Aura walked with him, although she had to take two and a half steps for every one of his. She wasn't having too much trouble keeping up, though, but that might end up changing later on. It was still fairly quiet for the time of day, and there weren't many people out and about, which she appreciated. She could deal with little kids. People, not so much.

Hisoka let the two go off and do their exploring. The weekend trip was mostly for Kris and Shippou after all, he was just tagging along. Besides, he planned on getting to know Kris on his own time, and in his own way. He'd noticed that she didn't keep her claws the way they should be... That would be his first plan.

Sesshomaru didn't like people much either, so when they got to busier parts of town, he took a few side streets, or went through alleys. He wasn't concerned. Anyone that tried to attack him was obviously suicidal. And, since Aura was with him, the protection extended to her, as well.

Kris and Shippou went out wandering around the grounds for a while, and came back nearly two hours later. Shippou had a flower wreath on his head, while Kris had one draped around her neck like a collar, and Shippou ran over to Hisoka with one. The flowers were all white, yellow, and pink. Kris smirked.

Hisoka was already napping in the sun by this point. His chosen spot was warm and comfortable, and the cabin had been quiet enough for him to doze off. He woke up when the two kitsune came back, but didn't crack an eye until he heard Shippou's pattering footsteps coming closer to him.

Aura followed him, although she was a bit wary when they went through back roads and alleys. She wasn't scared, per se, but just a bit nervous. She didn't like being on streets so deserted, it set her a bit on edge, even though Sesshoumaru was there. She couldn't help it. She walked a bit closer to him while they were in the alleys.

"Hisoka?" Shippou asked, moving closer. "We made something for you." He looked at the cat hopefully, holding out the flower circlet. Kris was back by the door biting her lower lip hard.

Sesshomaru remained unaffected, and merely glanced down at Aura before he returned to walking down main streets. Most of the people they passed stopped to look at him at one point or another, but he ignored them. He was used to the stares, but that didn't mean he liked it.

Hisoka opened his eyes and sat up, looking at the kit and the offered flowers. Reaching out, he gently took the wreath.

"It's wonderful, kit," he said. He looked a bit more closely at the flowers. They seemed to be wildflowers, and he couldn't place names with particular blossoms, but they were aesthetically pleasing nonetheless. And unlike his lordship, Hisoka wasn't above accepting such a thing from someone close to him.

Aura wasn't used to the stares at all, and she knew she was getting some. It wasn't every day someone saw a taiyoukai carrying a hanyou pup and being followed by a human girl, and it was starting to make her a bit uncomfortable. She wasn't used to being the relative center of attention.

Shippou beamed and managed to squirm his way into Hisoka's lap, settling down there easily. Nap time. Then they could go swimming. He yawned, briefly exposing little baby fangs, before he settled down on the cat.

Kris chuckled and went outside, moving around the building, clearly doing patrol.

Sesshomaru glanced down at her. "Ignore them," he said quietly. He could smell she was uneasy. "We'll be there in approximately twenty more minutes."

Hisoka gently set the flower wreath aside and moved the kit a little so they would both be comfortable curled up in the big stuffed chair. He didn't mind sharing his nap.

Twenty minutes. Aura could handle that. Still, she stayed close to him, just in case. She was still uneasy about all the stares.

Kris continued patrolling through their nap, even though it got hot and uncomfortable and sticky. She didn't go inside once, continuing to move around her property, taking in all the differences.

Sesshomaru opened a gate for her and slid it shut behind them a little while later, moving the rest of the way up to the large house. He didn't even unlock the door, just opened it and held the door for her to enter.

Of course, since this was his family, they were well-off. Sorta rich. Okay, extremely rich. And they showed it.

Hisoka only dozed a bit, more half-awake than anything, and he could hear every time Kris passed by that side of the cabin. As far as he could tell, Shippou was still sleeping soundly in his lap, so he didn't get up, but he glanced out the window once or twice at Kris whenever he was awake enough to do so.

Aura tried really, really hard not to stare too much at the almost ridiculously opulent home. She'd never been anywhere even half as nice, and there was a lot there that she was trying to look at all at once. So she really did try her best not to stare.

She failed.

