Margaret jumped slightly and blinked up at him.

"Studying," she said carefully. She was about a third of the way through the report.

Studying what? Mewtwo looked as imposing as ever, but he sounded a little more curious than annoyed.

"...You," Margaret replied cautiously, looking up at him to gauge his reaction.

Mewtwo blinked. For what purpose?

"To understand a bit better," Margaret replied. "I understand some things just simply because you're psychic, and most psychic-types think about the same. I understand other things because I grew up around Silph Co. and my parents are scientists." She shrugged a bit and gestured to the report. "I want to understand how those two bits of information fit together without asking invasive questions."

I see. Mewtwo didn't sound upset, fortuately, although he was rather curious what the report had to say about him.

"It's kind of fascinating, to be honest," Margaret commented as she turned back to the report. "Mildly unsettling, at times, but still kind of fascinating."

Mewtwo nodded and returned his attention to the egg in her pack again. It has not become active yet?

"Not that I've noticed," Margaret replied. "But according to the report, Mews are supposed to be playful and a bit tricky sometimes. Or were, as far as anyone nowadays understands."

Mewtwo pondered that silently. This would be... interesting to say the least.

When no more psychic comments were forthcoming, Margaret turned her attention back to the report. Eventually, she ended up falling asleep with it in her hands, about half-way through.

Mewtwo stayed there through the night, though he stayed back a bit from their actual camp. It would be interesting to see how things progressed from here, after all.

Aleron woke up first, only a few minutes before Margaret did, groaning quietly and pulling her arm over her eyes to block out the sunlight.

Margaret woke up with her face burrowed into her pillow in an attempt to keep out the sun. She groaned quietly when she realized there was something warm and furry resting against her forehead, and she tried in vain to push it off of her while mumbling incoherently. Then she paused when she realized that Espeon was draped across her ankles like usual, and couldn't possibly be sleeping on her pillow at the same time.

Wait a second... she thought. She pulled her face out of her pillow, and her eyes met with a pair of bright blue ones. She blinked.

"Holy shit!" she yelped, flailing. She flailed hard enough that she ended up throwing herself off of her cot and onto the ground, although her eyes never left the little, impossibly adorable Mew sitting on the pillow.

Aleron jumped when Margaret yelped, and she sat up quickly, looking for trouble. "What? What's going on?"

Which is when she noticed the Mew. Instead of flailing, though, she just kind of froze. And stared.

"It was sleeping on my face!" Margaret said shrilly, not thinking entirely straight yet. There was a Mew. And it was sitting on her bed. And it hadn't been there the night before. The little pokemon seemed to giggle and it floated up off of the cot and over to Margaret.

"Mew!" it chirped cheerfully, snuggling into her lap.

Aleron had to coo at that, just a little. She couldn't help it; it was adorable!

"At least it's cute," she said, trying to placate Margaret some. "And happy."

"And legendary," Margaret added, looking at Aleron. "The most legendary of legendaries." She did have to agree, though, it was absolutely adorable.

Aleron shrugged. "Eh. That we can deal with eventually." She scooted closer to get a better look at the little Mew. Vulpix huffed and very pointedly got in her trainer's lap.

Margaret nodded cautiously, still looking at the Mew. Then she blinked and looked around. Hadn't Mewtwo been around the night before? She hadn't seen him leave again, but he did have a habit of vanishing at odd times.

Mewtwo had not left, in fact, but was just around. He wasn't quite sure what to think of the little thing, after all.

Once Mew had decided that it had had enough of snuggling up to the humans (because it knew what humans were, since the humans knew they were humans and thought of themselves that way), it got up from the lap of the one it had claimed (see? it knew all the important things, like that it was sitting in a lap and that pokemon claimed their humans!) and went to find the next-strongest psychic signature in the area. So it popped itself in front of Mewtwo.

Mewtwo blinked at the little one floating in front of him. He still had no idea what to do with it. So he just looked at it.

Mew blinked back and then giggled and nuzzled Mewtwo happily for a moment. Yay, they were almost just the same!

Mewtwo almost freaked out a little at that. It was too happy and cute and fuzzy. And he still had no idea what to do with it. So he cautiously extended a hand to it.

Mew chirped brightly and grabbed his hand with both of its little paws. It was having fun meeting new pokemon, and this one was almost just like it! Bigger, yes, and a different color, but still almost the same. Close enough.
