Jack gave him a look."take a wild guess...",he said and sighed."we have a big problem and needto get to the hospitalfast!"

Jack nodded and also ran tohis dule runner.'me too",he said worried andthen tookoff for town.

Yuseiglanced back at Edward."hows she holding up?'

Crow took off after Jack, racing off at top speed.


"She's staying strong, but she's lost a lot of blood." Edward replied. "You sure we'll make it?"

Yusei nded and the Star dust dragin landond just outside of town."Kalin youll have to take her from here...."

Yusei looked to him."Im not the only one who needs help",he said then blinked hearub runners aproaching."i think ive just found our way into town"

Yukina foucused on staying awake andsighed.Kalin...is it a good thing that cant feel the pain anymore?",she asked softly.

Kalin's blood ran cold. "No, I don't think it's not." He said. "Hang on as well as you can, we're almost to the hospital." He gunned the throttle pushing his Duel Runner to top speed. The hospital was in sight, but Kalin still wondered if they would make it in time.


"I can see them," Crow said. "Yusei! Ed! You two all right?" He called.

Yusei grined some."asalright as we can be ....we need a lift into town"

Yukina nodded rested her head onto hisback."okay ... I promise I will ........."

Edward blinked. "Wha?" He asked.

"What's with that look?" Crow asked. "Legs don't actually grow back you know."

"Shut up, orangie." Edward replied. He bent down and rolled up the left leg of his pants, revealing his auto-mail leg. "This is something calld Auto-mail. They're artificial limbs that still allow the same range of movement as a natural limb."


Kalin came to a sharp stop once he'd reached the hospital. He carefully picked Yukina up off his Runner. Hang in there... he thought desperately.

"Hurry! I need a doctor!" He said once he was inside with Yukina. "Please...she's lost a lot of blood. She needs help!"

Yusei blinked lookinga t Edwards leg."where would I get it?"

Jack grinned."its like a siborg....."

A doctor in the room turned and his eyes widened seeing Yukinas state andlooked to the staff."bring me a streacher quick!",he yelled and wnet to Kalin."what happened to her,and howlong hasshebeenloseing blood?"

"I have no idea what that is," Edward sighed. He turned to Yusei. "There's auto-mail mechanics all over. The town we were in the other day, Rush Valley, is pretty much the mecca for auto-mail mechanics. My friend Winry is one."

"So, in other words, if you loose a limb, it can be replaced with this auto-mail." Crow said.

Edward nodded. "In a nutshell, yes." He said. He held up a finger. "But, the surgery is painful, and it can take up to two years for rehabilitation." He rolled his pant leg down and stood up. "I forced myself to recover in half that time, and after I'd had both my left leg and my right arm replaced with auto-mail."


"I--I don't know. A few minutes, five maybe, I'm not sure." Kalin replied. "We'd gotten into a fight with someone, she protected me. She got stabbed in the stomach."

Yusei's face brightened."do you think you can pull some strings?",he asked hopefully.