Kris finally went inside after a few hours, going over to Shippou, who was starting to wake up with the extra heat.

"Ready to go swimming?" she asked, looking at the kit. He just grinned and got up, running for the door. She shook her head and went to the back of the small house, tearing up an extra wood plank. She tested it briefly before nodding her satisfaction. "You coming, cat, or are you going to sleep all day?"

Sesshomaru let her have a minute to just stare around his house. It was quite a bit to take in. Then he started walking.

"Inuyasha's room is upstairs," he said quietly, starting up the staircase.

"I'll observe," Hisoka said carefully. He was trying to make sure not to give them any loopholes they could use to pull him into the lake. He put up with water for bathing purposes, but he'd never really taken to swimming for fun.

Aura hesitated for a moment, then followed him up the stairs. She was almost afraid to touch anything. She didn't want to accidentally break anything expensive, and she felt completely out of place in such an expensive-looking house. A mansion, more like.

Kris nodded and headed for the lake, stripping off her jeans as she went, leaving tight shorts under them. She kept her t-shirt, wading into the water and carrying Shippou with her. She set him on the board once they were in deeper water, letting him get used to the water first.

Sesshomaru glanced at her and smiled faintly. "This house was designed with youkai in mind," he said mildly. "I doubt you could break anything if you tried." He turned down a hallway, going to his brother's room and setting the pup down on his bed to finish his nap. His own room was at the end of the hall, but he didn't say that.

Hisoka changed into something a little more water-tolerant, going back to his typical grayscale wardrobe, and followed the two out to the lake. He stayed on the shore, though, and found a shady place to watch the two play in the water.

"Still..." Aura said. The house looked lived-in and impersonal at the same time, and the disconnect just made her a little more hesitant. She was in the habit of not touching things in other people's homes unless she had permission, and this particular home felt the same way.

Kris took her time teaching Shippou how to swim, hanging on to the board next to him so he wouldn't feel quite so young. But after a while, he started out on his own, and Kris let go so he could swim as far as he wanted to. She floated there easily, watching him with a faint smile and thinking of other youngsters like him that she'd taught before.

Sesshomaru settled himself in a chair in Inuyasha's room, quirking an eyebrow at Aura in a silent invitation to come in. The little hanyou's room looked much more lived in, with some stuffed animals strewn on the floor, a few toys scattered in too. His bed was big, big enough for Sesshomaru to lay behind him, and there was one corner with a small table, clearly Hisoka's area.

Aura stepped into the room quietly, stepping around the toys on the floor out of sheer practice and habit. If she could walk through her own messy home before it was cleaned without cutting her feet open on some hidden danger, a few scattered toys were nothing. She looked around the room, a bit of awe on her face. This one room was probably bigger than the main room of the daycare. She wasn't used to seeing single rooms so big.

Hisoka watched the two having fun. It was clear that Kris had taught youngsters how to swim before, and Shippou was learning very quickly. It seemed like the two were having quite a bit of fun.

Sesshomaru smirked faintly as he watched her. "He'll probably keep this room for a while," he offered conversationally. "Which will be helpful when he's older."

He didn't mention that his own room was a bit bigger. With his own private bathroom. He did enjoy his baths, after all.

Shippou swam over to Kris, since she was starting to look a little depressed, and quickly got her attention. The two conferred quietly for a few moments, looking at Hisoka, before Kris grinned and nodded. Shippou swam back over to shore while Kris slipped under the water and swam over to another part of the lake to get out, still dripping, and started silently over towards Hisoka.

Hisoka watched the two warily when they started to conspire together. Whatever it was they were planning, he was sure he was on the receiving end. For the moment, though... he would have to wait and see what they had planned.

"I've never seen a bedroom this big," Aura admitted. Of course, the bedroom she had as a little girl had been painted vibrantly purple with butterflies all over the place, but it still hadn't been anywhere near this size.

Shippou managed to get over to Hisoka, not quite close enough to drip on him. "Come on, Hisoka!" he urged. "It's not cold. Come swim with us!"

Kris snuck up behind the two, staying silent and repressing her youki, just waiting for the right chance.

Sesshomaru nodded, glancing around the room. "It is... opulent." He quirked an eyebrow at her. "Perhaps you would be more comfortable somewhere else?"

