Max nodded . She hoped that at least the dragons would be safe from any harm that Bryce might have planned for them.

"Alright then, let's go," Alex said as he placed the pencil in it's holder built into the sketchbook before placing the book underneath his arm as he started walking, Nita and Max walking with him.

Bryce hoped someone would tell him what the council had decided to do. He didn't want to harm the dragons that were here visiting , but knew he would have to if they were against him.

Alex walked into the gym and saw Lena at the front desk. Walking up to it, he asked if he could talk to Bryce, saying that it was urgent.

Lena nodded and let Bryce know Alex was here. "You can go in now." Lena said .

"Thanks Lena," Alex said before giving her a nod. He wouldn't tell Bryce about her being a part of the Rebels before Nita, Max and himself headed inside to talk with Bryce.

" I'm glad you are here Alex. " Bryce said . " Do you have an idea of what is going on?"

"What do you mean? Are you talking about the dragons?" Alex asked.

" I am. Do you know anything about the council meeting or when it is?" Bryce asked .

"It already happened," Alex said, explaining what had happened while mixing in some lies along with the truth. He concluded by saying that the dragons would not help the Rebels...at least for the moment.

" So the dragons are on our side for now . You must convince them that the Rebels must be stopped ."

"I can try, but that's all I can promise," Alex said, inwardly smiling at Bryce's trust in him.

" I know I can trust you to do your best." Bryce said.

(I see your dragon collection is growing, I assume that's a good thing)

"Thank you. I know that your faith in me is not ill placed," Alex said with a small grin. "Anything else that I can help you with?" be asked.

"Not that I can think of right now .But I will let you know if I think of something ." Bryce said .

(alright. I particularly like the red egg with blue claw marks)

Alex nodded lightly as the three of them left the room.

( I like that one too . I can't wait till they hatch. )

Max was glad the meeting went well with Bryce .

Alex was glad that the meeting went well and that Bryce didn't suspect a thing. He just had to make sure that he could remember the lies that he told Bryce.

Max would mention the book when they arrived back at the inn. She knew it would be safer to talk there.

As they were heading back to the hotel, Alex wondered as to why the two females were looking for him. "Now then, was there any particular reason why you two were looking for me?" he asked.

" I found a book that has all the laws of the town in it . It also as some of the rules that the humans and dragons agreed to follow ."Max said .

"That sounds interesting. I'm surprised that Bryce didn't burn it," Alex said as they made there way back to the hotel room. "It sounds as if this would be like what the Dragon Riders would do," he thought out loud.

" I'm surprised too. Maybe he didn't know about it." Max said . She did find it strange that it wasn't destroyed.

"Maybe, or maybe not. This may be me just being paranoid but..." Alex started to say.

" What are you thinking the reason the book wasn't destroyed is?" Max said .
