Having solved the Rubix Cube three times by now, Arthur was getting a little irked when his boss suddenly shouted out something unintelligible. He sighed, stood, and walked over to him to see what the commotion was about, tossing the toy back onto the desk. All he saw was a bunch of lines and freaky looking things on a monitor, while his crazy boss mumbled to himself about how great it was.
Then he looked over to their captive and noticed she was waking up. The drug had obviously been pushed through her system faster than it should have, which was curious, but not all that important. Instead, he swung a chair around and sat in front of her, waiting for her to notice him. Eyes fluttering slowly, Yuuko realized that she wasn't in the mansion anymore. Her wrists were a little stiff, and she still felt kind of groggy. She was still completely clothed and unharmed though, so she figured that it was for something other than fulfilling a pedophile's deepest desires. Her eyes came to focus on the tan man in front of her, who was gazing at her rather strangely. "Uh, hi," Yuuko said, rolling her shoulders. "I hafta pee. Like, right now." Of course, Yuuko couldn't actually tell that, hence her dependence on the diapers and Pull-ups. The man smiled before shaking his head, gesturing towards her midsection. She deflated as she realized the most useful lie ever for this sort of thing was useless. "Fine," she mumbled, eyes darting everything with curiosity. "What am I here for anyway? Why did you kidnap me?" The girl's lie was actually a little cute. Blatantly obvious, but cute. "I gave you a pat-down before I brought you in here. I know about the diaper," he said, smiling slightly as he stood and retrieved a drink for her. "I have no idea why you're here though. See that man? He's my employer, and he wanted you here for some reason he didn't tell me." He shrugged. "Why don't you tell me about yourself to pass the time?" "Okay guys, this is how we're going to do this," Scott announced, standing next to the holographic map of New York. "As you know, Cerebro is being repaired right now, so it's out of commission, but the Professor assured me that Yuuko was still in New York. So that means we'll have to search ourselves. We're going to split up into four groups: two fighters and two trackers." He paused to let it sink in before going down the list of names. ...And the last group is Amber, Jean, Psyche, and myself. Let's go!" A few moments later, they were driving down the road, Jean and Psyche reaching out telepathically to see if they could pick up Yuuko's signature. |
Students nodded, and each rushed out running off in their groups. Yet Seth went alone, he didn't want to wait on anyone slow. He rushed out, and jumped on his bike, heading into the city trying to find Yuuko. He needed to make sure she was alright, he didn't like the idea that she could be hurt and scared all alone somewhere.
Amber nodded and rushed to his car. She ended up sitting in the back seat next to Psyche, as Jean had already taken the seat next to Scott. Amber scanned the area, trying to spot anything, yet she was useless until they ended up in the area where Yuuko was being kept. All she could do was hope either physic with them would find her. Jean moved to the car swiftly, and took the front seat. As Scott drove down the road, she kept a mental scan on the area, trying to pick up something. She sensed a little something, that might lead them to Yuuko. " Take a right at this next light" She said. She hoped Psyche had picked up on the same thing as well. |
"You're quite an interesting person," Arthur said, pouring their captive a glass of tea. Her hands were unbound, but she hadn't tried escaping once she'd been assured she wouldn't have been... ah... violated. Just the thought sent a blush up Arthur's face, but he managed to banish it before he turned back towards her. She took the glass gratefully, sipping at it while he spoke.
"My powers are quite different from yours," he said, nodding. "I can manipulate electromagnetic waves, phase through walls, and generally be a ninja. But I can't raise an army of the living dead. So you win." He gave a mock bow then, eliciting a series of giggles from his captive. As far as captives went though, she was pretty alright. Careful not to draw too much attention to them, Scott turned right when Jean said too, barely acknowledging Psyche's confirmation. At last they had picked up her mental signal. Honestly it had seemed like they wouldn't be able to find her with their previous lack of success. But they had the "scent" so they should be able to find her before something horrible happens to her. "Jean?" Scott asked, looking both ways before accelerating forwards. At least this was before rush hour. Lord would that have been awful. "Where to next?" |
" Down the street, past the next too lights, and then take a left." Jean chirped out. She had a link on the girl, but still it was a bit away, and so she couldn't spell out the whole area, until they got closer, and Jean could sense more. She just hoped they wouldn't be spotted before they could get close enough to the girl.
Amber kept an eye out on the road and surrounding area. She needed to make sure no one stared at them too long, if they did it could mean they were working with whoever grabbed Yuuko. She didn't want anyone to figure out they were on there way, until they were well into the building that Yuuko was in. It would be better this way, plus she'd be fighting them much on her own, until the car was parked, and the others could risk focusing on whoever tired to attack them. |
"I personally prefer straight up comedy, though I can see why you love horror movies," Arthur conceded. "The adrenaline is the best part, really. But I get that everyday, so horror movies wouldn't be anything new for me." His boss's sudden shout drew his eye, and he stood reluctantly. He was shouting something about needing to leave soon. With the girl. Apparently his tests weren't done yet.
