Roxas didn't know what to say. The last thing he was expecting was for Axel to show up. He bit his lip as he looked back at Sora, unsure what they were supposed to do. He unwillingly looked back at Axel, wondering if he could talk his way out of this situation. "... Would you believe me if I said you were dreaming?" he asked, taking another step back away.

Axel rolled his eyes at the "Sora" that stood in front of him as he turned his gaze to the "Sora" who was trying to blend into the wall. Turning his attention to the other one he said,"It's not working. You might as well come down here and tell me what is really going on." He wasn't angry at the two of them. He was mad at the whole situation that was plaguing his mind right now making his head hurt.

Roxas glanced back at Sora when Axel did. He quickly turned his head though to look at the redhead. His thoughts were racing. What was he supposed to say? That he's been impersonating a prince? That was sure to either get him thrown in jail or killed. So he bit his lip lightly, drawing in a deep breath. "Well... I've basically told you before.." he said, remembering when he and Axel went out to that one lake near the castle and when Riku had come and interrupted their time together. "You probably don't remember though."

Axel raised an elegant red eyebrow as he looked at the blonde. "What are you talking about?" questioned. Axel looked at the blonde he was really confused. He saw "Sora", the one on the steps standing there and motioned for him to come down the stairs. The real Sora walked down the stairs and sat down at a nearby table. Turning towards the blonde he said,"Okay," said Axel as he pointed at 'Sora.' "I don't know who you are anymore, but go towards the table too and sit down. We need to talk about this." Heading over to the table himself he looked at the blonde and the brunette as he said"Okay so who wants to begin here?"

Roxas sighed as he went to take a seat at the table as well. It didn't look like there was any way to talk himself out of this situation, since Axel wouldn't believe that this was a dream. He glanced over at Sora for a second before turning his attention back to Axel. He bit his lip lightly, mind racing to think of how to get out of this, but his mind was coming up blank. "Well... What exactly is it that you're wanting to know?" he asked, leaning back in his seat. He'll try to answer the best he could. But he was going to avoid saying that he wasn't Sora for as long as he could.

Axel looked at the blonde and the brunette as he tried to figure out who was the real Sora. This was like one of those elaborate time games where the person that was chosen had to pick between someone that was an imposter and who was the real one. Axel sighed as he raked a hand through his main of red colored hair as he looked at the two of them again. "I want to know what is going on. I want to know the truth," said Axel. "Why are there two of you? Are you related to one another or something?"
Sora sat in his seat as he had his eyes downcast as he stared at the table. What was he supposed to say? Was he supposed to say surprise you found out? Was he supposed to lie? Was he supposed to tell the truth? Well he was supposed to tell the truth, that didn't mean that he was going to though. Sora turned his gaze towards the red head and said,"I am an actor. I was paid by Sora to look like him. Sorry this was a joke that got out of hand." What the heck had he just said?! Hopefully, Roxas would play along, and hopefully, Axel bought it. He pointed at Roxas and said,"He's the real Sora. I am just an actor that he hired." |
Roxas had bit his lip and before he could let loose the truth, Sora had started to speak. The blond turned to look at him, confused. Not that he minded about the lie though. He turned his attention back to Axel as he nodded. "Yeah. I'm sorry." he said, trying to not let his eyes drop down to the tabletop. "I hadn't meant for you to find out like this." he said. Not that he was planning on letting him know in the fist place. But he didn't need to know that.

Axel tilted his back and laughed out loud. This was just too great. "Sora," he said. "Why did you think you needed to do something like this?" Did he want attention or something? Was he lonely? Axel just didn't get it. Something sparkled in his eyes for a second as he thought about it. Sitting up in his chair he said,"We have to show Riku this. Come on lets go back to the palace."

Roxas frowned when Axel laughed. Did that mean he didn't believe him? But when he heard what was said, it showed that the redhead did believe that outrageous lie. "I don't know..." he muttered. He didn't have a reason because there wasn't really one to give. The main thing is that Axel believed him though. He shook his head quickly though when he heard what was said next. "No! Riku can't find out!" he exclaimed. "You weren't even supposed to find out."

Axel quirked an eyebrow as he looked at "Sora" and said,"Why not. Won't he get kick out of it too? I mean seriously, you had us both going I can imagine, but if you don't want to then you don't have to. I just want the real Sora to come back with me." He threw some golden coins towards the other Sora, the real Sora, and said,"Thanks for your time, here is some money in compensation. My young charge and I must be going back to the castle now though. Feel free to come by whenever."

