Osanna nodded and got up slowly, looking around. What was this place? It was all weird, and it smelled like a big city...

She frowned as she started looking around more carefully. Apparently they were in a park. A rather shoddy park, too. Great.

Where are we this time?

"I have no idea," Naomi replied, looking around. The rather rundown park they were in seemed normal enough, which actually put her slightly on edge. She couldn't sense any of the others around, which told her that it was just her and Osanna this time. It looked like they were on their own for this one.

Osanna nodded and started walking cautiously, looking around. So when something flew at her face, she froze.

If she'd been able to shriek, she would have. Instead she just stared in shock.

It was okay that Osanna didn't make a sound. Naomi jumped and muffled a shriek for both of them. She hadn't been expecting anything to come at them from out of nowhere, and she wasn't expecting whatever it was to be glowing, either.

"Who're you?" it demanded, putting tiny hands on tiny hips. His, Osanna realized. It was a tiny glowing male with wings. She blinked.

Naomi blinked too. It spoke.

"Um..." she started. She glanced at Osanna, and then back at the tiny... person. "I'm Naomi, and this is Osanna."

The thing darted around them, sniffing at them and looking suspicious.

"Don't recognize you," it said, its voice almost too fast to follow. "Whaddya want?"

Osanna blinked. Can I poke it?

"It might bite you," Naomi replied quietly to Osanna. She didn't take her eyes off of the little glowing thing, though. "We kind of just want to know where we are," she said to him.

The thing eyed them both. "To the Za lord!" he finally declared. A few others darted out and swarmed the two girls, clearly excited at the prospect of more pizza. Osanna looked rather bewildered.

Naomi was just as bewildered as Osanna. There really was no other word for it. She had no idea what was going on, and was even hesitant to move from her spot, lest she step into the flurry of glowing lights and get smacked in the face with them.

The fairies all started herding the two towards Dresden's apartment, which Toot had found and actually remembered.

Osanna looked around when they were left at the bottom of the staircase, looking at a large, solid-looking door in front of them, the fairies all gone.

Um. What now?

"I have no idea," Naomi replied. "Should we knock or something...?" The door looked solid enough that she doubted it would even transfer a knock all the way through to the inside.

Osanna shrugged and decided to throw caution to the winds. She knocked sharply on the door a few times. And then hid behind Naomi when the door was wrenched open.

Harry blinked as he looked at the two girls in front of him, both looking rather confused. "Can I help you?"

"I hope so," Naomi replied. She was kind of surprised anyone even answered the door. "We have no idea where we are or how we got here or why the little glowing things brought us here here." She paused when she felt the flow of energy around the man standing at the door. At first glance, he was completely human, but there was something very strange about his energy. It wasn't an unpleasant kind of strange, but it was very different, not at all something she was used to sensing. And there was a lot of it.

"The little glowing things...?" Harry blinked. "Oh, you mean Toot? They're fairies." He looked them over and frowned when he couldn't quite identify them. But Toot had brought them to his door, which meant they were probably okay. Probably.

WIth a sigh, he moved aside. "Come in," he said.

Osanna had just barely stepped over the threshold when she spotted Mouse and Mister. She had a brief moment to consider which one to greet first before she went for Mouse, grinning hugely. The big dog wagged his tail back at her.

"Fairies?" Naomi repeated. She turned that over in her mind for a moment before shrugging a bit and nodding. "Okay, I'll buy that." She'd seen stranger, anyways. Hell, she WAS stranger, in this case. She followed Osanna inside, and didn't reach out in time to hold her back from descending upon the animals. She rolled her eyes. Typical Osa.

Harry looked very confused when one of the two started greeting Mouse as if they were old friends, rubbing behind his ears and letting him sniff her. Mouse seemed quite pleased with her, rumbling a little approving growl.

"Um. Sure I haven't met you before?" he asked uncertainly.

"Very sure," Naomi replied. She kept an eye on Osanna and the dog, but she really wasn't all that worried. Osa was, unsurprisingly, good with animals. "I'm sorry we were kind of dropped on you like this..."

Harry just nodded and shut the door, sitting in his chair. "So, what can I help you with, exactly?"

Once Osanna was done greeting Mouse, she stretched up to say hi to Mister, who was perched on top of the bookcase. He sniffed her fingers and allowed her to pet him.

"I'm not entirely sure," Naomi admitted. "Things have been... kind of crazy lately for my friend and I, and I'm not even entirely sure what's going on." One of her hands went to play with the blue in her hair, a little nervously. It was an unconscious movement.

Harry nodded. "Why don't you start at the beginning?" He had the feeling this would take a little while. Not that he wasn't used to that sort of thing, anyway.

"Alright," Naomi said. She paused for a moment, trying to figure out where exactly the beginning was before deciding to just start the story from the night that she and Osanna found their little group in the woods. She tried to tell it as clearly as she could, but she knew there were some parts that were just too weird to be believed, and some parts that just went it one too many circles.

Harry looked at her for several long moments after she'd finished speaking. Then he nodded.

"Alright," he said. "Well, you're in Chicago, now."

Naomi blinked.

"Interesting," she said. The world they were in must have been a close parallel to their own, since she knew their world had a Chicago, but she was sure it wasn't the same one. She'd have known if people with this strange new energy were around. "I can't help but notice you don't seem to have a weird-shit-o-meter going off yet," she added.

Harry shrugged. "This is weird, sure, but not nearly as weird as some other things I've dealt with. Besides, you haven't tried to kill me yet."

That brought Osanna up short, and she looked at Harry, really looked at him, while Mouse sprawled himself across her legs where she was sitting on the floor.
