"That's kind of the point," Aleron teased right back. "You know, sunshine, bright light, the whole bit."
"Smartass," Margaret teased, rolling her eyes.
Aleron grinned. "Public service," she said, still grinning. "Now come on. Let's get packed up and get going."
"Working on it," Margaret replied. She was almost done packing her things. She would have to shake the last of the sand out later.
Aleron sighed as she realized how much sand was going to be in everything, but she didn't say anything. She just waited, leaving her two pokemon out for the time being.
Margaret recalled all of her pokemon but Espeon, and then turned to Aleron.
"Ready?" she asked. |
"Yup. Let's head out." Aleron started walking, heading through the city. She left Jolteon out so he could play with Espeon.
Margaret walked with her, glancing at the two pokemon every so often. The two chased each other, on and off.
Aleron just laughed and shook her head at the two, smiling a little. She didn't say anything, just let them play.
"They look happy," Margaret murmured to her. "Though if we end up with any Eevee eggs, you're taking them. I'm not sending them back to my parents."
Aleron snorted. "If we end up with Eevee eggs and I take them my parents will either kill me or thank me. We have two breeding pairs at the moment."
"And I live in a city with parents who seem to be doing experiments on people," Margaret replied. "Not ideal."
"That's true," Aleron said after a moment. "You know you could just keep on for yourself. Raise one of them."
"Maybe," Margaret replied. She grinned. "Would be just my luck if I raised one and it turned into an Umbreon."
Aleron snorted. "Well, then you'd have your dark-type," she teased.
Margaret rolled her eyes.
"I guess it would be interesting, if nothing else," she said. |
"It certainly would." Aleron shook her head as she watched them.
Margaret watched them, too. The two pokemon were just so adorable together.
Soon they were through the town and Aleron kept walking, just looking around. She didn't see anything troublesome. Yet.
Margaret was glad they hadn't run into anything yet. Still, though... The area seemed a little too quiet.
Jolteon was the first to notice. He growled, low in his throat, and his fur stiffened into spikes.
"Uh oh," Aleron muttered when she saw him. "Looks like we're going to run into someone." |
Espeon didn't growl, but her forked tail started to swish back and forth, and Margaret knew her well enough to know that she was trying to get a feel for the surroundings.
"Seems like it," she replied to Aleron. |
"Let's go take a look." Aleron started walking, heading over there. A few team Rocket grunts emerged from the trees and looked at them.
"Hey, look! A couple of little trainers." The first grunt grinned. |
Margaret blinked when they saw the Rocket Grunts. That was interesting. What were they doing out in the middle of the woods? Her hand started going towards the pokeball on her belt that held Metagross.
"Let's teach 'em!" The grunts all got out their pokeballs, all four of their pokemon. Jolteon and Vulpix both bristled.
