Things went on like that for a few months, at least until Christmas rolled around. It had been a little tricky for Aura to do her holiday shopping, since she was spending more and more time with Sesshoumaru, but she managed to get it done and she was pleased with the gifts she'd found. Carefully, she packed the gifts into the bag she was taking with her. She had to bring them with her, since they were spending the holiday with Sesshoumaru's family.

Kris had even agreed to spend the holiday with Sesshomaru's family, although it had taken some prodding and pleading from Aura and Shippou both. She'd gotten her shopping done online, mostly, and she had fun with it. She stuffed everything in gift bags, which she then put in a larger bag to hide. She hadn't met Inu Taisho yet, but she had asked Aura for help with that. She couldn't stop twitching and fidgeting, though.

When Aura noticed how much Kris was fidgeting, she reached over and rubbed one of the hanyou's ears.

"Relax," she said. "It'll be fun."

Kris shivered briefly and relaxed. "And you're not at all worried about dragging me into the middle of their family thing?" She looked over at Aura, floundering just a bit. This was the first time she'd done Christmas shopping for more than one person.

"Maybe a little," Aura admitted. "But I'm sure everything will be alright. And it's only for a couple of days." She'd had to shop for more than one person before, but this year was a bit different.

Kris sighed but nodded, trusting her. "Alright," she said quietly. "Are we ready to go?" She glanced up the stairs when Shippou came bouncing down. She had packed for the two of them already, since they were staying for a few days.

Aura nodded. "I am," she said, getting her bag and coat. Then she paused, and grabbed a scarf for good measure. It had been snowing the last few days.

Kris nodded and grabbed her stuff, opening the door and letting everyone out before she locked up the house.

"Alright. Let's get going." She motioned for Shippou to lead the way. She figured he'd appreciate the chance to do some tracking.

Aura nodded and followed them outside. She knew what Kris was doing, and so just followed them even though she knew the way by now.

It took them a little longer when Shippou led the way, but he got them there and he got valuable practice. So Kris just smiled and ruffled the kit's hair when he stopped a little ways back from the door.

Sesshomaru opened the door before they could knock. He'd been keeping track of their approach, and he smiled faintly when they got there.

Aura smiled when she saw Sesshoumaru. She didn't go in for a kiss quite yet, though; she would do that when Kris and Shippou weren't there to watch.

Hisoka had also kept track of their arrival, and waited just inside for Kris to come inside. Sesshoumaru took priority, being who he was, so Hisoka had to wait until his lordship had given his greetings.

"Come in," Sesshomaru offered, looking mostly at Kris. "Welcome." He waited until they were all in before he snagged an arm around Aura. "Hello again."

Kris nodded and moved inside, watching him for a moment before she huffed and carried Shippou inside. She nodded to Sesshomaru before looking at Hisoka, quirking a brow.

Aura grinned.

"Hello to you too," she replied. Hell yes she was flirting. "At least let me get my coat off first."

Hisoka smiled at Kris.

"I'm glad you decided to come," he said to her. "I hope you enjoy yourself while you're here."

Sesshomaru smirked faintly and took the back of her coat, pulling it off gently for her and setting it in the coat closet by the front door.

"I hope so too." Kris shifted, obviously aware that Inu Taisho was around, and glanced at Hisoka. "So you live here?"

"I do," Hisoka replied, helping her with her jacket. "I assure you, one does get used to it after a time."

"Smartass," Aura teased affectionately when he took her coat. If she stood on her toes, she was almost tall enough to kiss him, she'd found. That just meant he had to go the rest of the way.

Kris shivered again but let him take her jacket, looking around apprehensively. She was most definitely not comfortable there, that much was clear.

Sesshomaru smirked a little and leaned down, kissing her briefly. Then he hummed and moved back, just a little.

"Would you like your normal room?"

Hisoka wrapped his arms around her gently.

"Just relax," he said softly. "You are a guest here, you have nothing to worry about."

Aura returned the brief kiss.

"I would," she replied. She grinned a bit. "No sense in me taking another one when that one will be just fine."

Kris relaxed slowly, although she doubted she'd be totally at ease until she met Inu Taisho.

"Yeah, yeah," she grumbled. "I haven't been a welcomed guest anywhere in a while."

Sesshomaru nodded. "Shall we, then?" He kept his arm around her, letting her decide if she wanted to go put her stuff away.

Aura nodded.

"Sure," she said. "May as well put my things in there now so I don't have to worry about it later." Made perfect sense, and it would give her a chance to put the gifts where they needed to go.

"Well, you are a welcomed guest here," Hisoka said. "Would you like me to show you to the room you will be using?"

Sesshomaru nodded and walked with her up the stairs to the room she always used. He shut the door gently behind them before scooping her up to kiss her.

Kris nodded after a moment. "Yes. Thanks." She picked up Shippou again and followed Hisoka, already making a mental map of the place.

Aura was surprised at the sudden kiss, but returned it easily enough. She would readily admit that she loved kissing him; it wasn't something she got to do near often enough, yet, and he was a fantastic kisser.

Gently, Hisoka took her hand and walked with her towards the guest rooms. He brought her to a room far enough from Aura's that they would each have privacy, if they wanted it, but not so far that they were really separated.

"Here," he said.

Sesshomaru growled quietly and held her there, still kissing her. If he had his way, they'd do this a lot more often than they currently did.

Although if he had his way she'd live with him.

"Thanks." Kris glanced around the room and set her stuff down letting Shippou explore.

"Possessive today," Aura murmured between kisses. She cuddled a bit closer. "I like it."

Hisoka watched the two. He could tell Kris wasn't comfortable yet, and he promised himself that he would make every effort to please her while she was there.

"Hnn." Sesshomaru somehow managed to haul her a little closer. "We don't have any plans until dinner," he said, almost hopefully.

Kris watched Shippou run off before she returned his attention to Hisoka.

"How do you stand it?" she finally asked, her voice quiet. The whole place smelled like dog, and it was starting to drive her nuts.

"And what were you planning on filling the time with?" Aura asked him teasingly.

"One grows accustomed to it," Hisoka replied. He'd been serving the family for centuries, he hardly noticed such things anymore unless he was away for a while.