Roxas almost sighed in relief when Axel didn't push for Sora to come back to the castle with them. Just because the redhead believed that lie, didn't mean that Riku would. And he was not in the mood to push his luck. He stood up and his gaze went over to Sora, kinda upset that he didn't even get the chance to say what he had come to say in the first place. He'd have to sneak out again later, hopefully with Axel not following next time. "Thank you for your time and I apologize for any trouble that I may have caused.."

Axel nodded his head as he saw "Sora" get up from the table and walk back towards the door, and out towards where the horses were tied up. He patted his horse on the his strong neck as he untethered him as he swung his leg around and mounted his horse looking around for "Sora's" horse. "Sora," said Axel. "Where is your horse?"

Roxas frowned lightly. He was sure that his horse had been tied securely. But sure enough, when they got outside the horse was gone. "I don't know.. Must of got loose." he said. That wasn't good. He sighed, knowing he'd have to find it now. He really hated his horrible knot-tying skill.

Axel frowned when he heard the blonde say this as he looked around to see where the mare had gotten to. "Go back into the house," said Axel as he looked at the blonde who was still standing there. "I'll go find your horse, just go inside where it is safe." Axel moved his horse forward as he called the horses name as Flame went trotting off towards where the horse was, if they could even find the horse.

Roxas nodded and headed back into the house. Even though he didn't see how standing around outside was dangerous. But then again, he was apparently a prince from a different country, so it made sense for him to be in hiding. Once he was sure that Axel was well out of hearing range, he looked around the house. "Sora! We need to talk!" he called.

Axel continued to look for the mare that had apparently run off. He found the mare about a mile away as he went and tethered the horse to Flame's saddle as he got back onto his horse intending on coming back to the house that he had left what felt like mere moments ago.
Sora looked at Roxas as he came running back into the house that he was staying at. "Roxas," he said as he looked at the other male wide eyed. "What's wrong?" |
Roxas shook his head. "Nothing's wrong." he said, running a hand through his hair. "I just wanted to talk to you about something.." He paused, trying to think of how to word what he wanted to say. "... I just want you to know that Riku's interested in you.. Well.. Me. but he thinks I'm you, so he likes you." he said.

Axel continued on his way towards the house where he had left Sora and his doppleganger. He stopped a few times to greet the people that he was ruling over. It was a little unnerving at times when he thought that he was now king of their nation. Unnerving indeed. Axel continued on his way as he reached the edge of the house as he waited for Sora to be done talking.
Sora looked at Roxas dumbfounded, what was he saying. That someone liked him when he didn't even know that the other male existed. "Okay so wait let me get this straight. Someone likes me even though you're masquerading as me? Do you like him?" |
A confused look crossed Roxas' face. "No. I don't like him... But... Didn't you tell me that you liked Riku?" he asked. Maybe he had heard him wrong. So then.. He had just wasted a large part of his time trying to get Riku to like Sora. That's just great. He could have been spending his time trying to spend more time alone with Axel. But he knew that wasn't possible, since Axel had been so busy lately.

Sora looked at Roxas as he then shifted his eyes down to the floor. "I mean ya I do like him, but I never actually told him that I did. I never got the chance, and when I had the chance I would freeze, and not say anything." Sora looked back up at the blonde apologetically. "I am glad that he likes me. God, I don't know what to do anymore. Maybe we should turn ourselves in or something. Get this whole thing in the open."

Roxas nodded. That made more sense. It proved that he didn't hear Sora wrong. He knew exactly what the brunette was going through, because the blond was actually starting to feel that way towards Axel. But when he heard what Sora said next, he shook his head quickly. "No! We can't do that!" he exclaimed. "I could get into serious trouble for pretending to be you. Or killed. I would really rather that not happen."

Sora heard what the blonde was saying as he found himself nodding his head in agreement. "You're right," he said. "You could be I can't put you in harms way. We will have to wait for the right moment to spring it on them so to say. Not to pry, but do you have feelings for Axel?"

Roxas was glad when Sora didn't push it that they should let the truth be known. After all, he knew how much the brunette wanted to be with Riku. But when he heard the question, he couldn't stop a faint trace of a blush from spreading across his face as he shook his head. "No! Of course not!" he said, obviously in denial. But it was very obvious that it was true. ".. Why do you ask?"

Sora looked at Roxas as he burst out laughing. Holding his sides he looked at the blonde and said,"Are you telling me this to try and convince yourself, or are you trying to just tell me." He looked at Sora and continued," I think that you need to figure this out for yourself first, Roxas,"

Roxas frowned when Sora started laughing at him. He had exactly been trying to be funny. "... I guess I'm trying to convince myself." he said. He knew that once he switched back with Sora that he wouldn't really get the chance to see Axel again. So he knew he was just setting himself up for heart-break for falling for him. But that didn't mean he could control the way he felt.
