Sasuke noticed that the girl in front of him frowned slightly. "What was that all about?" thought Sasuke as he looked up hearing that Hinata would fully support their union. She, however, did not know if the other people that were coming to the meeting would be the same. She had no idea, and neither did Sasuke. So the only thing that they could both do was pray. Turning his gaze towards Hinata he got out from his seat and looked at her as he bowed deeply to her in respect. Straightening up again he said,"I am glad that you respect our union, and that you support both Naruto and myself. Since we both have been invited to the meetings coming henceforth I was wondering if I could be of any service as of right now or until the other delegates arrive. With that being said he sat back down awaiting Hinata's answer.
Hinata thought for a moment before shaking her head. "No. We already have everything prepared." she said, a light smile still on her face. "Besides, I couldn't ask you to do anything. After all, you're our guest. It wouldn't be right of me to ask you to do anything." Her gaze dropped down to the table in front of her. "All I can really say is for you to enjoy your time here and if there's anything you need, don't be afraid to ask."
Sasuke listened to the woman in front of him feeling kind of bad that he couldn't do anything to either help Hinata or her family, or occupy his own time. Glancing at Naruto he said,"You know this land pretty well. Is there a town nearby that we can walk around that is safe to pass the time. Or do you think we could ask Hinata for some horses and go riding somewhere. Or do you think that that is too dangerous?"
Naruto raised an eyebrow lightly. Hinata was sitting right there.. So why could Sasuke just ask him herself? But he didn't say anything about it as he thought. "Well... I think it may be dangerous, but there is no way I'd ever let anything to happen to you. Besides, there is a town about an hour walk from here and if we take horses, we should get there faster." the blond said. He turned his attention to the girl sitting across from them. "You think we could use some horses?"
Hinata nodded her head slowly. She didn't like the thought of Naruto going out if there was somebody after him, but she knew there was no point in trying to talk him out of something. "Yeah. Of course. I can have them ready to go shortly." |
Sasuke was glad that the blonde agreed that it was a good idea. He knew that it would be dangerous, but right now what he wanted right now was to get away from the woman in front of her. To say that he was jealous was a massive understatement, and he needed to get away with Naruto right now. He bowed to Hinata as he stood up and walked out of the double doors and out of the hallway. He knew that he was getting rather agitated, but he hoped that it didn't show.
Naruto glanced over at Sasuke when he had stood and he stood as well. The blond shot a smile at Hinata, who returned it gently returned it as she watched him leave. Naruto raised an eyebrow lightly at Sasuke once they were out of the room and the doors were closed. "You okay? You left there pretty quickly." he said.
Sasuke continued to walk down the hallway, as he still dragged Naruto along with him. He was barely aware that the other male was saying anything until he stopped to look at him. "N-no," he managed to stutter out. "There's nothing wrong." Sasuke was completely lying, and he hoped that Naruto didn't pick up on it. He knew that the blonde not only swore his loyalty to him, but he also confessed that he was in love with the other male. However, that still didn't deter Sasuke from feeling like he was somehow inadequate for Naruto. "Honest," he continued. "It's nothing, really."
Naruto frowned lightly. He could tell that something was bothering Sasuke, so why was he denying it? "Well... okay..." the blond said, his tone of voice showing he didn't believe the other. "If you say so." He put a light smile on his face to reassure Sasuke in whatever it was that was bothering him. He was silent for a second before gently taking hold of Sasuke's hand. "Let's go get us our horses so we can get out of here for a bit."
Sasuke was glad that the blonde didn't press the matter any farther as the two of them continued down the hallways towards the stables. It would do both of them good to get out of the estate, even if it was just for a little while. Sasuke knew that when all the delegates got here, his freedom and his time would be limited as well, and that meant that he would be spending little to no time with the blonde, except for at night, when they shared their bed together. Sasuke was happy that the blonde was leading the way as he glanced down at Naruto's hand wrapped around his own. He smiled as they left through the double doors and found themselves outside. Heading towards the stables he heard the neighing of the horses and smiled again. He loved being outside.
Naruto wished that Sasuke would tell him what it was that was bothering him. But he didn't want to force him too if he didn't want too. So he remained silent, keeping a light smile on his face. As much as the blond wanted these people who were coming over to support their union, he wasn't looking forward to having Sasuke spending so much time together. He pulled his hand out of Sasuke's hand as they entered the stable so that he could get up on his horse. "Alright! Let's go!" he exclaimed, his smiled growing slightly.
Sasuke continued to walk with Naruto as they entered the stable. Sasuke loved the stables. He loved all kinds of animals, horses being one of his many favorite. He walked over to one of the stablehands there and had a brief conversation as the stablehand nodded to him. Sasuke looked over at Naruto and said,"He said that we could take any horse that we wanted except for the ones in the last two stables." Sasuke went over to some of the other stables and looked in as he unlatched the door as he walked in. He soon came out with a pure white horse. "Naruto, go and pick one. I am going to go saddle up."
Naruto nodded and scanned over the horses that they were allowed to use. His attention stopped on a jet black one and he smiled lightly. The blond brought the horse out of the stable and quickly saddled it up before pulling himself up onto it. He directed his attention to Sasuke as a smile formed on his face. "OK! Let's get going!" he exclaimed, enthusiastic.
