( Sounds like it.Read a few that my local library has . Wish they had more than 3)
" It could be. I just have a bad feeling that they might try to use us against Alex and the others." Tracy said hoping she was wrong. |
(I usually buy my books from B&N. Just easier that way imho. If Alex ever catches a Harry Dresden, he would definitely help the young wizards in their spells since both series have similar ways of them using spells, although Harry uses more elemental/destructive/obvious spells)
"I hope not," Saphira said. "Although perhaps it would be a good idea to not be away from your new guards from now on, or at least for a long period of time," she finished speaking as she tried sensing anything out of place although she sensed nothing wrong or anyone that wasn't suppose to be there. |
( I'll have to look there or at Books A Million. The nearest B and N is 2 1/2 hours away. D: )
" You're right. I just hope they don't try to turn us against each other. Please be safe. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. " Tracy said. |
(ouch. What about ordering them online?)
"And I don't want anything bad happening to you Tracy," Saphira replied, wondering if that was what the scientists wanted to do...pit herself against Tracy, or use Tracy as a motive to do what they wanted. She shook her head lightly at that, not liking either scenario. Sighing lightly, she watched the sun set with her trainer and friend, hoping that they would still have times like this in the future, not knowing how much longer they could have peaceful times like this. |
(I could try that. )
" I better get going. I have an early meeting with the city council to see if they have a plan for the gym expansion. " Tracy said and gave Saphira a hug around her neck. |
"Could we fly back then? It has been a while since we've had a peaceful flight," Saphira asked and offered after Tracy ended the hug. She wouldn't mind the flight and she had a feeling that Tracy would enjoy it as well, just like she had in the past when she wasn't so busy.
" I would enjoy that. " Tracy said with a smile. She missed their peaceful flights togeather.
Saphira smiled lightly before getting as close to the ground as she could so that Tracy could get on.
Tracy smiled as she got on. She liked spending time with Saphira.
Saphira waited until Tracy was secure before taking off, taking a nice and simple ride back to where the both of them were now staying. It was a good thing that they left when they did though. A few minutes longer and they would have seen the scientists firsthand.
" Thank you Saphira. We should do this more often. " Tracy said with a smile.
"Agreed. It's nice to be alone with you, and I bet it helps that no one can reach you up here and ask you for your help. I think it makes for a good stress relief for you," Saphira said, knowing that the new responsibilities she gained did cause her to stress out once in a while.
"It does help. It seems i haven't had a moment of peace since I took over the gym." Tracy said.
"Sounds like you could use a vacation," Saphira said with a small chuckle.
" I do. The problem is where would I go? I have some time off coming up, but I want or be available if Alex and the others need us to help. " Tracy said.
"Didn't you give him your Bishidex number before he left?" Saphira asked as she descended towards the empty space near the gym.
"I did give it to him. " Tracy said. She smiled as they landed near the gym. She usually slept here since she worked late some nights.
"Surely for purposes like this, right?" Saphira asked, teasing Tracy as she let her friend get off.
" Right. " Tracy said with a giggle. "I'll see you again tomorrow afternoon. Maybe we can take a quick flight again. " Tracy said once she had gotten off.
"I would like that. Stay safe, okay?" Saphira asked although she also wondered if it was okay for her to stay here in this field or not.
" I will. " Tracy said with a wave and ran toward the gym side entrance. She knew this was the safest since she only knew about it. She got her card key and swiped it before heading on inside and setting the alarm for the night.
Saphira watched and waited to make sure that Tracy got inside safely. While she was glad that the Dragon Council chose Tracy to be the new leader of the gym, she sometimes wished that it was someone else who had the responsibilities thrust upon them. She was glad for her friend, she was, but sometimes she wished that they could go back to the days before. Shaking her head ruefully to get herself out of the past, she made herself as comfortable as she could before falling asleep.
One of the spies for the Scientists was able to follow Saphira and Tracy all the way to this entrance of the gym and made note of it so that the others would know about this. It seemed as if this was to a set of personal quarters rather than the inner workings of the gym, but he couldn't determine that without risking himself and his mission. Plus there was the fact of that blue scaled beast playing guard dog in front of the door in question, something he'd rather not try and disturb. |
Tracy got into bed and set her alarm. She hoped things would remain to be this calm.
Saphira slept peacefully through the night, her dreams uninterrupted by reality. If only she knew that this would be one of the few last peaceful nights she would get.
Tracy woke up when she heard her alarm and got ready for the day. She hoped the scientists weren't here. She knew that she would have to be careful.