"Do you mind?" he asked, looking over towards the small girl. She bit her lip before shaking her head. "If you want to leave a note, feel free. We're not kidnapping you forever, just until that loon is done with whatever he's doing." Shrugging, he started packing things up, helped by his boss's fervent actions. Nodding, Scott floored it, taking advantage of the mostly-empty streets. He followed the directions precisely, continuing to drive, albeit slower, while waiting for Jean to supply more directions. For some reason, his anxiety wouldn't vanish, and it was making him make rash decisions, like the speeding. They couldn't afford to stop right now. |
" Left, Right, down the street pull into parking lot, third building" where some of the things Jean said, when directing the rest of the group to the location Yuuko was supposedly at. Jean got out of the car, and moved to lead the group into the building.
Once at the place, Amber jumped out of the car and followed after the group. She really hoped Yuuko was here, and alright. She followed after the others, glancing around the area, not seeing anyone else yet. [[ Unsure what to have them do yet, sorry for short posts]] |
"Crap, they're here already," Arthur said, throwing the stuff into the van angrily. "I'll distract them for a bit. You did make my scarf and hood psychic proof, right?" The man's nod was enough for Arthur, who waved them on before making his way to the door. He barely heard the van leave before pushed on the doors with his electromagnetic powers, sending them flying out into the parking lot with a bang.
And then he was among his opponents. One of the girls was out a few seconds after the fight started, having been surprised to see him vanish right in front of her, only to pop back up a second later and kick her across the head. The other three would provide a bit of a challenge, but he wasn't worried. The last to hop out of the car, as he needed to shut it off, Scott was aware that they hadn't found anything yet. He started looking himself when he heard a bang, followed by the doors flying through the air. On impulse, he blasted one out of the air, sending it spiraling away. This meant he failed to see the hooded man sprint out, vanishing suddenly, only to reappear and knock Psyche out. A blast was fired at him quickly, but he... dropped through the ground and reappeared behind him. And from there it became physical, at least until Scott managed to throw him off and separate. |
" Yuuko seems to be moving away from this place" Jean started to say, just before the fight started. She was surprised to see Psyche going down. Jean watched Scott, trying to keep tabs on Yuuko, knowing to fight this battled, she;d have to let her link with Yuuko go, and they could lose their chance to find her.[[Can't make it to easy on them, lol.]]
Amber watched the scene, waiting for Scott to get the man away from him. She wouldn't be able to attack, as long as he was near Scott, her powers, could cause damage to her teammates as well. Once Scott had gotten away from the man, Amber, was sending water towards the man, trying to get him off his feet. If they could take him down, they might be able to get him to explain why they took Yuuko. |
Building up static in his hands, Arthur smiled at Amber before dropping his hands into the water, sending the electricity flowing back towards her. Then he hopped out of the water to avoid another optic blast. His next target was the other psychic, but her teammates did a fantastic job of keeping him away from her.
About ten minutes later, however, Arthur stood up straight, grinned, and then dashed back into the warehouse, aware of pursuit by the other mutants. He of course, just walked through the wall, but they wouldn't know that until they searched the place. Now he just had to hitch a ride to their rendezvous point. The fight was growing intense, and Scott was getting tired pretty quickly. He was surprised when the man started back towards the warehouse, giving pursuit before thinking that it might be a trap. Ironically, there wasn't a trap, but there was a lot of information. Memopads lay scattered everywhere, most with complex formulas and notes on them that only Beast would be able to decipher. But there was nothing here that said why she was kidnapped. So wrapped up was he that he failed to notice the note on the wall, written in Yuuko's childish scrawl. |
Amber eyes went wide, as the electric power came towards her. She shot up into the air, avoiding the attack. Very glad that today, she remembered that she could use the air to protect her. When the man tried to go after Jean, both her and Scott worked together, to keep the man away from Jean. Amber followed after him into the building, not thinking it could be a trap at all. She raised the ground, trying to get this man to stumble or something. She didn't want to lose what could be their only chance to follow after the man.

Yet Amber hadn't been able to keep up with the man, or even see where he had gone. She couldn't believe she lost tracked of him. She then noticed, all of the things around the room. Most of the things on paper she couldn't understand. She looked through them for awhile, till she found something that she could understand. It seemed like some note that Yuuko had written. " Scott, Scott" Amber called moving to find him to give him this note.