Hisoka just raised an eyebrow for a moment. Cats and water didn't mix. After a moment, though, he did get up. He could at least sit on a rock or something to appease them without actually getting into the water.

He had no idea how wrong he was, of course.

Aura suppressed a snort.

"'Opulent' is a bit of an understatement," she replied. She still nodded a bit, though. She probably would be more comfortable in a more... casual space. She just hoped there actually WAS such a space in the mansion.

The kit got him closer to the water, grabbing his hand and pulling him closer. Looking back at Kris, he let go of the cat and stepped back, grinning impishly.

Which is when Kris tackled him, sending them both into the lake with a big splash, her arms still locked around his chest. Even if he couldn't swim, she could. And she wasn't going to drown the cat.

He hadn't pissed her off that much, yet.

Sesshomaru nodded and stood, glancing back at her before he went down the stairs and to the end of another hall. This was the more family side of the building, whereas the other half was more for his father's use or for business matters.

The room that he led Aura to, however, was nice. Painted in shades of brown, the room had two couches and a comfortable looking chair, with a table pushed against a wall out of the way and a TV along another wall. This room was clearly more lived in, as evidenced by the slightly worn out cushions, the occasional tear in the carpet, and the few pictures in the room. He and Hisoka often spent late nights here, and they often brought Inuyasha down with them so they could work on things and keep an eye on the pup. Because he needed watching.

Aura immediately relaxed as she went into the 'family room.' And that's clearly what it was, a family room. It was much more comfortable, and felt more lived-in, and it was easier to relax and feel a bit at home there. She bit her lip and grinned a little. She almost thought that he didn't know how to DO 'casual.' It was kind of refreshing to know he could.

Hisoka yelped as he was tackled into the water. He should have expected that, he really should. He sputtered as they came back up, and he couldn't help but glare a bit. He didn't like water. After a moment, though, he relaxed slightly. If they were having fun, he wasn't going to spoil it yet. At least they weren't trying to dunk him yet.

Sesshomaru looked at her rather suspiciously. "What are you so amused at?" he asked quietly, crossing to a large chair and settling himself in it. He would be able to hear as soon as Inuyasha woke up, which made things easy. But he did still have 'alone time' with Aura. It was a win-win scenario for him. Not that he could do much outright yet, but he could at least see how receptive she was.

Shippou grinned and clapped, clearly pleased, while Kris laughed quietly in his ear. She was still hanging on to his back, her arms shifting to around his shoulders instead of his chest. She didn't want to drown him, after all. And he could apparently swim. Which was good.

"See? Water isn't so bad, cat." She grinned.

"Nothing," Aura answered quickly, still trying to fight off a grin. She went and sat down on the couch. She didn't quite sprawl, but it was a near thing. The couch was surprisingly comfortable and well broken-in, and she relaxed a bit more. She couldn't quite shake the sudden mental image of Sesshoumaru attempting to sprawl on the couch, though. It went right along with the idea that he didn't seem like the type to be able to relax like that.

"Water," Hisoka replied carefully, "is a necessary evil." Learning to swim had also been a necessary evil. He wasn't going to be winning any Olympic races or anything, but he was good enough not to drown. However... he could deal with it if it pleased Kris.

Sesshomaru chuckled quietly but didn't say anything else, instead just settling down to relax while he could. It didn't take long before he heard Inuyasha getting up though.

"I'll be right back," he murmured, getting up and going back up to Inuyasha's room to retrieve the pup. He came back down a few moments later with Inuyasha cradled in his arms, the pup still waking up and rubbing his eyes.

Kris laughed quietly. "Good kitty," she teased, one claw tickling the underside of his chin very briefly before she moved away, expecting retaliation. She was still grinning though, and Shippou waded out to join her.

Aura resisted the urge to 'awww' at the sleepy pup. He was just as adorable as ever. Subconsciously, though, she was getting ready for him to really wake up. Every day at the daycare, he would nap and then be running around constantly, so she was ready for it.

Hisoka turned around and splashed her for the teasing, although he chuckled slightly and drifted backwards a bit. He wasn't trying to get closer to shore, of course not.
