"I can help with that," Aleron said with a big grin. "It was relaxing to work on him. Besides, he appreciated it."
"He likes it," Margaret replied. "I'll ask next time, but as near as I can tell, it's like a massage for him."
"Mmmm, massage." Aleron grinned. "Nothing better than a hot bath and a massage. For me, anyway."
"Remind me, next time we're in Kanto," Margaret said. "There's a small bath house on Cinnabar, at the base of the volcano, it's amazing."
"That sounds amazing." Aleron grinned.
"You know, I never did get that Houndour..." |
"We'll find you one," Margaret replied. "I'm sure you can find them all over the place, at night."
"Once we're back on the mainland, we can. I dunno why I haven't run into one before." Aleron shifted her pack as the egg warmed through it just to the point of being uncomfortable.
"No idea," Margaret replied. "They run all over out around Saffron. I bet if we asked around, we can figure out where else they live."
"Yeah. It shouldn't be too hard to find them. They're pretty common in some areas." Aleron shrugged.
"Yeah," Margaret agreed. "While we're near the coast, though, I want to see if I can find a Staryu. A Starmie would be great, but a Staryu would work."
"Yup, it would." Aleron stretched briefly. "Well, I don't mind spending time looking around, so take as much time as you want."
"Alright," Margaret replied. She leaned over so she could get a good look at the ocean. There wasn't much by way of ocean when one came from the city, so the novelty never really wore off for her.
Aleron chuckled and let her relax and watch the ocean. She was fine just listening to everything around them.
Margaret stared out over the water. It really was relaxing, which was welcome after the last few days.
After the boat ride finally ended, Aleron got up, stretched, and stayed near the beach. She didn't have any plans, so she figured they could spend the night in town.
Margaret followed Aleron off the boat onto the shore near Olivine City.
"Now what?" she asked. "Wander about the beach, or go into the city?" |
"Wander around the beach for a while before going into town. So you can see if you can find a Starmie or a Staryu."
"Sounds good," Margaret said, adjusting her bag on her shoulders.
Aleron nodded and just walked along the beach idly, keeping her eye out for any pokemon.
Taking off her shoes, Margaret set them on the sand, along with her bag, and rolled up her pants. She waded into the water a little, looking for the Staryu she wanted.
Aleron just walked along the beach, not looking for anything in particular.
Margaret carefully moved rocks and poked around in the shallows. Finally, a Staryu spun out of the water and faced her. She grinned and released Exeggute. It was a short battle.
Aleron turned to watch the battle, grinning. And hey, they were right by a pokemon center too. All they had to do was walk fifty feet into town.
Margaret waited until the pokeball stopped shaking before she picked it up. Her Exeggute swarmed her, chattering, and she praised them for doing such a good job.
"Come on," she said, turning to Aleron. "What say you to heading to the pokemon center?" |
"I thought you might say that," Aleron replied with a smile. "Come on, let's head over there."
She waited just long enough for Margaret to get her shoes on again before she started walking. |
