Two Golbats, a Weezing, and oddly, a Drowzee. Interesting. Margaret changed her mind and released Exeggute instead. Her team was almost idea for taking on a poison-oriented group, so she wasn't too worried about the Golbats being part flying.
Vulpix and Jolteon worked well together, and they both focused on defeating the opposing pokemon. Aleron wasn't concerned.
Espeon and Exeggute had worked together before, and worked well together now, so they were able to take out their two opponents easily. Margaret wasn't worried about that. Poison types didn't bother her at all.
Aleron couldn't help but smirk as the grunts exchanged fearful looks and recalled their pokemon before they ran off.
"That was... odd." Aleron suddenly hissed as her egg acted up, almost burning her. |
"That was really odd," Margaret agreed, recalling Exeggute. She saw Aleron jump and put the fire egg down. "What's wrong?"
"It just got really hot," Aleron said, watching steam rising from her bag. Nothing caught on fire, thankfully, but it looked hot. "I don't know why, but all of a sudden it just got really hot."
"Weird..." Margaret replied. Taking her bag off her shoulders, she checked on the ice egg. "This one hasn't reacted at all..."
Aleron frowned as she looked at the egg. "That is weird. I don't know why it's reacting."
Margaret shrugged, and then glanced around. "Maybe its parent is close by?"
"Oh I hope not..." Aleron glanced around nervously. Maybe the parent was around, though. The egg was certainly reacting to something.
Margaret kept glancing around, as well, but she had the distinct feeling that they wouldn't know if the parent was around until it was practically on top of them.
Eventually the egg cooled again, and Aleron picked up her pack with a little frown.
"Well, that was weird." |
"Yes it was," Margaret agreed. She still looked around warily. "Should we keep moving?"
"I guess so."
Aleron had just picked up her pack when a loud caw from overhead made her jump and look up. Moltres was circling overhead, and looked pissed. |
Margaret jumped, too, and looked up.
"That's not good," she managed to squeak. |
Aleron put the pack down and practically scrambled away. Moltres dipped down, managing to get the egg on the first go, clutching it and flying away with another caw.
"Umm... Okay then." |
"Well..." Margaret said after a moment. "One down, seven to go?"
"No kidding." Aleron sighed. "Well... Any ideas where to look for the next one?"
"No," Margaret replied. "I stumbled over this one by accident." If she had to guess, though, she could probably think of one or two other places to look.
"Okay. Well, let's just keep looking around and see what we find." Aleron went to go pick up her pack, glancing around. "Which way?"
"Since this egg was the wrong color to be Articuno's, I think it might be Suicune's," Margaret said. "Where would be the best place to find Suicune?"
"One of the Towers, I would think," Aleron said with a little frown. "We might as well start heading back towards the nearest one, and then just keep looking around. Suicune has been known to wander around too."
"Then let's head that way," Margaret replied. The egg in her bag hadn't reacted at all, and judging by the way Moltres' egg reacted, she figured they would have a fair idea as to when the parent Suicune would be close.
Aleron nodded and kept walking, glancing around every once in a while. She didn't want to run into anyone else right now.
Margaret felt paranoid, too, and with good reason. The legendaries were all pissed off, and she didn't want to somehow set them off and make them try to kill her again. Four tries was quite enough for one lifetime.
