"Mmm." Ed ate one more before he dove into his own sweets, tearing a sweet bun in half and offering her the other half. Hey, he could share, when he wanted to.

Naomi accepted the bun, and then reached into the bag and tore a brownie in half, offering it.

"Fair's fair," she said.

Ed grinned and took the half a brownie, starting to munch on it. He wasn't sure if he liked it more than the strawberry or not, but it was definitely going high on his list from now on.

"Anything else you want to see? Central's got just about any type of shop you can think of."

Naomi grinned.

"I can think of a lot," she replied. "Pretty shiny things distract me, but I can't think of anything I really need right now."

Ed nodded, keeping in mind the shiny comment. He knew a place only a block or two away, and if he knew Al, his brother was having too much fun teaching Osanna still. He'd probably have to go find them eventually and make sure they ate at some point.

Naomi was content to follow Ed around for a while, just enjoying being in a different place for a while. It was nice not to think about home for a little bit.

Ed glanced up at the sky when it started to get dark. Okay, now he knew he had to go find the other two and drag them away from their alchemy.

"Come on, we'd better find the other two."

Naomi nodded and sent out a pulse of her energy to find Osanna. Unsurprisingly, she found her near the library from before.

"That way," she said, gesturing in the direction.

Ed nodded and headed that direction. "Hey! Al! Time to get going for the night!"

Osanna looked over at them, unsurprised to find them there, and got to her feet. Ow. Okay. Too many hours studying. Whoopsies.

Naomi grinned a bit and went over to her friend.

"Try walking around some next time," she teased. "Learn anything good?"

Al looked up when he heard his brother and gathered up the books quickly.

"Is it that late already?" he asked.

Osanna nodded. She'd already learned a ton. After a moment, she looked over at Al, biting her lower lip. She'd made a few things, but she was still half-convinced Ed would just scoff at her. And she wasn't sure Naomi was okay with this yet either.

"Yeah. Maybe you should look into being a teacher," Ed teased with a grin. "Come on, we'll pick up food on the way back."

Al rolled his eyes.

"Only because you wouldn't have the patience to teach anyone, Brother, so you'd make me do it," he said.

Naomi tilted her head a bit when her friend hesitated.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

After a moment, Osanna held out a little metal sculpture she'd made to Ed, a transmutation circle in the middle of a reaction, with delicate swirls coming from the circle.

Ed blinked, looking impressed. "You did this earlier?"

Osanna nodded, flushing, and handed over Naomi's. Naomi's gift was a glass ball inside a glass ball, a thin layer of nothing between the two, with a few colors thrown in. I figured you could put ice in the middle or between the two layers and it would make a good decoration. She handed over the note hesitantly, still red.

"Osa, this is amazing," Naomi replied, taking the glass gently. Touching a finger to the outside of the glass bubble, she slowly filled it with her energy until the inner bubble was suspended in the middle, and then solidified it into ice. It wouldn't last long, since there was no water inside it to work with, but for the moment, it worked. "Like this?"

Osanna grinned and nodded, pleased. She hadn't quite figured out how to get water inside there yet, but she was sure she'd figure it out sooner or later. And then it would be even better. As it was, the colors from the glass stained the ice different colors as light moved through it all.

"It's beautiful, Osa," Naomi said, hugging her friend. She would have to be careful with it, since she knew glass broke if it was exposed to temperatures too extreme, but she still liked it.

Osanna grinned and hugged her back. She'd hoped Naomi would like it. Then her stomach rumbled a little at her and she grinned sheepishly.

Ed snorted. "Come on. You need to eat in between all the studying. You'd better be careful or you might actually get as good as us." He grinned though, clearly not upset with that thought.

Naomi rolled her eyes, but nudged Osanna and handed her the bag with the brownies and strawberries in it.

"Those are yours," she said.

Osanna nodded and grinned when she pulled out a brownie, starting to munch on it as they walked over to go get food and bunk down for the night in the dorms.

The rest of the evening was casual and relaxed, which Naomi appreciated. What she didn't appreciate, however, was what happened the moment she touched the Book the next morning to put it into her bag. She hadn't said anything to it, she'd barely said two words that could even potentially be misconstrued as 'instructions,' and it still ended up whisking her and Osanna away again.

Osanna blinked a few times and sat up slowly, looking around. They looked like they were in a workshop of some kind. She blinked again and got up, looking around for Naomi. Because really there was just no good way to describe the giant metal thing in the workshop.

Naomi was already staring at it.

"Osanna, please tell me you see the giant robot," she said carefully, pointing at it and looking at her friend.

Osanna nodded a few times. Yeah, she saw the giant robot. But where the hell were they?

She moved around the robot carefully, looking around. Clearly they weren't in their world, but they weren't with the Elric brothers anymore, either.

Naomi walked with her, stepping carefully. This wasn't any sort of world they'd been to before, not by a long shot. This was something completely different. The strangest part was that every so often, she felt the tiniest bit of youki brushing her senses, but she couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

Osanna paused when someone opened a door off to the side, a little bit of youki tingling along her senses.

"I'm just going to work for a bit," he called back to someone else before he moved further inside. The instant he saw the two girls, though, he'd whipped out a gun and had it aimed at them. "Who are you and how did you get in here?"
