((ok, this is the Gaara xTemari thread.))
Gaara sat on his unused bed and thought. he knew the next few days would be quite strange. Kankuro would be coming home for the first time in a few weeks and Temari was coming with him. He wondered how they had been. They had gone to a funeral for some family member, an aunt he thought they said. He had stayed home. He waited for the doorbell to ring. He was the same as always. Short, emotionless and a ginger. He wondered if his siblings had changed. Kankuro seemed to grow over night these days and Temari seemed to get more and more mature. Gaara however never changed. |
Temari stood at the stove like a statue. The only thing moving was her one hand that was swirling a spoon among a bowl of chocolate chip pancake mix. Her eyes were gently closed as she softly hummed a familiar melody. Her hand kept stirring absentmindedly. When the timer went off, her eyes opened and her free hand went to turn off the timer. She stopped her stirring and poured the mix little-by-little on a large skillet. The mix softly sizzled with its touch with the buttery heat of the skillet. She wondered when the others would finally come down for breakfast.

Gaara and Kankuro came down and were met with the smell of chocolate. Gaara walked up behind Temari and stuck a finger in the batter and then licked it from his fingers. When she was done he at six pancakes, drank two pints of milk, and then made himself an omelet. Kankuro stared in amazement as the little Ginger also downed six peices of toast and an apple. He then reached for Kankuro's food. Kankuro threw a spoon at him. "Hell no my food!" Kankuro shouted. This earned a dark glare from Gaara. Gaara could, and would kill anyone, so that glare scared Kankuro shitless. Gaara then ate all of Kankuro's pancakes as well. Gaara had never really eaten much and Kankuro wondered what was wrong with him. Gaara thanked Temari for the meal, but his face remained emotionless.

Temari glared at Gaara. "Gaara! Those were Kankuro's pancakes!" she shouted angrily. She sighed and before she was going to sit down to eat hers, she turned around and went back to the stove. "Great, now I have to make more," she mumbled angrily. She sighed. "Gaara, where are your manors?" asked Temari as she shook her head and started mixing another bowl of batter.
In a way, what had just happened was kinda comical. She smiled secretly and chuckled, but worried for Gaara. She wiped off excess batter off of her hands on her apron when she had finished pouring the rest of the batter into the skillet. She felt a bit tired. When she woke up this morning, she had no intentions of getting up. |

"Go eat yours before then get cold." he said it curtly so she knew he meant it. He didn't feel like watching her have to do that because he was so selfish. He also didn't want to be alone in the same room with her at the current moment. He had a funny feeling in the pit of his stomach and his heart fluttered irregularly. He finished the pancakes and gave them to Kankuro. He then went up to his room to dress. He put on his clothes and went for a walk. |
Temari smiled softly. "Thank you, brother," she said as she bent down to kiss him on his cheek. She sat down at the table and basically inhaled her pancakes. She had to get props to herself. They were actually pretty darn good. When she cleaned up the kitchen and the guys had gone their separate ways to do whatever is is that they do, she went up to her room to grab a book off of her shelf and headed down to the living room to read some more before she'd have to go to the store to buy groceries and decide what would be for dinner tonight. Somehow, Gaara kept coming to her mind. But why?

Gaara walked back in the house and saw Temari sitting in the living room reading. He sat beside her. His seafoam eyes wandered her face memorizing the look of it. She seemed deep in thought. Gaara had never been much of a hugging person, but decided he wanted to hug Temari and he did. "I'm sorry about the pancakes Tema." he said using her nickname. He really was acting odd. The urges to hug and the feelings that showed on his normally emotionless face. He grabbed a book that was sitting on a nearby coffee table and began to read it. "ewww....." he said after reading the first chapter. It was one of Temari's romance novels. "How can you stand these things?" he set the book down and decides to look at his sister instead.

"It's fine. I knew it would happen somehow." Temari giggled and grabbed the book back from Gaara. "For your information, brother, I enjoy these books. They're a good form of entertainment for me when I need it," she said. And realizing what she had just said, her face turned beat red and she hoped that Gaara hadn't taken what she said the way she was thinking. "So anyways. How was your walk?" she then asked, suddenly wanting a change in subject.

Gaara busted out laughing. "Entertainment you say..." his laughter was loud. He almost never laughed, but that had struck him funny. Little tears of joy brimmed his eyes and he held his side. He gradually stoped laughing and looked up. "So what kind of entertainment are these may I ask?" he inored the subject change. He also found that he didn't like the term brother anymore. "Temari...call me Gaara please...I would like that much better than brother."

Temari just blinked at Gaara. "Oh...alright. If that's what you want...Gaara," she said with a short giggle. "Romance wise. Us females need our fantasies to dream about. Men who love them for them..." Temari looked off in the distance, thinking what it'd be like to actually find a guy anywhere close to the type of guys she reads in her romance novels. "Why?" she then asked.

