Margaret stopped as well, a bit paranoid. She really didn't want to be attacked again.
Mewtwo continued looking around. "Stay here." He vanished to go investigate something.
Aleron glanced over at Margaret, a little worried. |
Margaret shook her head a bit, indicating she had no idea what was going on.
Aleron shrugged and stayed where she was. "This is weird."
"This has been weird for the last four days," Margaret pointed out. "That's nothing new by now."
"No, but this is getting even weirder. I mean, we're traveling with a legendary pokemon right now." Aleron shrugged. "How many people can say they've done that?"
"About as many people as the ones who can say they got across an entire continent in ten minutes," Margaret replied. "Let's hold off on adding up all the weirdness just yet. I get the feeling it may just get worse."
"I wouldn't be surprised," Aleron grumbled. "Ah, well."
"Let's just see what happens," Margaret said. She glanced around. Mewtwo was taking a long time...
Mewtwo returned a few moments later, looking rather upset himself. "We need to find them."
"Find who?" Aleron blinked. "The person or people who stole the eggs." At that Aleron froze. "What eggs?" she asked carefully. "Their eggs. The others." |
Margaret was speechless for a moment. Who could possibly be that stupid?
"Do we have any idea where to start looking?" she asked. She didn't want to be sent on a wild-Pidgey chase. |
"It would have to be someone who could afford to do that," Aleron said, forcing herself to think logically. "Or a group of people. Probably a group."
She paused as a thought occured to her. "Haven't there been Team Rocket sightings recently?" |
"If they've been in this region, I wouldn't know," Margaret pointed out. "They got chased out of most of Kanto, nobody's seen any major activity for a while."
"It sounds like the sort of shit they'd pull," Aleron said, her eyes narrowing.
"Do you know where to find them?" Mewtwo looked between the two of them. "Not a clue. But I bet we could find them with the right bait." |
"In Kanto, they were mostly after technology, I think," Margaret said. "They tried to take over Silph Co." She paused, blinking. "...Some people think they were never completely chased out."
"Well, there's an idea." Aleron looked over at her, raising her eyebrows. "You could always try to investigate that."
"I'll see what I can do," Margaret said. "There are some places in Silph I can't get into, but it can't be all that hard to sneak around the place. There are teleport pads all over the upper floors."
Aleron nodded. "Yeah. I can look around, see if I can find out anything about Team Rocket in this area."
"Well, I can take the Magnet Train back to Saffron," Margaret said. "They know me in Silph, for the most part, so by the time anyone realizes I'm where I'm not supposed to be, I could probably be in the Director's office by then."
Aleron chuckled. "Sounds good to me. Hopefully I'll be able to find Team Rocket by then, see if I can get anything on them."
"Alright," Margaret said. At least now they had a plan.
"I will take you to the train," Mewtwo said.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Aleron asked. "I mean, you'd kinda make a big commotion in the city." "Perhaps you are correct. I will take you to just outside the city, then." |
Margaret's hand automatically went to her belt, looking for one of her pokemon and then she remembered she left her Noctowl at home.
"Right, Noctowl is back home..." she mused. "I need to remember to get her when I get back to Saffron. She knows Fly." |
"Are you ready to go?" Mewtwo waited somewhat patiently.
Margaret nodded.
"Yeah," she said. "Let's go." |
