The beast frowned when the food was gone. It tasted wonderful and he wished that he could thank her in some ways. He then smiled as he thought of a way and headed into his garden. He picked one rose and placed it on his gate. If she passed by she would find it and know he was thankful for the food.

It would be a few hours before Alexi walked by the castle again, but she had to in order to get to the store. She looked at the metal gate and saw something was off about it, so she moved closer to see and saw the rose that rested on it, "Oh.. I wonder if he got it.." She glanced up at the door and smirked when she saw that he did.
She took the rose off the gate and placed it behind her ear, then she continued on to the store, a smirk on her face the whole time

The beast sighed and headed into his library again. He sat down and picked up another book and started to read it happily.

Alexi went to the store and bought the food that she would need, then she went to the bakery and bought a dozen cookies, instead of leaving them in the plastic container that would make too much noise she put the cookies in a litttle bag, she would give these to the creature in thanks for not hurting her and for the rose.
Then as she headed back with the bags of graceries she took the bag of cookies and placed them inside the metal gate, so that he would see them if he were to look outside.
She smiled lightly and then went on her way

The beast stood up and streached after sitting down for so long. He headed into the kitchen to grab something ot eat and as he walked by the window he saw something. It was at the gate and it looked weird. He headed towards the door and when no one was looking he ran and grabbed what it was. He headed back inside and looked at the bag. he opened it and tasted one of the things inside and found he liked them. he smiled and then wondered what she would like in return for this. He figured it out and headed into his art room. After a little while he came out with a rolled up piece of paper and then stuck it outside in a bottle at the gate. He had painted her a picture of herself since he thought she owuld like it.

Alexi went back home and put the groceries away, then she started on homework that she would need to have done for tommorrow. She looked outside and saw that the sun was setting so she decided to start getting ready for bed, since she would be going to school tommorow, then she finished up her homework and crawled into bed, giving a yawn and settling down to sleep

The beast ate the food that the girl had given him slowly. He wanted to make it last as long as he could since they tasted wonderful. Once he was done he relaized how late it was and knew that he had to go to bed. he made his way to his room and curled up in his bed and fell asleep.

When morning rose Alexi was up early and getting ready for school, she put on her clothes and her makeup, brushed her hair, grabbed her bag (Which she had put all her school stuff back in), and then made her way to school.
She walked by the metal gates and saw the little bottle at the bottom of them, she raised her brow and picked it up, seeing there was something inside it she opened it and shook the object out.
When Alexi saw the painting she gasped softly, "Oh my.." She looked from the painting to the castle and smiled, "Did he make it?" That surely would have been incredible if that was the case, for she had seen the claws that he had.
She smiled brightly as she put the painting back in the bottle and then she put it in her backpack, where she then took out her lunch for the day, some spagetti that she had made last night, and put it near the metal gate

The beast woke up when the sun was up and headed into his garden. He picked up only a apple and found he wished he had food that the girl had given him. He walked over to the window to see if she had found the picture and smiled when he saw something next to the gate. He wondered for a second what he would give her next ahd found he wanted to write her. SO he got a piece of paper and wrote

Dear Miss

I am sorry for scaring you, I dont get many visitors. But thank you for the food, it tastes wonderful

He then stuck the paper into a bottle and ran outside. He switched hte food for the bottle and headed inside. He started to eat the food and loved the tast of it.

Alexi was anxious for school to be over, it seemed to be much longer than normal, and when the bell to end it finally came she jogged to the metal gate, wondering if he had left anything else for her.
She smiled when she saw the food was gone and wondered what was in this bottle, when she opened it and found out she was surprised to see that it was a letter.
Taking out some paper of her own she wrote down;

It's alright, I'm sorry that I had trespassed into your home... Twice. The first time was on a stupid dare and the second time was to get my stuff.
I'm glad that you liked the food and I'm more than willing to leave more for you.
Oh, and the painting is beautiful, did you do it?

She stuck it in the bottle and put it inside the metal gate, though she didn't know if he would come out to get it so she let out a loud whistle and then she jogged off, to let him know that someone had come by, hopefully he would get the message

the beat was bussy readin his books when he heard a loud whistle. He wondered what was going on and when he looked outside he was the girl leaving. He smiled and waited till the coast was clear before darting out and getting the bottle. Once he was safe inside he pulled the note out and smiled at he read. He then wrote on a new piece of paper,

That is in the past and all is forgiven. But I would like it very much if you continued to leave food. I have never tasted anything like the food your giving me. Oh and yes I did paint it, I paint a lot since I don't have much to do up here.

He then put the note in the bottle and stuck it in the gate.

