Niko understood better, having guessed that they had a classification system and that was what they were referring to.

"Well, then. Anyone you know have that kind of talent?" Kaeler raised an eyebrow. Might as well ask, in case someone wanted them gone.

Naomi shook her head slowly as she thought about it.

"Not that I know of," she replied. She glanced at Osanna. For all she knew, Osa DID have a friend like that. She wasn't going to assume.

Osanna shook her head, frowning.

"Well then. I'd ask if your parents know anyone, but I don't know if you'd know." Kaeler shrugged. "Any enemies you can think of? Someone who might want to get back at your parents or something?"

"I don't think so," Naomi replied. "It didn't start with us, remember. There were others, first." Besides, her mother was human, so unless it was her father's mate behind everything, she didn't think it was anyone related to her parents. She blinked. Wait a moment. "Okay, no, Niobe has a grudge against my mother, and it's kind of understandable, but I don't think she has that kind of skill." She could be wrong, but still. Typical ice-elements didn't have dimension-jumping powers.

"It doesn't have to be your parents. I'm sure they know lots of other people, who know people who know people. That's the way it works." Kaeler shrugged.

Osanna paused. That made sense, actually. She knew her grandfather knew a lot of people. But still, why would someone do that?

"Maybe..." Naomi replied doubtfully. If someone wanted to get back at her father, there were three better options than Naomi, and their names were Andromeda, Cassiopeia, and Orion. And she didn't really think anyone besides Niobe had a grudge against her mother. Still, it made sense in theory. She glanced at Osanna. "What about you, any thoughts?"

Osanna shrugged. Dunno. I know my grandfather knows a lot of people, but no one I can think of that knows how to world hop like this. Besides which, I don't know why they would bring others over first. She shrugged.

Ione looked at the two with an eyebrow raised. She didn't know sign language, but Naomi clearly did, so she waited for some sort of translation.

"I can't think of anyone who knows it, either," Naomi said. She sighed. "I think we've hit a bit of a chicken-or-the-egg issue... We don't know anyone back home who can do it, and we can't ask anyone till we GET back home, but we need to find someone who can do it before we CAN get back home."

Osanna sighed and nodded. Of course nothing was working.

"Well, you could try asking around to see if anyone around here can jump like that," Kaeler said with a shrug. "Might as well check."

"We can try," Naomi agreed. She wasn't sure how much longer they would be in that world, but it was worth a shot.

Cal glanced at his brother. Looking for people who could open ways between dimensions? That didn't sound good...

Kaeler nodded. "Good luck with that. We don't know many people here. There's one guy that might be able to help you, though. He's older than anyone I've ever known."

Niko sighed. Robin. Of course. Everything went back to Robin. Freaking puck had his fingers in more pies...

Naomi glanced over when she heard Niko sigh, and a couple of dots in her mind connected.

"If you mean who I think you mean," she said to Kaeler, "he sent us here."

"And a lot of freaking good that did," Cal grumbled. He was thinking what his brother was thinking, although there were more of the slightly-homicidal thoughts thrown in for some extra spice.

"Ah. Yes, that would make sense." Kaeler sighed. "He is a rather troublesome man."

Rather? Osanna snorted.

"I think 'rather' is a bit of an understatement," Ione commented. She'd been quiet the rest of the time, just listening, but that was something that just needed the extra bit of commentary.

"He's not so bad," Kaeler protested. "He could be worse."

Well. That was true at least.

"Not by much," Ione replied. She couldn't help but grin a bit, though. She knew how Robin was by now.

Naomi just listened to the playful banter and glanced at Osanna. She hadn't realized that she was related to anyone who could act so normal.

Osanna shrugged, just as mystified. She'd met Naomi's father once before, and had not enjoyed the experience.

Kaeler rolled his eyes. "Anyway, he would be the most likely person to know what's going on. Unless you two know anyone?" He switched his gaze to Niko and Cal. Niko raised his eyebrows slightly before shaking his head slightly.

"No. We don't."

Which pretty much meant that they made the trip for nothing. As much as Naomi appreciated finding family, she still wanted to go home.

"So now what?" she asked.

"We can make space here if you want to stay the night," Ione offered. She looked at her mate, as if daring him to argue with her.

Naomi glanced at Osanna, and then at the two guys.

Osanna shrugged. Up to you. I'm fine with it.

Niko glanced at Cal, considering. They very rarely stayed with people they didn't trust, and these two could always give the girls a ride back to New York. So he didn't say anything.

Cal glanced back at his brother and shrugged slightly. Nothing had attacked them yet, nothing seemed inclined to eat them, and they hadn't been chased out at all yet. Sounded okay in his book. Still, he'd do whatever Niko wanted.

You're the one who gets bothered by the temperature differential, Naomi pointed out to her friend. We can go if you want.

I'm okay, like I said. Besides, I don't really feel like staying in the car for another couple hours. Osanna shrugged.

Niko glanced at Cal and raised an eyebrow, silently asking what he thought.

Personally, Cal didn't mind either way. He knew his brother wasn't going to get any sleep at all if they stayed the night, and he wasn't, either, which wasn't unusual if they were anywhere but home. He shrugged slightly. At this point, it wasn't a big deal whether they stayed or not.

Alright, Naomi replied. Maybe we'll stick around a little longer before we decide, then. She wasn't necessarily sure she wanted to stay the night, but a few more hours didn't sound all that bad.

Osanna nodded her agreement and settled in, pulling her knees up to her chest and getting comfortable. Might as well just relax for a little bit.

Kaeler raised his eyebrows at Naomi, clearly waiting for an answer.

"Sticking around for a few more hours wouldn't hurt," Naomi ventured, glancing at the brothers just to make sure. "It's nice to meet someone kind of familiar after everything this past week." And hey, maybe she could learn things from her aunt while they were there... She wouldn't get her hopes up about it, but hey, it could happen.

Niko nodded slightly and glanced at Cal. Perhaps this would be instructional, at least. Even if his brother didn't pay any attention, he was.

Osanna glanced at Naomi and rolled her eyes, clearly able to tell that her friend was hoping for a few tips or something. Silly ice people.
