Naruto didn't understand why Sakura was so concerned about how Kakashi feels about him. After all, it has never been as if she cared that much about him. But how could she not know how old he was? They've been teammates for years and she has yet to realize that he was only a few months younger than her. But he was shocked when she slapped Kakashi. That was unexpected. "No! He's not bothering me." Naruto said, quickly defending his sensei. "Why are you acting like this?"

Sakura glared at Kakashi "because he left us for three years Naruto..he can't just walk back into our lifes and expect us to exept him." "I was on a misson! It's not like it could be helped! It was orders from the hokage." he defended himself. "I love Naruto Sakura. I've gone so long holding back and I can't do that anymore." he looked at Naruto. He couldn't look at Sakura. Why was she being so creul he felt tears forming in his eyes but held them back. He always considered Sakura and Sasuke his good friends and now was losing them. It wasn't fair.

Naruto narrowed his eyes at Sakura and crossed his arms. "You knew that Kakashi has been gone because of the Hokage. How could you be so mean about it?" he asked. Sakura had always seemed like such a sweet and caring person to him, so he didn't really understand this horrible behavior.

She busted out crying and fell to the ground. She sobbed "I-Its not fair N-Naruto. I missed s-sensei so much and he p-promised to be back in one year. H-he's always l-late I-it's not f-fair." Kakashi looked suprized and sat down beside Sakura. "I'm sorry it took longer then I said. The hokage told us one year, but the problems we were dealing with were much worse than we thought." he tried to hug her but she pushed him away glaring. "Your a-always late y-you lazy bastard." she crossed her arms and let out a deep sob. Kakashi sighed. He looked at Sakura and then to Naruto. He felt like he'd been stabbed. He glared at Sakura. "You may not know this but I have feelings too." he stood and walked away. He was NOT a bastard and would not take that kind of crap from her. He let out his tears as he walked alone.

Naruto felt bad when he seen Sakura crying. He knew it wasn't his fault, but he still felt bad. He knew that Kakashi has always been late, but he knew that it wasn't his fault this time. He wanted to comfort Sakura when she felt so bad, but he knew that if he tried, he'd more than likely be pushed away. So he smiled lightly at her, hopefully in a reassuring way, before turning and following after Kakashi. "Sensei! Wait up!"

"Not right now Naruto. I'll see you tomorrow at seven ok?" Kakashi's voice cracked as he spoke. He knew if Naruto saw him now he would probabaly relize he wasn't as string as he seemed. His eyes were red and tears flowed from them. He wished that he hadn't seen Sakura until after his date so he could enjoy today and tomorrow, but she always seemed to show up at the wrong times.

Naruto frowned and shook his head, even though he knew that Kakashi couldn't see him. He didn't like knowing that his sensei was upset, so he was going to help him feel better. So Naruto grabbed hold of Kakashi's arm to pull him to a stop. "I don't like seeing you like this. I'm not leaving until I know you're feeling better."

Kakashi put on a really fake smile. "I'm fine" he knew he couldn't fool Naruto but it was worth a try. "Sakura will get over it" he said this more for his own self than Naruto. "I'll be fine I just need sometime to calm down." he almost felt a little better just by seeing that Naruto cared so much. He stopped crying. "o yeah..I was walking you home." he grabbed Naruto's hand.

Naruto really didn't believe that Kakashi was fine, but he figured he might as well act like he did. He didn't protest to Kakashi grabbing his hand, but he was still pretty annoyed with Sakura. "She really didn't have any right to say those things to you." he said, hoping he was helping increase his sensei's mood.

He shook his head. "Sakura's probably just hurt." he shrugged. "She'll be fine in a day or two." he smiled now in much better spirits. "So..are you sleepy?" he knew that was a random question but who cared? "if not I could take you back to my place and we could talk or eat or both."he liked the idea of spending more time with Naruto and knew that Naruto would probably be excited by his next statement."I went for grocerys today and I got lots of ramen." he knew tempting Naruto with ramen would probably result in a yes.

Naruto thought for a moment. He wasn't really tired, but he was planning on getting up early the next day, so getting to bed soon would probably be a good idea. He was about to tell Kakashi that when he heard the mention of ramen. He smiled happily and nodded. "Yeah! That sounds like a great idea!" he exclaimed, very enthusiastic. How could he turn down the offer for some ramen?

Kakashi laughed. "I didn't think you'd say no to ramen." Kakashi took Naruto back to his place and made some ramen. This time paying attention so he didn't burn himself. He sat down and handed Naruto a bowl. Kakashi threw his mask and leaf headband onto a spare chair and stuffed his mouth. "mmm..ramen." he said this with a mouthful and went back to eating. He managed to finish the whole bowl in about ten minutes. When he was done he laid on the couch and yawned. He went in his bedroom and put on some shorts and a sleeveless undershirt. When Naruto was done eating he picked him up and sat him on the couch. Kakashi then sat beside him and snuggled up to him. He fell asleep within minutes and snored lightly.

Naruto happily ate his ramen, glad that Kakashi didn't burn himself again like he did last time. He was surprised how fast his sensei ate the food, but Naruto ate just as quickly. He knew that he should probably slow down when he eats, but it always just tastes so good that he just can't wait to eat it. Naruto was surprised that Kakashi had fallen asleep so quickly. He thought that they were going to talk. But he wasn't complaining. He sat there for about ten more minutes before getting up, being careful to not wake the sleeping man. He was close to falling asleep himself, but he knew he'd feel more comfortable if he slept in his own bed, so he smiled lightly at Kakashi before heading home.