Gaara looked off into the distance. "Mmm Kankuro says I'm gay. That guys should think of naked girls and such...I've never really enjoyed that sort of thing." He shrugged. "All guys are jerks Tema..that's just a fact of life." he was very serious when he said this, as if it was the law of the world. And he really believed it to be true. He hugged Temari for a breof second and then thought. "Temari, what would you want a guy to look like?" he knew that was an akward question, but they shared akward moments so he asked anyway.

Shocked at the fact that Gaara was hugging Temari, she just accepted it and hugged him back, when he asked the question that he had asked, she just smiled and giggled. "Well I don't know...I can't really expect the one I'm supposed to be spending the rest of my life with to look like how I imagined him to look like. Maybe I'll answer with just that I would want him to look like a guy who looks cute, adoring, sweet, and kind to me. My mother always used to tell me I would see past people's faults so easily."

Garra hummed happily with a small dark purring sound thy came from his throat. His fox demon gave him small fox like traits. "Tema..am I ugly?" he had always wondered if he was. Most girls didn't like gingers and to make it worse he was short and had dark, raccoon like eyes and pale skin. He looked like a porcelain doll. He looked at Temari. She was gorgeous. She had blonde hair and fair skin with green eyes.

Temari laughed at this question. "You are most certainly not ugly, Gaara!" she said as she cupped his face in her hands, looking at him. "People think they dislike gingers because of their religion. You're a wonderful guy with an incredible set of good assets," she said with a smile, winking when she let his chin go. She grabbed her book, opening it back up to read more as she assumed that that was all Temari wanted to talk about.

Gaara smiled and hugged Temari. "You know I love you right?" he snuggled into her and kissed her cheek. "Your so sweet....I hope one day I find someone like you to spend my life with." he blushed and gently pressed his fingers together shyly. Maybe it wasn't so bad to like his sister like that.

Temari secretly blushed at what Gaara had just said. She just wrapped her arms around him and let him remain there for as long as he wanted. She was, after all, feeling a tad lonely. So what could be so wrong with this picture? She just smiled and giggled softly. "That's so sweet of you to say. But I'm sorry to have to tell you that there are no more than one person of each person," she laughed, kissing Gaara's cheek in return.

Gaara kissed her cheek as well. He made sure to get tue side of her mouth when he did, just to see how it made him feel. When it made him feel zapped he urged to do it again, but didn't. He sighed sadly. If she could read minds she would be so mad right now, cause honestly all Gaara wanted to do was kiss her. She probabaly didn't even like him like that. He blushed madly and felt his face heat up. "T-Temari..I-I....." he slienced himself. "Nevermind..." he said glumly.

Once again, Garra was having Temari blush madly. What was it about today that was triggering that feeling within her? When she felt him kiss the side of her lips, she honestly didn't know what to think of it. Did she actually want to kiss him? Or was she just confused...in the slightest? "Yes?" she asked as he stuttered slightly with whatever he was trying to say. When he said "nevermind", she sighed and nodded her head as she got up from the couch and to her feet. "I'm going to head to the store. Would you like to come with me? Get out of the house and away from here for a little bit?"

Gaara nodded "yeah...I think getting out would be good." He was still blushing and stared at the floor. He shuffled along behind her. "What do you need to get at the store?" he ask this only to strike up a non akward conversation. He was playing with his fingers and refused to look at Temari. He was feeling so odd and he wasn't sure what he should do. Should he tell her? He was pretty sure he understood what he was feeling, but didn't know if he had the nearve to ask Temari if she felt the same way. After all, he had lived with her, and had even called her sister. She was his very bestfriend and losing her didn't sound very appealing to him.

Temari smiled and got her purse as she slid her feet into her shoes. "Just some simple stuff for supper. Maybe you could help me decide what we should have for supper tonight," she said as she winked and waiting for him bu the door. She loved it when she was around him. It was as if he was the only person in the world she felt she could speak to equally and honestly.

Gaara ran to the door after slipping on some shoes. "ok..I'm not really hungry though...." he was glad the subject had changed, yet he wanted to know things. "So...do you have a crush? Who is it?!"

Temari just smiled and laughed as she locked up the house, heading to her car. "It's a secret," was all she thought she could really say. She sighed and got in the driver's seat and started the engine, soon putting the car in drive. How on earth could she tell Gaara that she did indeed have a crush...and it was him?

Gaara sat in the car looking down the whole time. "Temari...what of I have a crush on you? would you be mad?" je had finally gathered just enough courage to tell her that much. "And what if...it's a major crush and I leaned over and kissed you?" he gently leaned over and did kiss her.

Temari froze when she heard Gaara ask her this. She did not move for what seemed forever. Her voice caught in her throat and suddenly, she didn't know what to say. So when Gaara leaned over to kiss her and actually did kiss her, Temari found herself kissing him back. Her eyes drifted shut and leaned over so that her body was some-what facing Gaara. She placed a hand on his cheek until he would lean back.

A shy smile covered Gaara's blushing face. "S-so does that mean your not mad at me?" he looked nervous and felt odd. He was looking down and seemed so shy. He had always been so quiet, but now he seemed even quieter and he gently stroked her hair. "Do you like me back Temari?"