Sasuke smiled that he as he saw that Naruto had chosen a jet black horse. He had always loved those colors. It also reminded him of the yin yang. Naruto had light colored hair and a jet black horse and he had a pure white horse while he had darker colored hair. He laughed a little as he swung his leg around and sat on the horse as the horse adjusted to his weight. "Coming," said Sasuke as he smiled at the blonde. It would just be the two of them for a ride through the countryside to a small village.
The smile on Naruto's face grew slightly at the sound of Sasuke's laughter. It was a beautiful sound to the blond's ears and he hoped he could hear more of it once they get everything situated. He tugged on the reins of his horse, leading it out of the stable. He was going slowly now, but he hoped that once they were outside the gate, that maybe they could go faster. Naruto loved speed, the feeling of wind in his hair. But he wasn't going to go that fast if Sasuke didn't want too. "Hpw fast would you like to go?" he asked, looking over to his Prince.
Sasuke continued from a walk into a trot, but the spitfire that he was on seemed to want to go into a canter. He glanced over at Naruto and said,"Fast." Sasuke really didn't know how fast, fast was, but right now he wanted to feel the wind in his hair.
Naruto smiled when he heard that Sasuke wanted to go fast. "Aright!" he exclaimed. He nudged his horse's side and it speed up. He didn't wan to go fast just in case Sasuke's horse couldn't keep up. But if he got passed, then he'd be sure to speed up.
Sasuke smiled at the blonde as he prodded his own horse in the side a little bit as it began speeding up. He loved the wind in his hair and he laughed out loud as he flung his arms into the air as he closed his eyes letting the swift breeze caress his face. His horse loved to run apparently and for that Sasuke was happy. He opened his eyes as he looked behind him to see where Naruto was. Suddenly his horse reared backwards flinging him to the ground. He landed on the ground as he let out a startled cry as he looked around and saw that the path in front of him was engulfed in flames.
Naruto smiled lightly, loving the sound of Sasuke's laughter. It made him feel great and a large smile formed on his face. His eyes widened though when the horse flung off his prince and he pulled on the reins roughly, pulling his own horse to a stop as he jumped down. "Sasuke! Are you okay!?" he asked, concern clearly showing in his voice as he crouched down next to him.
Sasuke didn't know what was going on. One moment he was flying at what seemed like faster than the wind, and the next moment he was lying on the ground as he was coughing and choking because the wind got knocked out of his body. There also happened to be a large half circle of fire in front of him, to which the origins were unknown. Sasuke managed to get into a sitting position with the support of Naruto as he looked around. "I think so," he said as he coughed up some blood into his hand. He quickly wiped it on his pants before the blonde in front of him noticed. "What was that?" he said in reference to the half ring of fire in front of the two of them.
Worried still showed on Naruto's face, even though Sasuke said he was fine. It wasn't that he didn't believe him, he really wanted too. It's just that not a lot of people who fall off a speeding horse like that are okay. He looked around cautiously when Sasuke indicated the fire. He couldn't pass it off as a random forest fire. It was too accurately like a semi-circle. Fires don't normally do that. The only logical conclusion that he could come to is that the enemy was choosing to strike now. "I'm not sure.. But please be cautious." he warned, trying to detect any sign of the enemy.
Sasuke nodded and then looked around trying to discern where the fire had come from. For it to be a forest fire wasn't even probable. It was too confined to be a normal fire of any form. It was crafted in a semi circle. If only he had been paying attention to where the fire had originated from. "I think we should head back before anything else can happen." Sasuke shakily got to his feet as he found his horse again and mounted it, turned around, and started to move in the direction back to the compound.
Naruto nodded and watched Sasuke get up, worry still showing on his face. So much for their trip.. It didn't really matter to him whether they went or not. He only was going because Sasuke had wanted him too. So he wasn't very disappointed about having to turn around. The blond pulled himself back up onto his horse and followed after Sasuke, being sure to stay behind him at all times. He didn't want to get in front of him in case the enemy did attack. This way was easier for him to defend.
Sasuke continued to ride as he mentally went through jutsu hand signs in his head in the event that they had to fight at all. Sasuke hadn't used any of his fire jutsus or lightning jutsus in a while, so hopefully he wouldn't be too rusty when using them. As they continued to rise there was a high pitched sonic boom sound that went streaking passed them and blew over some of the trees in front of them. Sasuke stopped immediately causing his horse to rear a little bit, but this time he was ready to stop. "Naruto," said Sasuke. "What is going on."
Naruto pulled his horse to a stop when the trees in front of them toppled over. He looked around hesitantly before looking over at Sasuke. "I think the enemy is attacking." he said. "Sasuke, you need to go find a spot to hide while I take care of them. Or, on second thought, get back to Hinata's. Her guards will be able to protect you."" he said. He wanted Sasuke to get out of the way to avoid accidentally being hurt. The blond knew he wouldn't be able to live with himself if something were to happen. Plus he'd be able to focus better on the fight if he knew that he was safe.
Sasuke listened to what the blonde was saying, but was rooted to the ground as he looked at the trees in front of him and the fire behind him. "Naruto," said Sasuke as he looked at his blonde lover. "I don't want to leave you, but I trust you." He ran up to him and hugged him as he gave the other male a deep kiss on the lips. Breaking away from him he looked at him and said,"I will await your return." With that being said he swung his legs over his horse and began galloping back to the compound. He knew once when he got there that he would tell Hinata and that she was surely to send soldiers to help Naruto.