Kakashi woke up at about seven that morning. He yawned and went to look in a mirror. He sighed. Jeez he looked bad in the morning. His hair was stuck out in strange angles and his eyes were half opened. He brushed his teeth and took a shower. After putting on some clothes he started getting ready for tonights date. He trimmed his nails and filed them down. Je then went to a barber and got his hair cut. It had been getting out of hand. He stopped by a florist and bought some pretty yellow,black, and red roses. He grabbed lunch and went back home. It was about three o clock in the afternoon. "Four hours." he Murmered. He called and made a reservation at the nicest place in the village. He got out his clothes and ironed them. "o my god I'm sooo excited." he squeled out loud. It was now about six. He jumped back in the shower. (he had been out all day and figured he needed another one.) he grabbed his clothes and put them on being careful to make sure he looked neat. He grabbed the flowers and headed to Naruto's house. He had rented a small corvette and arrived at Narutos door at exactly six fifty nine. He was a minute early. He was standing there flowers in hand in a black suit with a red shirt with a black bow tie. He also didn't have on his mask or headband. After all that would ruin his look.he wore a small black eyepatch to cover the sharigan. He smiled and rang the door bell. He squeaked in happiness as he waited for Naruto to awnser the door.

Naruto decided to sleep in late today, figuring he's been working hard enough that he deserved a little break. So woke up around noon-ish. He dragged himself out of bed and got some food, not really looking at what it was before he got dressed and headed to the training grounds. He smiled when he saw Sasuke was still there, training like always. So he challenged him to a battle, which lasted quite sometime before eventually ending in a draw. Even though he didn't win, he still was in a really good mood. He headed home, whistling quietly to himself. He got in the shower and let the hot water ease sore muscles before he got out. His attention flickered to the clock to see that it was getting close to seven, so he dug through his clothes to find the nicest clothes he had. He was sure that no matter what he wore, Kakashi was sure to look better. This was proven true when he heard the knock at the door and saw Kakashi dressed so nicely. A smile formed on his face when he seen Kakashi wasn't wearing his mask. "You look nice." he complimented, since it was the first thing that came to his mind.

Kakashi smiled and handed Naruto the flowers. "you look great! Better than I could ever look!" Naruto didn't have to try to look good and now that he was all dressed up it made him look even better than usual if that was possible. He felt really shy now. "Are you ready to go?" without really waiting for a response he picked Naruto up bridal style and carried him to the car. He gently sat him in the passenger side and then got in himself. He began to drive feeling his excitement rising so high he thought he was going to explode. When they got to the restaurant, Kakashi opened the door for Naruto. He then handed the keys to a man that parked the car for them and they were ushered to a table. The place was really nice. Kakashi had never come here before and was impressed. They had dim lighting with candles on the tables. To make it even better they had really nice wine. The tables had ivory clothes and red rose petals on them. A jazz band played a soft background music. Kakashi stared at Naruto for a moment. He didn't know what to say so he just poured Naruto a little wine. The wine was pretty strong and Kakashi didn't normally drink so he knew he'd have to be careful or he'd get drunk. More than one glass of this stuff would male him act insane. He fiddled with his fingers. He didn't know why he felt so shy all of the sudden. He glanced up and saw gai sensei a few tables away from them. He sighed. Of coarse..the one day he didn't want him around his arch rival was there. He hoped gai didn't see him but he wasn't so lucky. Gai walked over to the table and smirked. Kakashi could feel his temper rising slightly. Gai looked from Naruto to Kakashi and then grabbed a chair from a nearby table sitting down with the couple. "hope I'm not intruding." gai said this with a smirk. He grabbed the wine bottle and guzzled it down. "so,
Arch rival Kakashi...since when did you date your students?" he said it in a mocking way taunting Kakashi. Kakashi glared. "this is none of your concern now leave before I make you." Kakashi growled at Gai lowly so he didn't make a scene. Gai laughed and grabbed Kakashi's face in his hands. "aw..you look kind of upset do you need a hug?" Gai cackled at his joke. He kissed Kakashi lightly on the lips hoping to anger both Kakashi and Naruto at the same time. Kakashi pushed him off roughly and glared."stay away from me!" he said barley above a whisper. People from the other tables looked to see what was going on. Gai just wouldn't quit. He now moved over to Naruto. "hey darling." he lightly caressed Naruto's cheek causing Kakashi to lose it. He stood and dragged Gai outside. He punched him in the face. "If you EVER come near either of us even again I will kill you. Are we understood!?" Kakashi glared. Gai laughed. "you? Kill me? You forget your place!" Gai grabbed Kakashi and they began to fight. Kakashi used a substitution jistsu a few times, causing gai to punch random objects. Then he used clones and went at him. He was running out of chakara and Gai hadn't used any yet. Kakashi collapsed worn out. Gai had him now. Gai smirked. He went back in the restaurant and grabbed Naruto bringing him outside also. He pointed to Kakashi who was panting laying on the ground worn out. Gai laughed. "Your boyfriends such a wimp!" Kakashi stood back up shaking a little as he did so. "Why are you doing this? In my personal life I'm not your rival. Just leave us be." Gai laughed "hell no fool! You've already taken it to far for me to walk away!" Gai's left eye was swollen shut from Kakashi punching him. Gai hit Naruto in the stomach and then lunged at Kakashi. He move out of the way gracefully. He was tired, but still nimble. He grabbed Naruto and put him in the drivers side of the car. "Drive" he commanded now in the passenger seat. He was about to faint. "Naruto..go somewhere safe.." he fainted after those last words.
