Inu Taisho chuckled quietly at her look. "Hmm. Apparently he hasn't been as obvious as I thought he would be." He grinned briefly, showing a wickedly sharp sense of humor. This could be very entertaining.
Kris blinked at the unexpected gesture before she moved her hair out of the way, closing her eyes and letting him continue. That felt... rather nice, actually. Unexpected, but nice. |
"Sesshoumaru and obvious don't belong in the same sentence," Aura said before she could stop herself. "That's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one." She blinked when she realized what she said, and resisted the urge to cover her mouth to keep herself from saying any more.
Hisoka kept rubbing her shoulders, gently working out some of the knots. They weren't as bad as he thought they would be, but he kept working at them anyways. "You know," he said, "you could always go upstairs and take that hot bath, now that you're home." He remembered she mentioned a hot bath before, with the incident with the cold stream, and now was her chance to have that hot bath. |
Inu Taisho let out a bark of laughter. "True," he agreed. He looked at her, clearly reappraising her. Then he noticed the band-aids on her arms and his eyebrows shot up in silent question.
Kris glanced back at him. "I'll do that later. After Aura gets back." She let her eyes close again so she was no longer looking at him. "And you can go take a nap when you get home." Since she hadn't seen him sleep at all on their little trip. Not that she kept track or anything. |
Aura was confused for a moment, until she realized he was looking at her arms.
"It's nothing," she said. "I work at the daycare, I get worse than this all the time." And really, she'd gotten off easy this weekend: she'd only skinned each of her elbows once, and only accumulated a few scratches. Nothing band-aids and neosporin wouldn't fix. "I'm sure you could do with a nap yourself," Hisoka pointed out. While he hadn't slept at all, Kris had slept very little. And yes, he'd noticed that. |
Inu Taisho hid a laugh behind a cough. "I see," he said, still looking rather amused. He paused before he snorted. "You should continue downstairs before my son thinks I did something to upset you."
"Don't worry, I'll sleep tonight." Kris let out a little hum of pleasure. She might have to ask him to do this more often. |
Aura almost made a comment about being a big girl and being able to look after herself, but thought better of it and just picked up her bag. Once she was sure it wouldn't burst open again, she nodded and started to make her way downstairs again.
"Good," Hisoka replied. He'd worked out the knots in her shoulders, but he kept up with the massage anyways. It was obvious Kris was enjoying it. |
Inu Taisho watched her go before he snorted and shook his head, going back to his room.
Sesshomaru looked over at her as soon as she came downstairs, checking her over before relaxing slightly. Kris didn't move, letting him continue and making a contented little rumble. |
Aura rolled her eyes a little bit and shifted her bag on her shoulder.
"Alright, all my stuff is packed up," she said. Hisoka kept rubbing her shoulders. He didn't mind taking care of her like this, and would keep doing it until she said to stop. |
Sesshomaru nodded, picking up the pup as he walked over to her. "Would you like me to accompany you home?"
Kris finally shifted and forced herself to sit up again, looking back at him with a smile. "Thanks." |
Aura nodded, smiling a little.
"I'd like that," she replied. Hey, it gave her an excuse to spend a little more time with him. "My pleasure," Hisoka replied, letting Kris sit up again. "Did you enjoy it?" |
Sesshomaru nodded and looked at Inuyasha before heading to the front door. He'd take the pup with. No big deal.
"Shall we, then?" "Very much." Kris smiled rather sheepishly. "Probably too much." Because, yes, she really did think so. |
Aura nodded and followed him to the door. As fun as the weekend was, she was glad to be going back to her own, normal home, where nothing looked ridiculously expensive and it actually felt lived-in.
Hisoka chuckled softly. "Well, you're more than welcome to another massage any time you want one," he said. |
Sesshomaru walked with her quietly, keeping track of everything else around them. He didn't speak, quite comfortable with the silence for now at least. Besides, it wouldn't take them too long to get to her house.
"Better be careful, I might take you up on that." Kris grinned at him and got up, heading into the kitchen to make some food. |
Aura didn't mind the silence this time, either. After spending the whole weekend playing with Inuyasha, the quiet was actually kind of welcome.
"By all means," Hisoka replied as Kris went into the kitchen. Getting up, he followed her, although he didn't get in her way. He would acknowledge the kitchen as her personal territory, and she was in charge there. |
Sesshomaru walked her to her front door, unsure if he should go inside or not. He wouldn't mind certainly, and he had a cat to pick up anyway.
