"What You Don't Understand"

Kakashi Hatake, one of the teachers at Konoha Academy for children of all ages and types. Many have abilities, some do not, but, in this school everything is however they chose to make it. There are rules, teachers, principles, and loads more. The only difference is that most of the teachers are considered to be ninjas, however, no one really believes it.

The bell rang for class to be over with "Naruto, will you come here after everyone leaves?" Kakashi asked, he had watched the young boy sit in class and not take notes. When there was a pop quiz, he hadn't answered one question, all he did was doodle, and yet the kid managed to have a C average in the class of a 72% Kakashi didn't like how bad that Naruto had been doing lately, he wondered if maybe Naruto asked a certain pink hair girl out and she rejected him for the thousandth time.

Naruto stared blankly out the window. He was glad he had a seat right next to it. The class had just gone done taking a test and his mind just wasn't focused on it. He had finally had the nerve to ask Sakura out again this morning. Even though he got rejected, she could have at least done so nicely and not laugh at him. The laughter probably hurt more than her saying no.

When the bell rang, he jumped up, snapping out of his daze and heading quickly to the door. He froze mid-step though at the sound of Kakashi's voice. 'Crap... Am I in trouble?' he thought, going through his mind. No... He hasn't really done anything for him to get in trouble for today.. So what could it be? He took a deep breath before approaching the teacher's desk. He stood there patiently, waiting to see what it was he wanted. He could always just start guessing what it was about, but he found that doing that tended to get him in trouble.

"I would like to ask you about your grades, why do you have a C average in your classes but you know you are better than that" Kakashi spoke looking at the papers in his hands, Naruto's was on top and hardly nothing was written but his name and some doodles. Kakashi wasn't sure, but, he was about to find out or he was going to, either way. "Naruto, you didn't even answer one question on the pop quiz, I saw you take notes two weeks ago. At this rate you won't even be able to pass the basic test on this chapter"

Naruto was silent for a long moment, thinking about how he should answer that. He didn't really have a good answer as to why he wasn't doing any of his work... Except for the fact that he didn't want to do it. He shrugged lightly to answer the question and slid his hands into his pockets. "I dunno..." he said, letting his attention drift over to the window. He wanted nothing more right now than to be outside and having a great time with friends. "... I guess I just didn't really understand the material."

(sorry, not sure if I am on or off, there is a storm coming as well as I am trying to charge my battery)

"You don't understand it?" Kakashi asked wondering what about mathematics that he didn't understand. Ignoring the thought in his mind, Kakashi then spoke "Well, since your grades could do better I am going to have to ask you come after school each day this week until you get it" it was only a Monday anyways.

((Aw.. Blasted storm. I hope your power stays on!))

Even though Naruto wasn't paying complete attention, hearing that he had to stay after school immediately made him turn to Kakashi, eyes wide. "What?! No way! I can't stay after! I have plans!" he exclaimed. Did Kakashi really think he could make Naruto stay after just because he wasn't doing good in the class?!

(I have a battery laptop, so I am good)

"Oh and what is more important than schooling? Do you know that you could fail each of your classes and then you will never be able to fulfill your dream of being Hokage. Let alone an ANBU" an ANBU was the closest thing to Hokage as you could get, there were different levels to different educations depending on what you chose.

Naruto frowned and crossed his arms. He knew that he needed to do good in his classes, but he seriously had trouble focusing. He already knew everything that he needed to know, so he really didn't see what the big deal was if he decided not to do a few of his assignments. He honestly thought Kakashi was overreacting to everything. "I know that, alright! I am trying... I just think it'd do better if we had class outside."

"Why should it be moved outside? Give me a good enough answer and maybe it will happen" Kakashi spoke sitting there as he put the papers down on the desk faced down so that none of them could be seen just out of habit. It was nice outside, beautiful, and the weather was amazing.

Naruto sighed and thought for a moment, trying to think of a good answer. He knew he needed to word it right otherwise the idea will be dismissed completely. "Well... The classroom is kind of stuffy." he said, shrugging lightly. His attention drifted over to the window again. "It's so open and nice outside. I think the other students will benefit with going outside as well."

Kakashi listened to Naruto "I will do this only if you come after school tomorrow to talk with me about what you don't understand and to make up the assignments you need in order to pass" Kakashi spoke making sure Naruto would promise this to him.

Naruto smiled happily at the thought of having class outside that he started tuning out most of what Kakashi had said by the end of it. He nodded eagerly, not really knowing what he was agreeing too, but honestly couldn't care less right this moment. "Sure! That's fine by me." he said, his attention flickering to the window once more before looking back at his teacher.

"Remember, tomorrow afterschool. Until then, go and have fun" Kakashi had his own plans anyways, he had a date with Kurenai since she asked him out and he wasn't about to turn her away. But Kakashi didn't see her like that, only as a f**k buddy or a friend nothing more than that. He wasn't in the mood to have kids, just like his father and yet some how is father had Kakashi and with another woman of course. Though he didn't rememeber his mother at all.

Naruto nodded his head absentmindedly, flashing a smile at Kakashi. "Right!" he exclaimed, turning and heading out. He hoped that his friends were still waiting for him. They had left without him before, but he was apologized to, multiple times, when he finally caught up with them. He was so relieved when he got outside and saw Kiba and Shikamaru waiting for him and he happily went over to them.