Storing the notes in a dirty old bag he found, Scott was completely surprised by Amber when she popped up behind him. He hadn't even heard her, to be honest. The note caught his eye though, and he took it gently, skimming over it before reading aloud. "'Dear, well, whoever finds this, I'm good, so don't worry. Arthur's actually a pretty cool guy. I was actually a little worried about being, y'know, kidnapped and all, but he's promised not to hurt me. His boss is a little crazy though. Honestly, don't be worried; he said he'd drop me off at the mansion when they were done doing their tests. Loves and huggles, Yuuko.'"
Sitting against the wall, he sighed heavily before looking up at Amber for a response."You got anything?" he asked. |
" Beside that, not anything I can understand. Just a bunch of notes, that have weird stuff on them, I put them all in a pile on a table over there." Amber said. She watched Scott for a few moments," Do you really think that she's alright and fine?" She asked. She didn't like it, there was no true chance they guy might return her. Yuuko sometimes was to naive when it came to things like this, and Amber was really worried.

"What do you think she meant by 'tests'?" Scott asked, staring at the ceiling. It was true that Yuuko would probably accept candy from a stranger. She was just innocent when it came to things like that; naivety was a cable-thick strand of her personality.
"I just worry about her like a sister, y'know?" he said, shrugging as he stood. "Do you think Jean will have a lock on her signature?" Today was not a good day after all. Scott's nerves were all wound up, and it was affecting him in a heavy way, though he'd probably be acting the same way if someone else was kidnapped from the mansion. |
" I have no idea, maybe these papers would tell us, but we need someone who can understand them. Maybe beast?" Amber suggested. Amber watched him, and nodded. " I know what you mean. I hope Jean has a lock on her. I really don't feel like leaving this to chance" Amber told him. At that moment Jean walked towards them. " I don't have one anymore, I lost it or they did something to cancel it out. Are there any clues here? Some that might help us find her?" Jean asked. |
"Yeah, that's actually what I was thinking," Scott said, standing before beginning to head outside. They were down there. Then Jean walked in, declaring that she lost her lock on Yuuko. "Shit," he swore, kicking a chair across the room. "We'll have to run this to the mansion. Maybe then we can get a lock. Did you feel what direction they were going?"

Jean shook her head sadly," I tried, but all of a sudden, I was shut out or something. It's not normal for this to happen. Though he was able to block her scent, so maybe whoever this is, knows details about us, and using that to his advantage." Jean said.
Amber followed after him, wincing almost when he kicked the chair. They were getting now where." Look, let's head to the mansion, maybe the professor, can tell us something or someone else has found something?" Amber suggested. She knew staying here, wasn't helping Yuuko at all. |
"Yeah, let's go. Psyche's in the car already, right?" Scott said, walking out of the warehouse to his vehicle. Hopping in, he made sure everyone was situated before peeling out of the parking lot, slowing down when he hit the main streets to avoid being noticed.
"Did the professor say when Cerebro would be done?" he asked over the howling wind. |
" Yeah, she's in the car. She came to just a bit ago, her head still hurts though." Jean told him. Jean followed after him, not really caring if Amber was following. Once they were all in the car, Scott was driving them back. " No, he hasn't mention it to me, when it would be fixed. I do hope it's soon, it might be our best shot at finding Yuuko.
Amber followed after the two, and got into the car. There wasn't much she could add to the conversation. She was worried about Yuuko, and upset she missed catching the guy who would have had an idea where Yuuko was taken. |
"Okay," Scott answered simply, continuing to drive in silence. Eventually, they made it back to the mansion, pulling into the driveway smoothly before hopping out. He barely waited for the others to get back before he darted inside, making his way to the sub-basement. Once there, he picked up a communicator and tried to get one of the other teams on the line. No luck so far.
He decided it'd be better to wait a little longer before trying again, so he instead walked over to the hologram and started fiddling with the controls. "So, what do we know about our enemy?" he asked, preparing to take notes. This would help them develop a strategy for the next encounter, something that they desparately needed. |
Everyone just nodded, it was a quiet awkward ride on the way back home. Once there, Scott was dashing back inside before anyone else could follow him. The others got out of the car and followed after him, each standing there waiting for him to speak to them. " Well it's clearly a team working together, at least two people" Jean said.
" The one we encounter, has some type of electric power, seem quick footed, and manged to get away undetected. " Amber said. She also felt like this guy had some insider knowledge about them. They were also able to get Yuuko to trust them, and it worried her. |
"Okay, that's great: team; unknown members, possibly greater than two," he said, writing it on the board before adding Amber's points as well. "Do we know if the other guy had powers too? That's kind of important." In a way, this was helping Scott deal with the fact that he was powerless for now. All he could do was come up with a game plan to get her back, but without knowing where she was, it was sort of useless. They would certainly have to figure that out.