When Alexi got home she immediately started wondering if he had gotten the note for her and if he had left anything in return. She went to her room and looked out the window, towards the castle.
She sighed and looked around for any excuse to walk by the gates again... She then got an idea.
Taking some paper and a pen with her she went next door, where the elderly woman of the neighborhood, she also happened to own a dog so she offered to take the dog for a walk, and she was glad when the lady accepted the offer.
So Alexi quickly leashed the dog up and then started to jog towards the castle, thought it was more difficult than she would have wished because the dog pulled and tugged on the leash, clearly not wanting to go.
But with some encouragement she managed to coax it to the metal gate. She saw the bottle on the outside and picked it up, reading the note inside and smiling wider.
Alexi brought the paper out and her pen, writing;

Well thank you so much for the painting, it must have taken some time for you to do. I will continue to leave more food for you since you like it.

She paused, thinking of what else to write when suddenly something came to her mind;

If you don't mind my asking... Who are you? Are you the owner of this castle? How long have you been the owner of it? I have heard several rumors about this castle but each one is as unlikely as the other
I would appreciate your response, if you do not wish to answer it then I understand

She wrapped the letter up and stuck it inside the bottle, she placed it behind the gate, then, instead of walking away to her house, she hid behind a tree and gave another loud whistle

The beast was making some food for himself when he heard the whistle. It was something he liked hearing now and he walked over to the window. He saw the the bottle in a different position and he smiled. Slowly he made his way to the door and when he was sure the coast was clear he ran and grabbed the bottle and ran inside. He read over the note and thought for a second. He knew she probably still had questions and decided to do something. He got some paper and wrote,

Yes I am the owner but it is hard to explain. It would take to much paper and I wouldn't be able to put it in one bottle. So why don't you come up. I promise I won't bite or anything. We can just have a simple talk and get to know each other.

He then placed the note on the bottle and set it back at the gate. He ran inside quickly before anyone saw him but bought he smelled the girl.

Alexi stayed still as he ran in and out of the house.
Once he had put a new note back she got up from her hiding spot and brought the note out, she took a deep breath when she finished reading it. She looked at the dog that she was walking and knew he couldn't stay there. So she took him back to his owner and then returned to the palace.
She pushed open the metal gate and then closed it again. She took another deep breath and then made her way up to the doors, she raised her hand, unsure of whether she should knock or not.
Deciding that that would be the best thing she knocked on the door, shuffling uneasily, did she just sign her death warrant?

The beast was surprised when he heard the knock. He would of expected her tocome tomorrow and not today. But he made his way to the door and opened it. He smiled when he saw her, "welcome." be said and stood back so that she could enter. He smiled and tries to make her feel welcome here as well. "I didnt expect you here so soon, I thought you would be here tomorrow." he said as he looked at her.

Alexi was shocked once more at the sight of this enormous beast in front of her, "Oh.. Well if you want me too come back tommorow then I understand." She said quickly, clearly nervous

The beast looked at her and smiled, "no, your here now, that is all that matters." he said as he looked at her and waited for her to come in. "and thank you for coming. I thought you might not come after our first encounter." he said as he looked at her and smiled.

She slowly stepped inside, "My curiousity got the best of me I guess..." She said nervously, clearly worried about what would happen

The beast chuckled, "yes, I can see that." he said as he smiled at her and closed the door slightly but kept it slightly open so that she could see that if she wanted to she could run out of there. "now then how about if we head into the library, it is one of my favorite places in here. We can talk there and relax as we get to know each other." he said as he smiled at her and then started to show her the way to the library.

Alexi followed after him, looking around at the castle, her eyes wide with amazement, "Wow." She breathed out. She hadn't been able to see the castle fully until now, and though clearly old looking, it was still fascinating

The beast smiled at her, "yeah it is nice in here, I keep it in top condition." he said as he looked at her and lead her into the library. But I like this place here. He then smiled at her and sat down on the couch he had in there, "now then you said you had a few questions." he said as he looked at her.

She continued to stand, "Um yes.. I did, if it's alright if I ask them that is." She glanced around at the library, it was so big! She didn't think she had ever seen a library that big before

The beast smiled at her and then patted the couch at the furthest place from him. "sit down, I assure you that I dont bite." he said as he looked at her, "and it is fine to ask. INfact I would like to talk to you for a while, I haven't spoken to someone in a long time." he said as he looked at her.

Alexi hesitated before sitting down on the far end of the couch, was she dreaming? Was she really talking to this... this.... creature? ANd was he talking back? "Oh... Uh.. Alright... Um... Well..." She suddenly couldn't think of any questions... she was too nervous

The beast looked at her, "if I remember correctly you asked me how long i had been the owner of this place. In truth I have forgotten how long but I have watched the world grow. It is amazing to see how humans have evolved." he said as he looked at her.