Kakashi stood walking over to the window, he was watching Naruto with his friends, Gai came into the room and looked out of the window as well. "Seems like you like the kid alot" "he is one of my students" "I meant like like, not friend way Kakashi" "I believe you know how I feel about that Gai" Gai moved closer to Kakashi so that there was no space between them "I know more than anyone else will, going out with Kurenai tonight? You should cancel..." Gai whispered to him. (Lol wanted humor)

Naruto laughed at something Kiba said before glancing up at Kakashi's room. He felt kind of bad with running off like that without fully listening to what Kakashi had to say, but he was in a hurry to get outside. So he turned his attention back to his friends and ran off with them, eager to meet up with the others. Maybe they would all go out and get some ramen!

"Gai, I'm going out with Kurenai and aren't you dating one of your students?" Kakashi asked as he pushed Gai away. Gai had been heard to be going with one of his students but no one really knew who. "No, Lee is going with that Hyuga girl now" Lee was known to go both ways as the rumors were told. However, he seemed to lean towards the girls more ever since Hinata had said yes to him over a month or two ago.

Gai stood "You know he won't pay you any attention, he has his friends" "Gai, I don't know what you are talking about, now if you will excuse me, I have a date with Kurenai" Kakashi spoke as Gai turned Kakashi by the shoulders to face the door and into the hallway where Kurenai was with Asuma. "That Kurenai?" Gai spoke as Kakashi saw Kurenai and Asuma kiss in the open with no one else around. Kakashi was speechless as Gai stood there next to him.

"Hey Naruto what's the matter?" Kiba asked adding "You comin or what?" when Naruto caught up to them, Lee and Hinata holding hands came up to them "Hi everyone, what is going on?" Lee asked as Hinata smiled waving a little "You two still going on out?" Kiba asked "Two months starting tomorrow, where are you guys going?" Lee asked.

Naruto smiled as he caught up with his friends. Shikamaru looked close to falling asleep on his feet. But then again, when does he ever look completely awake? He couldn't really blame him though. He'd find it hard to sleep too if he had to stay in a house where there was lots of yelling. He looked over to Lee and Hinata when they approached and he tilted his head curiously. When had they started dating?... For two months? That was the first he's heard of it. Or, if he's been told before, he just forgot.

But he was happy for them. They were both great people and they deserved to go out with someone who would treat them nice. Naruto hoped that person would be Sakura for him, but so far that hasn't been the case. He shrugged and put his hands in his pockets. "Not sure yet. I'm sure we can find something to do though!"

"Oh and Naruto" Hinata spoke up as Lee hushed her "Not yet Hinata" "But she asked us to say something" "that is not our place butterfly" Hinata stayed quiet liking her nickname that Lee had given her after they started dating some. Sakura and Ino were out shopping for dresses after school had ended. They heard about a school dance and instantly left to get the dresses before others could try. "Well at least say something about the dance" Hinata spoke and Lee shrugged "Alright, alright, there is a dance on the weekend before Halloween, you are to dress up costume wise. No limits as long as you are wearing something, thats what they said" it would be next weekend if you wanted to get technical.

A smile quickly grew on Naruto's face at the thought of dressing up. He could already imagine the different costume choices that he could do~ This was going to be fun! "Alright! This is going to be great!!" he exclaimed, excitement clear in his voice. Halloween was and always has been one of his favorite times of the year and absolutely nothing could bring him down from his good mood now.

"I can't wait to wear my outfit" Hinata smiled already knowing what she was going to be. Lee started talking about all the different types that people could wear or try on to look good and they had a good week before it came to happen. It was also known that if you attended you would get extra credit for it. Kakashi had already planned on going by himself, Gai was going to take him there or travel along his side, but, then again that was Gai.


"Now do you still want to go-" Before Gai could finish, Kakashi locked and shut the door then walked up and kissed the other teacher, they had a thing before and even went out secretly, though they couldn't find a way to win the battle over who was the man in that relationship. (lol)

Hinata moved to Naruto whispering "Sakura wants to go to the dance with you, she is going to dress up as a cat girl" hinata went back to listening to Lee and to let Naruto's mind wander, He had been trying to convince Sakura to go with him, maybe it just finally paid off.

The moment Naruto heard that Sakura wanted to go with him, he immediately perked up. Yes! Finally! Sakura was finally agreeing to go out with him!! But.. What if she was just saying that so she could laugh at him later?.. No.. She may have rejected him time and time again, but she wasn't that cruel. So he just had to believe that her wanting to go with him was genuine.

But for the time being, Naruto needed to figure out what he was going to wear. If Sakura was going to be a cat girl, what should he go as? He wanted them to match some, but not completely. He pushed it to the back of his mind. After all, they still had plenty of time to figure everything out.

Gai was planning on going as a cheetah (just more covered up than you think lol) Kakashi had chosen a vampire almost going to a formal event. So many others and choices to make, each day would slowly go by, Naruto did his time, so did other students who wanted to do something stupid. Sakura along with the other girls teamed up to put the dance together. Lee and the other guys hung out until it was that night before the dance.
