn't help it.Riku saddled his horse quickly and quietly before pulling himself up. His attention went to Axel for a moment before it went to the exit. "Alright. Lead the way." he said, holding onto the horse's reins.

Axel nodded his head as he lightly nudged the side of his horse as he led the three of them out of the stables and towards the town where Roxas lived. Once there he passed through the narrow cobblestone covered streets as he stopped in front of one of the houses. "This is the place," said Axel as he got off of the horse. Once he was down he looked at Roxas and offered his hand up to wait for the blonde to grab it so he could get off of the horse. "Let's go get, Sora now."

Roxas was finding it hard to relax the whole trip to town. He knew he shouldn't be nervous about falling. After all, Axel was right there. But still, he couldn't get the idea out of his head. He nearly sighed in relief when they came to a stop in front of his house. He gladly took the redhead's offered hand and slid off the horse. His legs buckled a bit, but he managed to stay standing upright.
Riku looked curiously at the house they stopped at. This didn't look like a place someone of royalty would stay at. But he pushed the thought aside as he slid off his own horse. "Where's he at?" he asked, looking over at Axel. |

Axel heard the silvernette from outside the house and then walked in behind him. "He should be upstairs," said Axel as he pushed Riku forward, towards the stairs. "Go on and go meet him. You haven't seen him in about a month. I bet that the two of you will be happy to see one another." He hoped that Sora was actually still here. It was true that he was royalty, and he hoped that no one in the village got wind of that. He knew that Sora was a formidable fighter, but he also knew how easy it was to overpower him. |