Kris started working on dinner, not cooking anything yet but making sure it was all cut up and prepped for cooking. Then she paused when she heard people outside. "They're back." |
Aura didn't even pause at the door, she opened it and went inside. When she realized that Sesshoumaru hadn't followed her, she turned around to look at him.
"You can come in, you know," she said. She didn't mind, really, and besides, she could tell the cat was still around. There was too much youki in the house for it to just be Kris and Shippou. Hisoka looked out into the hall when he heard the door open. "Indeed," he commented when he saw Aura and Sesshoumaru. They didn't seem any worse for wear... "Forgive my asking, but is it normal for Aurellia to have bandages on her arms?" he asked Kris. He hadn't noticed before whether or not Aura was prone to clumsiness, or if it was just a side-effect of working with small children all the time. |
Sesshomaru nodded and moved inside, shutting the door gently behind him. Inuyasha blinked and looked around with wide eyes, looking at the strange new place. But he was quite content to stay latched to Sesshomaru.
"Oh, yeah. Rugburn," Kris said, shrugging it off. She wiped her hands to get rid of any residual veggie juice before she went to go hug Aura. "How was your weekend?" Then she noticed Inuyasha and paused. She hadn't thought the taiyoukai would bring his younger brother here. That was rather surprising. Although since Aura had just spent the weekend with the pup, it did sort of make sense. |
"Ah," Hisoka replied, understanding. He'd forgotten how fragile humans could be, and hadn't taken it into account. He never recalled getting rugburn or anything of the sort during his own days of child-minding for his own siblings.
"Weekend was great," Aura replied as she put her bag next to the stairs, to go up. She would take it with her when she went to her room. "What about yours?" |
"Pretty fun." Kris grinned briefly. "Don't be surprised if we end up with the occasional rabbit now and again. Shippou keeps trying to hunt."
Sesshomaru hid his snort very well, looking rather amused. But he shifted his grip on Inuyasha, since the pup was curious about Kris. |
"That's alright," Aura replied. Hell, as long as she didn't see the rabbit being killed, she was okay with it. "I'm glad you had a good time." She knew very well that the full moon had fallen right in the middle of the weekend, but since Kris was still there, and seemed to be just fine around Hisoka, she figured things had gone well.
Hisoka got up from where he was, and went over to Sesshoumaru. "How was the weekend?" he asked softly. He was asking a very different question than Kris had asked Aura. |
Kris grinned. "So, have fun chasing the pup around all weekend?" She was just teasing, and it was all in good fun.
What she didn't expect, however, was for Sesshomaru to put down said pup. He ran over behind Aura, peeking up at the other hanyou with big eyes. Sesshomaru smirked faintly and kept part of his attention on his brother. "It went well," he murmured, very pleased. Then he quirked an eyebrow. "And of your weekend?" |
Aura wasn't surprised when she felt the pup grab onto her legs from behind. Leaning down, she picked him up and settled him on her hip so he could see Kris better.
"I only skinned my elbows twice," she said, grinning. "I was doing good." "My weekend also went well," Hisoka replied. "It was... educational." He looked at the taiyoukai. "I can only surmise that you are dropping her off because his lordship is home again," he commented. "If I might ask, how did that particular meeting go?" Because he knew that Inu Taisho wouldn't let Sesshoumaru take Aura home without meeting her first. |
Kris smirked when she saw the pup looking at her cautiously. "Smart pup. Knows this isn't his territory." She ruffled his hair, and he pouted at her. "And of course he goes to the most sympathetic person in the room." She grinned briefly at her friend.
Sesshomaru nodded and smirked faintly. "It was quite interesting. I believe he finds her interesting, if rather amusing." He'd fully explain later, because he just got distracted by Kris interacting with his brother. He still didn't entirely trust her. |
Aura grinned back and shrugged a bit. She couldn't argue that point. Kris was right. She cuddled Inuyasha a bit when he started pouting, although she didn't start rubbing his ears yet.
"That will end up being a point in your favor," Hisoka commented. "But I believe the more important question will end up being whether or not he approves." And that was the real issue: both his lordship's approval, and the approval of Aura's alpha, in this case, Kris. |
Kris just snickered and examined him a little more closely before she snorted. He looked to be in excellent health, which she appreciated. And he wasn't scared, just cautious. Also a good sign.
Sesshomaru nodded. He knew he could convince his father, if his father didn't decide on his own, but he wasn't worried about that yet. |
